Wrong Boy-Who-Lived recommendations

For those interested in the Wrong Boy-Who-Lived trope with complex world-building and mature themes, these two ongoing works by  notdexterousatallare highly recommended. Both offer refreshing, high-quality deviations from standard fandom clichés.

Internal Alchemy

Lily and James are alive, and Harry is at Ilvermorny, but everyone thinks he is a squib.

Pyrolysis

A 40-year-old Harry Potter wakes up in his childhood cupboard in an alternate universe. His living parents abandoned him to raise his twin, the heralded savior

Harry leaves Hogwarts, the UK, or the Wizarding World

Thanks for previous recommendations!

I'm looking for stories where Harry walks away from it all. He either has no interest in fighting, or someone close to him takes him away and helps him realize that his life is completely abnormal for a schoolkid, even by wizarding standards.

Any recommendations for completed works or those that are actively updating would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for stories where Harry walks away from it all. He either has no interest in fighting, or someone close to him takes him away and helps him realize that his life is completely abnormal for a schoolkid, even by wizarding standards.

I'm totally open to crossovers, and any pairing, rating, or category is fine.

Thanks in advance for any links!

Adult Harry / Tom Riddle or Voldemort (No school-age / Hogwarts era)

I'm looking for fics featuring Tomarry (or similar pairings) where both characters are strictly adults. No school-age settings or teenage years for either of them.

I am open to time travel to the 1950s or later when Tom is already an adult. I also like post war or resurrection stories where Voldemort returns when Harry is already a grown man. Alternative pairings like Harry and Orion Black or Harry and Abraxas Malfoy are also welcome as long as everyone is an adult in the past.

Any recommendations for completed works or those that are actively updating would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

P.s. Consider this recommendation my bribe to you. A total hidden gem where Harry and Voldemort get close during a pandemic with a coup happening in the background.

Ilya’s over-the-top Russian courting

An idea popped into my head, and I can't stop thinking about it.

They are still hockey players.

Ilya, who grew up in Russia in the early 2000s, courts Shane in a very traditional Russian style: bouquets of 101 roses, gold jewelry, fur coats, and cars wrapped in giant bows.

Obviously, everyone is in shock. Does Mama Yuna think Shane is being stalked by someone from the mafia?

Please, if you have come across a fanfic like this, share the link in the comments.

And if you suddenly feel inspired to write this, please do!

"There must always be a Stark in Winterfell" was a part of blood magic

^(What if the phrase "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell" wasn't just one of the family mottos, but a literal warning about the castle's blood magic and defense systems?)

^(I see two possible ways this could play out:)

  • ^(The Castle Fights Back: When Theon takes Winterfell and Bran and Rickon flee, the magic detects the absence of Stark blood. The castle itself begins to actively sabotage the Ironborn—collapsing walkways, dropping temperatures to freezing extremes in specific rooms, or jamming gates.)
  • ^(The Long Night Defense: Winterfell has a built-in magical barrier against Wights and White Walkers, but it requires a ritual activation using Stark blood.)

^(Would this hidden knowledge truly remain lost forever with the tragic deaths of Rickard, Brandon, Ned, and Robb? Or would someone like Bran, Jon, or even an accidental discovery in the Crypts manage to unlock these ancient secrets just in time before the Army of the Dead arrives?)

^(P.s. Has anyone stumbled upon fanfics with a similar concept? I’d love to check them out! If you want to use this ideas in your fanfic - your welcome!)
