Thoughts on coming from Explorer Sport to ST

Introduction: I admire the Explorer since 5th Gen. Needles to say, when I learned about the 6th Gen, I started to want the ST. For various reasons but mostly: performance and RWD.

I have recently acquired a mint low-mileage '19 Sport. I have performed a thorough maintenance (all suspension components + Bilsten B6, new tires, spark plugs, walnut blasting, new injectors..) and running 93 Livernois tune. It rides fine now with 431 hp.

but

I have just been offered a mint '23 ST. The difference in price (if I trade-in my '19) would be approx. double.
I initially wanted to wait a few years for a nice used '25 or '26 but this seems tempting.

What do you guys think? Would you say it'll be worth the upgrade? Will it be "twice the car" for the money?
Is there anyone who can say they miss their old (tuned) Sport?

I'm not in a rush to upgrade but as I said, it's tempting.

Check and Clean or Replace your injectors, PLEASE! Every 60k miles maximum.

3.5 EcoBoost

70k miles (only)

Check your injectors before you chase ghosts and throw money on unrelated parts.

Symptoms BEFORE:

  • Vibrations on idle
  • Relatively less power (feel, no dyno to verify)
  • High consumption (10-11 mpg)

After the replacement:

  • Calm idle
  • Hard pulls now get you traction control light on the dash
  • Consumption 25 - 30 mpg extra urban
  • Dashboard says "Thank you" (just kidding)

The replacement takes about 2 hrs .. nothing difficult, you can DIY on a Sunday afternoon.

A dad went viral after his daughter texted him from the side of the road because her boyfriend could not change a flat tire.

GPT 5.5 Speed (Extremely slow)

While you are worried about reaching your weekly limits, I have the opposite problem, GPT 5.5 has become so slow, I'm not even able to get to 10% of the usage - I can see it's producing perhaps 10 tokens / sec, in Fast mode. This has been an issue for me during the past two weeks. Anyone?

Opus 4.7 on Max effort decided to create a new email template by itself (which is pretty stupid btw) and mass mailed it to the whole database (some emails were repeatedly sent 20x).

Before you ask me - yes, CLAUDE.md has the exact rule for that, it's supposed to email the tester before any new email templates are to be used in production. I have created this safety rule a few months ago.

I feel like the Opus 4.7 is a huge letdown the way it's been downgraded. If Anthropic is "pushing the boundaries", it's probably only in the meaning of how far they can push their customers.
