I just randomly remembered this game exists
Hey everybody! Did anyone of you had a moment where you just randomly remembered something? Well I just had it with PvZ: Heroes becouse of YouTube Shorts of all things, and decited to check the game that lived in my mind as "that weird Clash Royale wannabe".
I made a completley fresh account and rediscovered a few things mainly that it is NOT Clash Royale clone - this game have very diferent gameplay, but also that I have a feeling that game doesn't allow me to have fun as completley fresh free-to-play player.
The "campain levels" are sure balanced around fresh players, but I believe that random battles in single player mode are againc CPUs that uses full preset decks that involve various cards that I don't have decent answers and in multiplayer games I also find marches with players that just have way better cards.
If this post seems like I am just bitching about something I want to say that this comes from lack of experiences with the game I do not have any malicious intentions with this post or towards the game. In fact I make this post to ask if I am missing something. Maybe I just have to get to grind a lot, maybe I am just as dense as a concrete block and I can stand a chance with fresh players cards, maybe there is simply noone on my level, and I am matched with players that play this game for a long time...
Slowly ending this post - is a entry point for PvZ:H that high or I just suck at card games. As a new player I simply swej some answers and wisdom on how to start my adventure with the game, and stop wining games becouse my oppoment disconected.
Dear space cowboys commonly known as Bandits - Serrated Dagger or Serrated Shiv
As I heard about new RoR2 DLC being in works, I decited to pick up the game again, and picked one of my favourite playable charakters, that being Bandit, and I started to wonder, if there is some definitive better option between a dagger and throwing dagger. I mean both can cancel falls, but one can hit multiple targets in melee range, and other gives you some extra range, but single target hemorrhage, and becouse of that I always stuck with Serrated Dagger, but maybe the other one is worth the shot? What would you say about both of them?
How do you guys tackle this Goo boss arena?
I'll be honest with you guys, I am sick, and the name of the sickness is skill issue (Ring of Wealth +3 was not worth it this atempt) and I went here to catch some helpfull tips for this exact arena. I should propably add this right away - Harder Bosses chalange is basicly always active on my runs. Goo has I think 3(?) diferent arenas, and others wahe philars you can ircle around with boss, but I always strugle with this philar-less arena. I am not asking how should I tackle this specific scenario, becouse I think I would find way more succes in dodging boss thrugh tall grass. Every time I see this area should I just pray that I will get good loop of doors to dodge through? Maybe there is something moe to that?
Did anyone else also just randomly remember that Sunse Overdrive exist?
You know recently I was going through my Steam liblary, and I just happened to stumble upon Sunset Overdrive, and decited to replay it, and damm do I had a blast! Sure it is not a perfect game, becouse there is no such thing - story is there to be there, I feel like dialoge and some (ok, maybe a little more than "some") humor aged rather poorly, but on the other hand I believe that gameplay holds incredibly well after what it would be? 12 years? Maybe good chunk of humor doesnt age well but there are still some gags, that are still funny like majority of 4th wall breaks, weapon variaety, player customization, the player movement, oh God the movement... Over all game still holds very well I think. I wonder if anyone else might re-discover this game, and what are other thoughts about this game, if anyone still remebers it exists.
Is it possible to put more cowboy on this cowboy loadout?
Hey everyone! Recently I dedicated to go back to playing TF2 and I wanted to make comeback in style, can this set be improved or is it cowboy enough?
Cosmetics used:
- More Gun Marshall (Wrangler)
- Sleuth Suit (Graveyard shift)
- Flared Frontiersman
- Power Up Canteen
My very first "maxed out" weapon. Should I feel ashamed because of fact that I can beat Very Hard with Boomerang being my only mean of dealing damage?
Screw Marauders, me and The Boys are running your own gang now
I don't know what this combination of spells tells about my skill, but damn running "summoner" build is quite fun to me
Idea for new optional quests - CRYPTID hunting
To begin - No, I did not wrote that wrong. I do not mean our beast foes Cryptics, I mean CRYPTIDS, a mythical creatures that are claimed to, but not proven to exist. So propably this idea should be named diferently to avoid unnecesarry confusion, so this idea should be named "Monster Hunting"?
