Won't eat dandelion weeds

I have two other red eared sliders. They are both 20 years old now and they ate reptomin floating sticks their whole life.

Now I am trying to feed them floating sticks only 3 times a week, and leafy greens other times. They finally willing to eat lettuce if I starve them a bit. But they will never eat the dandelion greens.

Should I give up on the dandelion greens?

--- note, they will eat banana, apple and carrots. They like eating non-green things

Does my 20 year old turtle need to go on a diet?

I've had this turtle for over 20 years. My family has fed this turtle every day the reptomin floating sticks.

Is she considered over weight right now? Her shell length is about 10 inches.

We are trying to feed her lettuce and dandelion weeds every other day. She is starting to eat the lettuce , but only if we stop feeding the floating sticks for a few days....and no matter what, she won't eat the dandelion weeds

Is this a Cantonese song from the 80s/90s?

There is a melody that is stuck in my head, but I don't know where it came from. I have a feeling it is a cantonese song from a Hong Kong singer back in the 80s or 90s. But i'm not sure.

I tried to play the melody on my guitar

Does anyone recognize what the song is?

Draft idea - composing a lead

https://reddit.com/link/1vimvk6/video/aeomrafs03ih1/player

I want to create a guitar solo for a song I heard. I am still new to making guitar solos and I don't have a process....

I thought I'd start by just playing the melody, and try to improvise around it. I could use some help/ideas/pointers on how to come up with more ideas.

In this video, the first part is me being as faithful as possible to the original melody.

Then part 2 is me trying to be creative...This is round 1 of who knows how many rounds...any advice on how to come up with ideas would be greatly appreciated !

Understand phone internet speed at various locations on my cottage

I have a cottage on Trent River. The cottage is surrounded by trees in the middle of a 200ft by 100ft land. About 100ft north of my room is the Trent river.

I use my phone data plan as wifi for my laptop computer. Here are the average internet speeds at various locations on my property (speed units in Mbps, took many measurements):

  1. In my bed room: 4 down, 5 up
  2. 100ft north of my room, on the river bank: 20 down, 0.5 up
  3. 110ft north of my room, on the dock, on the water: 70 down, 0.8 up

I was curious why upload speed would decrease so drastically despite the download improving so drastically. And if there's any external device I can attach to my LG Velvet phone (a phone from 2020) to improve this....Or if getting a new phone would improve this. I want to stay on my existing FIDO plan and not buy a separate internet plan.

Female Adult Red Eared Sliders won't eat greens....

I have 3 female adult red eared sliders. They each have shell length of 9 inches to 10 inches. They are all 23 years old. Throughout their whole life, I only ever fed them Tetra Reptomin Floating sticks. I've been a lazy owner so i never paid attention to their health or nutrition.

But this year, I decided to pay more attention. I read that the RES at this age should be 20% floating sticks and 80% leafy greens.

This week, I tried giving them lettuce and also the dandelion weeds. But all they do is chew it up and spit it back out, so then it's just shredded bits of green everywhere .

They will eat carrots, banana, and apple. But i read these should be "snacks/treat", like the way humans would eat candy...just as a small dessert.

I'm not sure how to get my RES to eat anything green.

Should i just go back to just floating sticks?

Accidentally drained boat battery

I'm still a new learner of boats. Yesterday when I got into my boat, I noticed the onboard stereo was on....that is the stereo button was in the on position but the digital displays were not illuminated. This meant that I forgot to turn off the stereo last week before leaving cottage, and the battery was draining for a whole week

None of the electronics worked. So I took out the battery (attached picture) and used a moto master 12V 3A charger. Initially the charger is flashing green on the charger meter meaning it is in charging state. After a few hours, the charger shows a flashing red, indicating the battery did not charge up or hold its charge. I unhooked and then rehooked the charger to battery and repeated the charging process. Same result

I borrowed my friends multimeter and it shows the battery is at 7.5V

This battery and the boat was originally purchased in summer of 2019 by a previous owner.

I was wondering if my battery is considered dead, or if it's still alive but I just need to try charging a few more times? Or let me know what I should do next!

Zelda - distortion and boss synth

I was trying another setting on my synth pedal. When playing it straight through the amp, I can hear the synth more. But once it goes into my daw, the synth is so hard to hear...

