Risograph shops in London

I’ve recently discovered risographs, I’ve been a fan of the cool effect of silkscreens for a while so risographs seem like the next level of that. I‘d discovered them on a vacation in Brussels where there was a cool shop that sold them. I also like how cheap they were compared to the average giclee print. I’m still a teenager and I don’t have much money to spend on art. I’m having trouble finding a place in London were I could buy risographs as I live nearby, do you have any recommendations?

Looking for a place to find comix and prints in London.

I‘ve just been to Belgium and I was mesmerised by how vibrant the comics scene is there, there was this one shop in Brussels that sold both zines and prints from the local community there. I love how surreal some of them were, some just had random pictures with no storyline at all. I’ve since returned and I believe that there must be a similar scene happening in London with comix and design from the local artist community, but I don’t know where these places are. Do any of you have any recommendations of any shops and galleries in this scene? I am very new to alternative comix.

Should I aspire to become a “mad” scientist?

This is not strictly a biology question but more of a science question in general and biology is some I’m really interested in doing. I’ve always wanted to become a scientist because I’ve always liked the cool Sci-fi ideas that people discussed about, such as biological computers using braincells, programmable matter and everything the Thought Emporium does. Now I’ve gotten closer to adulthood and I am wondering if that is too impractical to aspire to (with funding, etc.) and that they will only be mere flights of fancy. I just wanted to get this off my mind and ask what other scientists think. Thanks in advance for replies!

I Cannot Enjoy Video Games Despite Wanting to

I‘ve been trying to find someone who shares this problem. I see all of these references and discussions on gaming and I really want to play some of the games that are talked about (fighting games, platformers and the such). So I start playing some of these games and then I run into problems.

Like I’ll be playing a game for a few hours with few problems and then I run into a hard to beat enemy or challenge. I may start panicking because I am pulled out of a focus state and then I fail because I‘ll press a bunch of buttons thinking that I am doing something when I‘m really not. I cannot do anything strategically in a short amount of time that hasn’t been planned before then. The thing is is that a lot of the games I’m eager to play those mechanics that I struggle with (I tried playing one of the Punch-Out games and lost to Glass Joe, I’m not even kidding).

Even when I beat a hard challenge I actually become discouraged from playing the game more, I did not like that anxious feeling from the challenge, I feel that later on I would run into a similar obstacle where I would go into those emotions again, therefore getting discouraged and eventually dropping it. I’ve always wanted to get into these types of games, the community and the games themselves seem cool, some people say that these games were life-changing for them yet I cannot get myself to enjoy these games.

Has anyone one else experienced this? Where you able to overcome it?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

A baby vomited near me. Need help.

I’m very scared right now, I was in a restaurant when I noticed a baby about two feet away with a glob of food on their bib that I’m not sure was there a second ago with a bunch of liquid, I can tell if it’s a stomach bug or spitting up.

Why have I never enjoyed video games?

*New to this sub.*

I want to enjoy gaming, yet through my entire life (17y) I have rarely enjoyed any of them to the point that I would like to return playing later. I want to play other things other than the occasional Tetris or Mario Kart, like open world, fighting games and those other games that people seem to enjoy, but in the end I get bored, confused or frustrated and sometimes a combination of the three and I shelf the game that I’m playing.

I believe that I have dyspraxia, as I share many symptoms of it, but I remain undiagnosed. This may be one of the reasons that I have trouble with video games.

I have no motivation to play video games, yet deep down, I want to. I feel that I am missing out on something that everyone else has experienced, yet I don’t know what to do.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Will my emotions be a problem for me on E?

*New to this sub.*
I‘ve heard that people on E tend to feel their emotions more, I’m nervous that I would become more unstable as I have trouble regulating my emotions already. I also see myself as a person who is very sensitive with letting out emotions in public, but I’ve heard others who’ve said that they cry more easily and I’m nervous about feeling this way due to my inner sensitivity. Is this anything to worry about? Thanks!

P.S. Also, does E only affect emotions on the neurological side or does it also affect other things? Will I lose interest in things that I enjoy? Sorry for rambling.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Just the title really, I’m new to this sub. I feel more emotional when I am alone, very introspective, but this is not the case when I interact with someone.

I posted this earlier but deleted it because I wasn’t sure about how good my claim was, but I’m reposting it here, apologies for the confusion.

When I see people talk about my generation not wanting to have sex as much as previous generations they appear to frame it as always a negative thing. This maybe true for certain people who do want sex but can’t due to social and mental reasons, I feel that for many others it is not a bad thing at all.

I personally take issue with people believing that sex is always one of the most vital parts in life (I feel that this is what separates sex-positivity from that which I call sex-toxicity) and that when people have less of it, it is an indicator of a failing relationship. They fail to take into account that many Gen Z-ers simply just aren’t into it, we may just be less inclined to have a more hedonistic lifestyle than previous generations. It is unfortunately true that some of us want to police sex in society, this is a very small minority of people which the majority of ourselves do not want to be associated with.

I feel that those obsessed with our sex lives (the sex-toxic, who are different to the sex-positive who just want sex to become more accepted in society) are compromised of rich conservatives who want us to become breeding machines of new workers and people who somehow cannot wrap their heads around the fact that some people just don’t want to have sex whether it be because of mental health or social problems or just simply do not want to have a sexual relationship.

I have a bit of a sensitive stomach (a common trait for autistic people, which I’ve found out recently) and I find it hard to eat or even smell anything with really intense flavors. However, I want to travel to foreign countries, a lot of them being known for intensly-flavored cuisine, I don’t know what to do about this as I’ll not really be around foods that I’m more used to. How should I get around this? Is it really anything to worry about?

Thanks in advance for the replies!