Back to idea - So we all know and see that next to Sheriff there is a board with "wanted" posters, and I think it would be interesting if players could pick up a "bonus quest" to complete in their next mission, and well I think it would be interesting for such "bonus quest" to be a hunt for a mythical creature. On the board there would be few choices for diferent "hunts" similary like you can choose between few options on main map. For the rewards for completing such quest it could be some bonus gold, souls, maybe a decent number of her XP or XP Ticket or two.
For a few proposition for "hunts":
1) Jackalope Hunt - after picking up the quest players would need to find, capture and extract with alive Jackalope. On the next mission a new location will spawn, a poachers camp. After reaching the location players would need to grab a cage where they will trap Jackalope, and look for a trail of Jackalope near the camp. After following a trail for a while players would eventually find Jackalope itself. Players then would need to place cage on the ground and lead Jackalope insode cage, however Jackalope would constantly run away from pleyers, when they get too close. Leading it into cage would require some teamwork, and a little bit of luck, and after succesfully captureing Jackalope players would need to carry a cage to extraction zone and escape while one of the players hold cage in hands to complete the quest
2) Thunderbird Hunt - after picking up the quest a Thunderbird spawns on next mission, and fly around entire map in circles. Main objective of that quest would be aquireing feathers of Thunderbird, however bird itself would not pay attention to players. Players themselfs would need to collect and asemble three pieces of special bird wistle, that would cathch the attention of Thunderbird. Each piece would spawn in a special shrine. players would carry each piece of wistle like a jocker, and if all three pieces would be found any of three shrines would act as assembling station. Starting to assemble would start a simmilar event to storm, however the goal would be to avoid lightning striking from the sky, while standing close to the shrine. After asembling wistle the last step would be to be close enough to Thunderbrid, so it would hear the wistle, and land on ground. That would be oprtunity for pleyers to steal the feathers. Feathers in player invetory would be held just like jockers, however they would forse all of carriers spells to dal lightning damage no matter what spells player has equiped. After extracting with Thunderbird feathers "in inventory" quest would be comleted.
3) Chupacabra Hunt - after picking up the qust on next mission special "hounted" goat farm would spawn. the objectove of the quest would be to slay Chupacabra that tries to kill goats on the farm. Chupacabra would be invisible all the time and teleport when attacked for high enough damage, similarry to Prowlers on high difficulties. In addition to that fog would surowd goat farm, that would get more thick the lower HP Chupacabra has to make finding it more challenging over time. Hunt would be complete when Chupacabra dies, and extraction is succesfull.
Ideas for these "hunts" might to be the beast, hell this idea would be most likely very hard to implement, but I am curious what do you think about such optional 4th side quest? It is alright at beast? It is way to complicated? Is it even realistic to add something similar in distant future?
How sneaky you can be in Far Far West?
Lately I have been experimenting with my loadouts, and weapons. I really grew a liking to Long Ranger that became my Anti-Materiel Rifle and I started wandering if you can make "Stealth Build" in current game. I know and I am very aware that this game really shines in chaotic moments when you are swarmed from every direction and you just pop a Free Bird Solo to feel this much more awesome while blasting skeletons into pieces, but out of pure curiuosity I want to ask if stealth is possible in the game and if it is is it viable playstyle
He's Just Standing There... MENACINGLY!!!
Last match I did an oopsie, and triggered the storm, and after it finished, I saw a Lich and couple of his friends were either too scared to fight or plotting something malicious
Many Cryptics and Marauders were hurt during production of this low quality shitpost
A full house of Jockers I made
KEEP IN MIND we are talking a person on internet trying to do something fun, there is no way to test this ideas in any way, so they might be overpowered, underpowered, be a fun in concept, but bad in execusion or just the worst idea that ever saw the light of day. No matter if you like these ideas or not, I hope you will find some enjoyment in this post, even if it would be poking fun of it.
