Advice for prepping for over a week of back to back long hours?

Hi there, in a couple weeks time I will be working very long hours over the course of a week (12-15 + 1/2 hrs each back to back) and I presume we won't be fed onsite so I'll need to prep at least 21 meals if not 24, ideally all in one go. I've done prep before and for evening meals will probably just make freezer meals I can microwave and shove in my face every night but I'm a bit more confused as to how I could go about lunches without making overnight oats and prepping a lunch every night. Are there any breakfasts/overnight oat esque things you can freeze and thaw? Furthermore, ideally I don't want to bring lunches I'll have to microwave because I don't know if I'll have access to one onsite (I'm stewarding so they might just dump me out on a random street and leave me there for 12 hours) - ideally I'd make some sort of sandwiches/snack packs I could freeze and throw in some long life stuff and eat that as a packed lunch every day after thawing, but I have no idea if that's possible, although I have heard pasta freezes well so that is always a backup plan. I am vegan so that does make things a bit more difficult. Any advice on thaw-and-eat or long life breakfasts and lunches? Very sorry if this indicates I don't know things that I really should at my age and just haven't learned, please be kind

How to transfer authenticator to new phone for stripe?

Hi there,

I use stripe to for my chuffed account where I am running fundraisers on behalf of other people. When I set it up I did so with Microsoft authenticator on my old phone, however a few months later I got a new phone and I haven't been able to transfer my authenticator for stripe onto my new phone - I have been able to do so for other accounts (e.g my uni email verification is fine) but even after following the authenticator change process from stripe the one on my new phone appears to be connected to my account however generates a random password which is different to the one on my old phone and can't be used to get me into my account. Anyone know what to do? I don't want to delete my authenticator on my old phone till I'm sure I can get in without it, but I need to be able to get in without it because my old phone is quite janky and I can't take it everywhere and I am a bit worried It'll die on me someday

How am I supposed to have positive self esteem with this?

I grew up with conditional self esteem - largely hinging on academic performance, but always experiencing clumsiness, ditziness, poor problem solving, poor spatial awareness etc which I now think are related to my predisposition to OCD - OCD hit at 16 and since then I have been so much less able to do shit to a level the neurotypical/non disabled world wants me to. I went from an academically high achieving kid to a uni student who's scraping through the main part of their degree. I can't keep my house clean, I can't read properly, I can't find time to exercise, I can't get better at stuff, and I'm surrounded by interesting capable people who are able to use their skills to form a suit of invulnerability around themselves - whereas mental vulnerability is all I know because I couldn't for a second convince anyone I was strong or cool. I prefer my honesty but it's also humiliating. All this is to say I accept my OCD as a disability because otherwise I'll have to beat myself up twice as much for not managing the bare minimum in life - how the fuck am I supposed to feel okay about myself when I have to take from my community rather than contribute to it? Maybe it's just internalised ableism but the majority of people talking about self esteem aren't talking from this vantage point - they have unique and valuable things about themselves that make them an asset to their community, I don't. I am not particularly good at anything anymore. How the hell am I going to develop unconditional self esteem, particularly one that doesn't make me lazy because I'm not longer using self hatred to fuel what work I do do? And that isn't getting into how moral scrupulosity consistently convincing me I am the devil incarnate impacts my self image. I have to admit it makes me feel better to feel sorry for myself about this because I don't think I could access the happiness that came from being a productive person who does everything they are supposed to do and is fully healthy can have. Idk, let me know if you have any thoughts

Looking for opportunities to play music with folk, ideally in the west end, thats not too exclusive to high level players?

Hi, uni dickhead here. I play bass semi-intermediately (but have been bad at consistently practicing since having to be an adult) and I have a bodhrán I'm learning to play. I also played cello for nearly a decade but mostly only learned how to play my grade pieces (Covid n stuff) but could get back into it with some assistance. I left some of the UofG music clubs because of men being shitty, basically. However this is the longest I've gone in nearly a decade without involving myself in some kind of school bandish/playing music with people kind of thing and it's eating away at my soul a bit lol. I'm not looking to join a small gigging band per se (did put a post in one of the "musicians wanted and available" FB groups and got a couple offers) but mostly I want to play music with people in an environment that's not too exclusive for skill level cause I'm definitely a bit rusty. I'm used to playing from sheet music but am happy to try my hand at jams/other ways of playing in ensemble. I'm down to play any genre that's not strictly classical, I think I'd like to try trad (was gonna join GUtradsoc cause it's beginner friendly but I am a bit apprehensive) but I'm used to doing film score music and jazz/blues/soul. Anyone got any recs for groups/bands I could go to recreationally play music with? Definitely open to ones that do gigs as long as they're not expecting me to be a professional musician/show up to every one lol, I'm interested in doing it for fun.

Edit : would prefer around the west end but am happy to travel around for it at least in the summer, I've heard there might be some good stuff southside

Affordable outdoor shops accessible by bus/walking?

Hi, slightly skint uni wanker here. I'm working a festival in a few days and still need to get a torch that won't immediately break (will need it for other shifts) , a plain black cap and ideally a waterproof hat of sorts (also plain black/unbranded) because my uniform doesn't have a hood. Thought an outdoor shop would probably be best for this but I know if I go to any of the ones I've been too before in the city centre etc it will end up costing me way too much. Anyone got any suggestions for shops/locations that are more affordable? Thanks
