Can someone explain compression lows? New to CGMs (and diabetes)

Hi all! I’m new to diabetes and we don’t even know what type I have yet (but it type 3c looks like the main suspect). I have looked online for this info, but don’t understand ‘compression lows’.

The online info says compression lows are a V-shape. My graph shows a more gradual decline, but sharply improves after I woke up feeling godawful (without sugar).

What ways can I differentiate between a compression low and a low-low?

How do you guys cope when your illness progresses and you lose more function?

I’ve been a wheelchair user for a while now, so I’m used to it. However, I’ve gotten worse at sitting up over the last few years, and in the last couple of months it’s got so bad that I’ve had to buy a harness (front opening) to attach myself to my chair to avoid falling out. I’ve also lost the strength in my shoulders so can’t push a manual chair anymore. I can’t use my travel electric chair because of the sitting issue- it’s not supportive enough. Only my big tilt in space chair is possible.

This saddens me for 2 reasons. 1) I can’t visit my mum anymore, she lives 180miles away and i can’t sit in any chair for that long anymore (she can’t visit me for personal circumstances). 2) the lift in my block of flats frequently breaks (x3 this month). Before, in dire need, I could bum shuffle down the stairs with my travel electric wheelchair, but I can’t use it anymore. Nothing will get my big wheelchair down the stairs except the lift! The council also refuses to rehouse me because technically I have a lift (they ignore the fact that it doesn’t work half the time).

I am just fed up of losing functionality and then having to find ways to fund ever more adaptations with no more income.

Anyone else deal with this?

31F accidentally annoying the nurses in a&e? They’ve called security?

Edit: thanks guys for being understanding, I was half expecting to get demolished in the comments. I’m home now. A very lovely UTC nurse spent 2 hours patching me up. Glad I stayed. Ended up being her record for the most amount of stitches in one go 🤣 I don’t even know how I would have healed it without your guys’ and the UTC nurse’s (not the mean nurse, the one that patched me up) help! The nice nurse is also going to find out which doctor saw me yesterday and have a polite word with him about which wounds you do and do not suture so that this doesn’t happen to someone else. She says steristrips should never have been used on this wound- it’s too long and in too mobile an area.

Thanks for reading

Context:
Just seeing if anyone has any ideas. I’ve got a long fat-deep open wound from outer hip to knee.
I went to a&e yesterday but they just steri-stripped it. I went to my gp’s wound clinic today and they’ve sent me back to the UTC (exactly the same place as yesterday, just different dept) because the steristrips didn’t hold and it’s completely open again. They said the wound can’t be managed in primary care and needs to be stitched closed. They’ve given me a letter.

Current problem:
I’ve been sitting in my wheelchair for 4.5hrs. No pain relief is helping. I’m not ill enough for a bed. I can’t continue to sit on an open wound that is getting increasingly irritated. I’ve therefore taken my wheelchair to a corner and sat behind it so that I can sit in such a way that I’m relieving pressure on my hip-knee edge. It’s not impeding access or in anyone’s way. Nurse is VERY annoyed. Said if I don’t move she’ll call security. I tried to explain my reasoning and offered to sit in a different place. She doesn’t care. Security came, I explained, and he’s letting me sit on the floor.

Worried nurse will now escalate it above security? Anybody in the know, that can think of a way around the impasse? I really don’t want to be a pain, but I’ve got a low pain threshold (autistic) and wound is ANGRY!

And just to clarify, in my wheelchair, it’s moulded so you can only sit straight up and down- I don’t have great core strength so it holds me in place essentially

Help! a god will kill my cat if I don’t cut better

Basically a god is gonna kill my cat (he’s a rival god) if I don’t get this cut better. I’m only half way through my cut (it has to be big), I’m getting it long but not deep. I need to get it both. I didn’t pick up any flowers which was a mistake so my little boi (cat god) is exposed. Can’t go out to get flowers now because need to cut leg to stop the god

What should I do? In the uk btw, no life threatening injuries

Scared I’m not going to fit in my manual wheelchair anymore

I’m plus sized. I have an 18” seat width manual chair that I’m not going to fit into if I put on any more weight. I’m about to go in risperidone. I know from the past that I WILL put on weight. The wheelchair costs £4k, I can’t afford to get a bigger one, and even if I could afford it, I couldn’t buy a bigger one because it wouldn’t fit through interior doors.

I’m just venting that I’m going to lose my only means of exercise.

I do have an electric wheelchair that has ‘room to grow’, so I’ll be able to get around but I’m a tad worried about my cardiovascular health as I frequently need surgeries (one coming up) and I need to keep my heart happy. Arghh

Have barely slept since Tuesday- how to cope?

I have medication induced insomnia which is completely resistant to any sleeping tablets and I’ve slept 2hrs or less every night since Tuesday.

I feel like I’m going insane. To maintain what sanity I have left, I put on YouTube videos and listen to them with my eyes closed. Does anyone have any other tips on how to stay sane with this level of sleep deprivation?

I’m starting to hallucinate dreams while I’m awake (but I know they’re dreams). To top it off, the medication has also given me akathisia so I’m twitching and moving involuntarily all the time (think restless legs but all over your body.)

I’ve come off the medication, but it will be a while before it’s out of my system. The kicker is that withdrawal from this medications causes… you guessed it… complete insomnia. Fml

Not looking for medical advice, just need coping tips on how to manage. So far I’m just staying in bed all day and night with my eyes closed because I’m just too heavy to move (I leave my bed for the necessities)