1) Extented Magazine
Equipable on - Quad Cylinder, Shotgun, Long Ranger, Leveredge, Revolver and Dual Revolvers
I would say that I believe that this one is the weakest of these ideas, and was born becouse there is not so many Mythic Jockers for weapons. I think that it would be... OK at best. I mean almost every weapon have upgrade dedicated to clip size or ammo you can have in case of minigun. Well at least Overblast enjoyers would find it handy, for extra shells in the shotty.
2) UNDOMINABLE ROBOT SPIRIT
Equipable on - Hero
Reason of existance? Funny. But seriously, a Jocker for a very specific scenario that you should never find yourself into - being dead. Remaining your robot shape as ghost for short while and using your equiped weapons might help your friends get rid of horde on their tail, but I think that is rather weak excuse for that Jocker to exist. It is rather more interesting on paper.
3) Ride & Gun
Equipable on - Hero
Hey you! Yes YOU! I'm talking to You over there! Do you ever wanted to shoot something from safety of your own sadle? Now you can! I think using primaries on horse might be a little to good, but secondaries are great weapons to. Yet another "It would be cool" Jocker. Well most of them was born by thinking "it would be cool if..."
4) Stampede
Equipable on - Hero
Description is so vague it says almost nothing, so here is what it does - when you are on your horse few ghost cowboys spawns around you. Each one can run over enemies, but most importanly, whenever you would be throwed off your horse one ghost rider takes that hit, so you can countinue your ride. Up to three ghost can be around you, and they can regenerate, but it takes quite a lot of time.
5) Tunel Vision
Equipable on - Quad Cylinder, Shotgun, Long Ranger, Leveredge, Revolver, Bow
A not-so-good atemt to reinvent Weak Link Jocker that in theory was suposed to be even more rewarding but with even more downsides. At the end of the day I think that first - tripple weakspot damage might be a little to much, second - Weak Link not only takes way less Jocker slots, but is more common, and you can stack it more. It was suposed to be Jocker dedicated to people who like sniper playstyle, but I think it fails in that.
I included some my thoughts on these Jockers, becouse at least for me it is interesting, to know, what a person had in mind, while making a things, so you might understand what was a chain of thoughts that lead to finnal product. Well my train of thought might went in some wild directions, so my thoughts may seem like madmans ramblings, so there's another thing to consider while reading. Once again, these ideas never really stood next to actually well balanced idea, so there is propably a lot of issues with them, but I believe that they are interesting enought to share them. Are they good? Are they bad? Maybe these are cooler as idea rather than actual Jocker, share your thoughts, it is always interesting to listen people with way more experience, that have better understanding of balance.
Silly legendary hero jocker idea - Partner In Crime
This is more of a Joke Jocker. Basicly it makes that a friendly Coyote enemy (the one with a bag, that drops weapon fragment when killed) becomes your follower. Of course to distinct your sidekick form that whole one other Coyote runing around the map friendly one could wear his own small cowboy hat and maybe kind of a robbers/zorro style mask.
Follower Coyote would have his own double barrel Deringer pistol. Damage would not be someting great, just enough to kill a Grunt, and after 2 shots Coyote would need to reload. Other function than pathetic combat capabilities would be collecting all stray gold nuggets that you miss. Also if somehow Coyote would collect 100 gold by himself he could be able to revive player. After that Coyote would need to collect another 100 gold.
Just a silly idea DO NOT take it too seriously
Hear me out - a Katana Primary Weapon?
You know we already have shurikens in form of Sheriff Stars, so what exactly stops us from going full cowboy ninja and add Katana as Primary Weapon or as popential Melee one, since we can look forward to them in (rather distant) future? My idea looks like this:
Katanas attack would be a wide horizontal slashes with rather high speed. Becouse it would be a melee weapon I believe it should have already build in lifesteal, with ability to upgrade it even further alongsid sandard damage, "fire rate" or rather attack speed or draw speed. For uniqe Jockers my ideas are:
Magical Blade - if player is above 50% health each third attack will send a slow moving horizontal magical blade that pierces though enemies. A small reference to Zelda games - projectile don't deal a lot of daage, but pierces infinite number of enemies in wide area.
Dash-slash - holding down aiming button charges up attack that send player flying in straid line in direction where he's looking damageing everything on his way. A second dash, that can also be used for even more mobility.
