Team Building
Help me pick my next 3 mons.
Haven’t played HGSS in about 12 years, I was pretty young so I never beat Red, and I’m on a revenge tour.
Used to be a Cyndaquil guy, but decided to try Meganium because I think the shiny is cool.
Tyranitar is the gen 2 pseudo so it only makes sense I do a run with the GOAT. I’m going to trade over an egg from platinum after I complete the first gym. Thinking of it as a good luck present from the Sinnoh champion to the new Johto rookie.
Never have had a Seadra, but only seems right to include the gen 2 semi-pseudo.
Here is where I need some help. Need 2 more mons, one must be a flyer. Give me your picks to round out this squad.
Edit: No legendaries. Spammed Lugia in every run I ever played and still couldn’t beat red lol.
Shiny Chikorita Hunt Begins
Let’s see how long this one takes, got lucky with my first hunt ever. ~70 SRs for Giratina in Platinum.
Improvement or Not?
S29 ranked vs S28 ranked. Better KD, more kills, and better damage output on average, but half as many wins and a good amount less top 5s. Picture taken at the same point, right when I hit D4 in split 2. Would y’all consider this improvement or regression?
The State Of Pathy Is Unfortunate
Pathfinder is honestly the most fun character to play in the game. I truly think that the grapple is the most OP movement mechanic in the game for the outplays it can create and sheer creativity that it offers.
Pathfinder is just too slow of a character in this fast paced game. Not even the grapple god perk is that much of upgrade due to the cooldown time. Even the cooldown time for the zipline, an underwhelming but useful mechanic, has an insane cooldown time. I also acknowledge Pathy needs a true passive, (I think that the ability to heal on any zipline would be perfect) but his ability to keep up with other legend abilities in such a fast paced version of apex is lacking.
Pathfinder would be much better if there was some extra team utility within his kit. I say integrate double zipline into his base kit like octane has with the jump pad. Decrease the cooldown by 30 seconds. Like I said earlier, the zipline is a useful mechanic but players have become adept at shooting people off of ziplines so it is not the biggest buff. Also for a little extra team utility, you should be able to grapple downed teammates. Not super OP just a fun little thing to add to his kit.
Replace the blue perk with something like faster weapon handling for 5-10 seconds after knock. Pathy is inherently good at isolated fights due to his grapple and ability to get an angle for an entry knock. What are most pathfinders doing after an entry knock? Grappling in. Give his big hitbox some forgiveness with the ability to tip 3v3s in your favor with good gunplay and rewarding capitalizing on damage.
Just a couple of ideas and my gripes about my main legend. Wish they would show the mascot of the franchise some love. Let’s let the rumors of a buff be true🤞🏼.
What Is Your Warmup Routine?
Just wondering if anyone else has a warmup routine. Developed one that gets me pretty hot and ready, about 10 mins in the range getting some recoil management done as you can see here, then I will do some back and forth target switching with the wingman to get my “flicks” down (as much as I can flick on controller lol). I like doing this with the two targets ground level right in the front of the range as well as the far target in the middle of the jump tower. Anyone have some good warmups to add?
I love sitting in the phase bubble with 2 downed ppl. What floor y’all going to? I’ll press the button.
Cousin got his first Tom, I settled for the tender meat.
