Those of you who use LinkedIn seriously, why?

Genuinely curious why some of you feel the need to post every single personal life update like weddings, having kids, literally everything that happens at work. “I’m absolutely honored to participate in Impact Day.” “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to attend DU.” Like bro… you guys are so fucking corny if nobody’s told you yet.

Has anyone here dealt with returns/refunds?

Recently ordered Oakley HSTN Meta Glasses and didn’t like the style on me so I initiated a return. Was crickets for days so I contacted them again and they sent me a shipping label to mail it back. I mailed it back and now it’s been 1.5 weeks since delivery and no response. I emailed them and they replied back with a generic message saying it can take between 10-15 business days to get my refund. Does it really take that long?

Anyone else feel bad for USI?

I know our work hours are long, but USI seems to be working around the clock more than us. Also, any grunt work that we don’t want to do get passed to USI. It’s starting to feel like USI is a punching bag at Deloitte. Anyone else feel bad?

Got revenge on my manager

Some of you may remember that I made a post about a month ago about my manager telling me it was okay to skip out on a meeting after hours but ended up telling my coach about it. Anyways, I anonymously reported her to the chief ethics officer and talent that she was expensing stuff like souvenirs for her kids and alcohol during dinners. Last I heard she’s actually getting audited and is required to submit a bunch of receipts for her expenses dating back to 2025. Get fucked. If you’re on here I hope you have all your receipts in place.🖕

Share your embarrassing share screen or accidentally unmuted moments

Title. Over my several years working at the firm I’ve had a couple close calls. Curious if anyone has any funny stories to share.

How accurate are cost estimates through the app?

I have a paint defect on my car, looks like the clear coat is cracking but I have owned the car for right under a year now. Spoke to a service advisor in person and they said it’s out of the 7 day/100 mile warranty period. At the same time I scheduled an appointment and included some photos of the issue. This morning on the app it shows a drop off date and a cost estimate of $0. I just wanted to know if this would be accurate?

Is this a paint defect from factory?

Owned the car for about a year and just noticed this. Not sure what would cause this, seems like the paint is cracking. Would this be covered under any warranty?

Corporate culture is basically a socially accepted cult.

The more time I’ve spent in corporate jobs, the more I’ve realized how many completely made-up rules everyone treats as sacred.
Apparently asking someone how much they make is “inappropriate,” but asking what they did all weekend or whether they’re planning to have kids is somehow normal. Optional happy hours are “optional” until you stop showing up and suddenly you’re “not a culture fit.” Everyone pretends to be passionate about the company’s values, laughs at the boss’s jokes, and fills meetings with buzzwords instead of saying what they actually mean.
It’s like there’s an unwritten script for how you’re supposed to dress, talk, email, network, and even socialize if you want to be seen as successful. None of these rules have much to do with doing your actual job well.
It feels less like a workplace and more like a club where fitting in is often valued as much as competence.

Manager is a rat

Was scheduled for an “urgent” meeting after hours yesterday and told my manager that out of respect for my personal work/life boundaries I will be sitting out for this call. (My wife wasnt feeling well and I needed to take care of my 3 year old) Keep in mind this was after a 10 hour work day for me. Manager said she understood and that I can sit out for this meeting. This morning I get a call from my coach and “coincidentally” he mentions that we should prioritize my calls unless I have an actual emergency. wtf? I swear you can do things right 100 times at this firm but the moment you don’t, you get ratted on. So many rats at this firm that wait for you to slip up just to tattle tale on you. God I hate this place.

Those who left the firm, where are you at now?

Whether you’ve been laid off or resigned, where did you end up going and are you happier there? I’ve been here for a little over 4 years so it feels like my time is up but I’m not really sure where I want to go from here. My mental health is at an all time low so I’m honestly open to going anywhere other than consulting. If McDonald’s paid more I would be open to it. Anyone else feel the same?

Having Deloitte on your resume does not weigh as much as you think

After 4 years here, I've realized the whole "stay for the resume" argument is massively oversold and people preach that having Deloitte on your resume will get you many new opportunities. It does not. I've applied to around 120 job applications and haven't gotten a single interview. The reality is that most employers care far more about your actual skills, relevant experience, and whether you've built expertise in something meaningful. We all know that working here is just doing grunt work for leadership or bouncing around from project to project in different roles, hindering you from developing deep expertise in a specific area. You just become a generalist who knows a little about a lot of things but isn't truly specialized in anything. You're also competing with thousands of applicants, many with ex big 4 experience cause of how saturated the market is with all the recent layoffs. So this whole myth really is just a way for Deloitte to brand itself as a golden ticket to transitioning into industry.

To get promoted, you should already be performing at the next level

Dumbest shit I’ve heard. I’m going to work accordingly to my pay scale. You want me to perform on the next level then you pay me the salary of the next level. Don’t let this firm take advantage of you with this nonsense.

This place sucks.

Does anyone else feel that everyone at this firm is super fake and superficial? All the conversations feel so forced. Compliments are backhanded. Everyone’s so quick to throw one another under the bus. Leadership says one thing, then on your performance review they say something else. This place is horrible. If you genuinely enjoy working here you have no soul.

Hey guys I’m having a plastic rattling noise coming from somewhere in the dash or steering column. It produces the noise at speeds from 20-65 mph. Does anyone else have this similar issue and know where the noise is coming from?
