Charm I made today, I like it but I need stronger string?

I’ve noticed there are a lot of other beaders and jewellers especially crystal/hippy/fairy core jewellery that also use string. I like using string but my only concern is that it is flimsy and could break easily whilst being out and about. I’m just wondering how other people that use string do this? What kind of string do you use? I’m using the 0.5mm waxed polyester cord, I buy that size because it’s the only string that fits through the holes in the beads, if I buy any bigger it won’t fit into the holes. I was wondering if anyone had any advice as I like using string to make jewellery and accessories too but this has been a problem for me since I started and I just want to find some strong string that fits through bead holes..

Made a necklace. What do people think?

I like it but I think I need some better string.. can anyone recommend some good string? It’s thin string because it’s the only string that fits through the holes of the beads..

Can anyone recommend some good string for jewellery making/bracelets?

I’ve been buying 0.5mm waxed cord from Amazon, if I buy any bigger than 0.5mm it doesn’t thread through the beads because it’s too big to fit through the bead. But the 0.5mm cord I’ve been buying isn’t too great, as you can see in the picture it always does this at the end, and when I tie knots the knots come undone easily. What string/cord do other people use and where do you buy it from? And what size? Would really appreciate some advice as I’m a bit stuck.. I did try different strings but they were too big for the beads.

Do any creatives want to support each other?

I’m thinking of starting a page for my jewellery soon, but during the meantime I’m going to post my jewellery progress on here whilst I boost my confidence in jewellery making and improve on my designs. I was wondering if anyone wanted support me here on my Reddit and I was wondering if we could support each other, I would also love to see other people’s work and support their journey too.

Something funny about being autistic is being nice to people that don’t like me.

A lot of time when people say mean things to me, disguised as jokes or shade, I think it’s to get a reaction out of me. But because of my autism I don’t always realise until days or weeks later. So when they are being mean to me, in the moment I’m nice back to them because I missed the social cue and they must really hate that because they want a reaction 🤣 I’m actually realising this might be why I make people annoyed because I don’t understand the social cues, so they must be really confused when they’ve just said something horrible to me and I’ve responded politely 😂😂

I have adhd and I found a hobby that I can stick to.

Making jewellery has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed with adhd this year and I’ve always found it hard to stick to hobbies and jobs. I get too burnt out and depressed and overwhelmed then I can’t stick to it or live up to expectations, that’s when I start feeling like a failure, It feels like I failed at something again. But it’s different with jewellery, making jewellery doesn’t feel like a chore, it makes me feel calm. All the different colours and the sparkly beads makes me happy, it’s therapeutic and distracts me from my adhd, I feel like it’s something I can focus on. when it’s finished i feel proud that i made something with my own hands. This sounds stupid I think it’s just the routine of it, it’s repetitive and tying knots choosing the different beads and putting them on is satisfying, it’s hard to explain, it’s satisfying for my brain lol. I found the perfect hobby for my adhd. I’m hoping to build my confidence up enough to go to markets soon. I’m so thankful I found this hobby, I wish I found it sooner.

Trying to make sense of why people don’t like me.

It’s been like this since I can remember. I’m a quiet person, I stay to myself, I mind my business and despite my autism and adhd I’m as polite as I can be when I’m masking. But for some reason some people seem to not like me without even speaking to me. I can even just have seen them in passing but we don’t actually know each other, and then I hear all these things about myself and peoples perceptions of me that aren’t true and it’s not just ‘oh I don’t like her’ and then they move on, it’s never that. It’s always these people don’t like me but they want to pick me apart and they don’t seem to let it go, for years. I’ve been bullied by a few different people for years and I just want them to stop, I hide away and wait for it to stop but then I don’t know if that is helping. I make people so angry they start fights with me, random people on the street that don’t even know me, I had past friends and relationships where they start bullying me and turn on me. It’s happened so frequently now that I don’t leave the house. And when I talk about it people don’t believe me. People don’t understand why I won’t leave the house and get a job, or socialise and make friends, because I can’t. I’ve realised that it’s not safe for me, every time I leave the house or try and socialise something happens and like I said before it’s not just someone doesn’t like me, my existence makes people angry and it puts me in danger. It’s like I have a target on me. Ive been told I’m playing the victim because i always have bad things happen to me and that it can’t be true. But it is true and these things did happen, the worst part is these things happening then people don’t even believe me so then because I am now so anxious and traumatised people think I’m being dramatic or a hypochondriac or something and probably think I’m an attention seeker. The situations I spoke about here aren’t even the worst situations I’ve been in, but it’s too much to share.

Hoping to get some answers here because I can’t make sense of any of this, I’m just existing. I don’t know how my existence can make people this angry. I’ve also had people tell me they want me to move away and you know.. that they don’t want me around and I should... ect. I just can’t believe how much people hate me and all I crave is human connection even after everything that’s happened to me.