Experiment: Electric Guitar + Flute Recorder + Boss SY1

This was a fun experiment! The original song is orchestral. I can't play orchestral instruments. So I worked with what I've got...my guitar, boss synth pedal and flute recorder! Sounds like the original, but also not really...it's so weird!

Shallow well pump turns on but does not draw water (no suction)

I have a shallow well pump for my cottage. These are the details printed on it:

MOD: S48E11B67

Volts: 115/230

Amps: 8.6/4.3

RPM 3450

SER: 05809J2

Type S A.O. Smith Corp Mexico

SP Scarboro Pump MFG Co. LTD

MOD: MON-MJS50

SER 780C4

I also attach a picture

https://preview.redd.it/6d8rxssozw6h1.png?width=899&format=png&auto=webp&s=48eb77e648c05f46a235ba95999f40feb5976320

I'm not sure how old this pump is. I moved into the cottage in 2020, so it is at least 6 years old. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 20 years old.

The intake of the pump comes directly from the well. The well is perfectly full with water. There is a foot valve at the end of the hose in the well.

Last week around 9pm, I noticed that the pump turned on, but would then jsut stay on and never turn off. This has never happened ever before. I did not notice any leaks in the house or anywhere else. The water pressure still existed because we continued to use the shower for showering and some water for washing dishes. After about an hour, i decided to completely turn off the electricity to the pump and troubleshoot things in the morning.

When i woke up the next morning, there was no pressure to any of the faucets in the house.

I went to turn on the pump again. It turned on, but water pressure never built up. I disconnected the output line of the pump, and a few liters of water spurted out.

I reprimed the pump, connected the hose, and turned on the pump. I waited a a minute or so, but it doesn't seem to be sucking up any water from the well...normally I can hear the water start to make its way into system. I repeated a few more times but still water pressure doesn't build. And anytime i disconnect the hoses, a couple liters of water spurts out.

I tried disconnecting the intake line and turning on the pump for a few seconds. When i place my hand by the intake valve, i don't notice any air suction at all.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

---- UPDATE / EDIT

I just tried another test.

I disconnected the intake line from the pump. I asked my friend to place his thumb on the intake. I reprimed the pump with water. Then i turned on the pump. My friend says he can feel the pump trying to suck in his thumb. He's says it's notiecable, but he's not sure how "strong" of a suction he should be feeling.

I connected everything back up and turned on the pump. After about 15 minutes, the taps in my house can emit a mild stream of water, similar stream intensity like pouring milk into a bowl of cereal: a gentle steady smooth continuous stream to avoid splashing and making a mess.

--- UPDATE 2

OK, i connected all the lines back up. And now everything is working properly again. The house has water pressure. The pump automatically stops once pressure is full.

--- UPDATE 3

I decided to disconnect the pump again, let the water drain from the house and the pump. I did NOT touch the foot valve in the well.

i then re-primed everything, hooked everything back up, turned on the pump. After just a few minutes, my house has full water pressure. But this time ,the pump did not automatically shut off. After 15 minutes, it was still running. I turned on the shower faucet to let it fill a 30L pail, and it did so normally with constant normal water pressure the whole time. I turned off the shower faucet and waited another 10 or so minutes, and the pump is still running.

So now I am back to the original issue I ran into last week.

--- UPDATE 4

I turned off the pump. I went to the well. Pulled the well hose out of hte water and then i noticed that the foot valve was spraying a mist of water in several fine cracks and water was also dripping out.

So I guess my problem has been this foot valve? I didn't notice these cracks last week...but maybe that was because I did the check in the morning after these issues....the morning after all the water pressure was lost already, and I would not have noticed the cracks. But then, why during update 2, did everything seem to work normally again?

Anyway, I'll replace the foot valve tomorrow and see waht happens.

Learning to Read Corolla 2012 Dipstick (again)

The first time i tried to ask, i didn't get any useful answer. This time, i tried something different. I did the following:

a) Drove for 10 minutes at 60km/hr. I didn't notice anything unusual.
b) Park on levelled ground
c) Waited overnight
d) Took out the dipstick and cleaned it
e) Wait 30 minutes. I want the oil in the dipstick tube to drain back into engine
f) Put the dipstick into the dip stick tube with dimples facing upwards
g) wait 2 seconds
h) take dipstick out but try to be as parallel to the ground as possible

Then i took pictures of the dipstick. There is a line 1 cm above the highest dimple. So this means I overfilled right? This is extremely dangerous and harmful to the car right?
