I blocked someone on Instagram and our chat disappeared I'm 100% sure I never deleted the chat I unblocked him afterwards but the chat was still gone I kept looking for it in my DMs every day but couldn't find it and I'm also sure I never restricted him then after about a month I searched my DMs and suddenly found the whole old chat again but it was showing as a message request even though there were no new messages at all and at the bottom of the chat it said) Do you want to accept the message request from (his name)

He never blocked me either I was the only one who blocked him so what does this mean?? Has anyone had this happen before

Has anyone had this happen before? And could it be that he sent me a message and then deleted it which made the chat come back as a message request?

I had a long Instagram chat with someone, and I blocked and unblocked this person more than 20 times. I am completely sure that I never deleted the conversation.

Suddenly, the chat disappeared completely. After about 40 days, it suddenly reappeared in my inbox, but as a Message Request, showing the message “Do you want to accept the message request from \[name\]?” even though there was no new message from this person.

When I opened it, the entire old conversation was still there, including all the previous messages and the custom chat theme we had set before. The strange part is that I had been searching for the chat every day during those 40 days, and it never appeared.

I recently noticed my ex unblocked me on Instagram. I clicked her profile and clicked the send message button where I was prompted with “would you like to accept message request from..”. I decided to accept to see what she had to say. When I accepted there was no message there. Did she send me a message then delete it? Also will she see, or receive a notification that I accepted the request? Im curious but unwilling to reach out.
