Princess Highway sizing

I've never bought anything from Princess Highway because I've only seen them online and wasn't sure of quality. Anyway I was just at an opshop that had a bunch of PH dresses so I got a good idea of the quality and construction and was happy with that.

But, I have no idea how to size things.

I'm generally a 14.

I tried on 3 10's and a 12 and there was another 10 I didn't try on.

Two of the 10s were just too small in the shoulders/bust.

One fit perfectly

(The one I didn't try was obviously too small)

So theoretically a 12 should fit right?

But it didn't.

There were a few different dress styles in the mix and it seems like each style needs to be fitted separately. Which is, whatever in a bricks and mortar store, but I'm wondering how people are managing online.

Dodgy or not dodgy?

Are real estate agents allowed to also have a stake in a development and or design companies?

There are 2 construction companies I've noticed doing a huge amount of knock down rebuilds near me that are also pulling insane sales. Like $1.5-2m higher than the price of the surrounding houses and they're always sold pre-market by the same REA.

I noticed this and felt it was weird, and the REA's "financial year review" came in the mail showcasing a couple of the latest build/sales.

So I did a bit more digging and I cannot find any digital footprint for one of these "construction companies" except for an Instagram account - no website, no ABN lookup that matches the insta bio, nothing.

And guess who is tagged on the post or in the photos for every post.... This one REA

On further digging, every insta post has the construction company listed doing a different thing.

Some just link this company

Some list them as builders.

But some list them as design with a different architect and builder

Some list them as developers with different architects and builders

Some list as project manager

Some say nothing but link to other builders

Every single one sold for insane prices pre-market by the one real estate agent who owns the real estate company.

That's weird right?

The Census is coming

What's the bet that the POHN stand will refuse to fill it out, whilst simultaneously complaining that the government isn't providing sufficient infrastructure to cope with immigration and therefore we have to stop immigration.

From the archives - what are your old fic recommendations

In order to make sure what I'm reading isn't AI written I'm on a bit of a kick of reading older fics.

I'm currently reading Shibboleths a 2017 Drarry with Dudley helping teach Muggle Immersion at Hogwarts, the lost city of Atlantis and a twist I doubt you've seen before.

I thought it might be worth a thread for people to rec your "oldies but goodies"

Pre 2020 seems a good cutoff point

Please list the year of publication

ship if there is one

a brief summary

And maybe what site it is originally from if you know.

If you could time travel to the Whitlam Era and change Auspol future what would you change?

Thought exercise. If you woke up at the beginning of the Whitlam Era as deputy PM with your knowledge of Australia in 2026 - what would you push for? Policy, Australian culture or Labor party internal policies/practices

Rules for this thought exercise:

It has to be progressive policy in line with Whitlam's vision for a fairer Australia

That's all.

It doesn't have to be realistic - we are talking time travel

Being made to capture very personal information for AI scheme

Location: Melbourne.

Hi, I work at Chemist Warehouse in Australia, from the 22nd of June 2026 I along with other employees are being required to assist with a special AI “zone” which captures the entire store with the goal of “helping stock management”.
This requires at least 4 separate retail floor members to wear a AI camera around our necks for a minimum of 12 hours a working day.
This camera will be capturing all things happening in the store, AUGMODO “promises” they don’t use any personal info, they show a blurred image of a customer on their advertisement page, which may be all well and good for supermarket uses.

Where my worry comes into place is the Pharmacy, as someone who occasionally works on the register, I frequently deal with patient prescriptions and repeats in my view, with Full names, addresses and medications of the customers/ patients in my view, am I violating people’s rights by wearing this camera and in turn at risk of being in trouble.

No one deserves their privacy infringed and I don’t think im in need of help more than the patients but id still like to be clear.

Thank you

Looking for a unicorn - Leggings

I'm looking for leggings, that meet very specific criteria. Hoping someone can help.

I had target maternity leggings that I loved, and that lasted me 6 years. I miss them. I got the "same" leggings when I was pregnant with my youngest - they lasted one year. enshitified to hell.

I then found Kmart fleece lined leggings that I loved. They don't seem to make them anymore. the new ones are shorter. 😞 And so I have come to the hive mind for help.

Must haves:
1: Proper high waist that doesn't roll down or slide down throughout the day and can handle a pot belly.
2: Tight at the ankle. I can not handle them being loose and baggy around my ankles.
3: Properly full length - I actually prefer to have my leggings long enough to wear so the bottoms can be pulled over my heels.
4: Phone Pockets

Ideally:
1: Cotton lycra - I really hate the feel of most activewear. Unfortunately cotton feel leggings are getting harder and harder to find. If not fully cotton-lycra then lightly "fleece lined" works. Not sherpa lined though, I live in Brisbane. It's not cold enough.

2: reasonably cheap or very well made: I am prepared to pay up to $100/per if they're going to last me 3+ years. If I'm only going to get a year or two out of them, they need to be cheap.

3: come in a few colours.

Any ideas??

Alright, I concede, sometimes you can tell a fic is written by Ai

I've been pretty sceptical about the claims you can tell a fic is AI. But yesterday I started a fic that you can tell.

It makes my brain itch.

It's not just that it has all the "tells" - they're constant.

Like 4 uses of "not X but y" a scene, plus multiple metaphors that go nowhere per scene.

Then there's all the other signs: Hogwarts breathing, unnecessary repetition within the same scene, conversations that go nowhere and don't make sense, plot/world building that's constantly vague AF, insanely detailed description of places but none for side characters including OCs, and everything feeling dramatic with no payout.

All these things together in such a large volume really does make that uncanny valley effect when you read.

Portal issue

Is anyone else having a consistent issue with the portal both randomly deleting saved payees, and adding duplicates when you have toggled off the "add this payee to your saved list" button?

Budget night check in

How are we all doing today? ❤️‍🩹 I hope everyone can find something positive to focus on today so you can get through the day.

Drop your coping strategies below, maybe they will help someone else.

Mine is: Wait till tomorrow and read the reports, rather than watching it tonight if you suspect you won't be able to sleep after.
