Looking into Nanit

FTM, baby will be here next month. I am still deciding on a camera to use and would like insights regarding Nanit. We would not use the subscription services.

  • Which mount? Floor? Wall? Flex?
  • Are the care logs useful? Can you access them without the subscription? I like the idea of having the care logs and camera under one app instead of having multiple apps.
  • Would you recommend Nanit? If not, what other camera would you suggest? Mainly looking for a camera without a subscription that my husband and I can view on our phones or computer while at work

Help me pick a camera please!!

FTM, baby will be here next month. I cannot for the life of me decide on a camera. Currently looking into the Owlet Sight, Nanit, Harbor, and Eufy Spaceview. I would love a camera that does not require a subscription service, has good night vision, good security, and that I would be able to view on my phone or computer while at work.

How many pumps for FTM? Returning to work & travel

FTM due in September. I plan on EPing for multiple reasons and am now wondering how many pumps are reasonable. I plan on going back to work after my 12-week maternity leave and plan on working until I give birth. I work bedside in healthcare, and my co-workers who pump sometimes have a hard time getting time to pump, and because of that, some pump while at the desk charting, etc. (I am not opposed to doing this, but am aware it is not ideal).

With that said, I have a Spectra S1 that we purchased during Prime Days, and have gotten back up parts for it as well. I chose the Elvie for my pump through insurance since that, and the Eufy S1 seem to be the most discreet for when people pump outside of the lactation rooms at work (Eufy was not an option with my insurance). I will be working 8hr shifts 3x/week when I come back from leave. Also, annoyingly, EVS will sometimes just sit or take their breaks in lactation rooms, making them unavailable for people who need to pump. I work day shift now, but when I was on nights, nursing and other specialties would also nap in the lactation rooms, making them unavailable... so basically, I cannot rely on them.

I have recently become interested in the Baby Buddha or the Pumpables Genie Advanced. Would either of these even be necessary for me? I like the idea of the portability and having it be a primary pump (both mine and my husband's families are 2.5hrs away from where we live, so pumping in the car will be necessary at some point). But at the same time, I feel insane for wanting 3 pumps. My work also has the Medela pumps, but as stated above, sometimes pumping breaks are not super feasible, or the lactation rooms are plain unavailable for various reasons.

Is this reasonable? too much? Advice greatly appreciated.

Planning for Postpartum - Insights Appreciated

I am looking into Billings or Marquette due to their postpartum protocols, as I *really* would love to not have HBC postpartum. My OB seems nervous about this plan, which I feel like is common. Pre-pregnancy, I did Sensiplan with TempDrop for ~1 year and there was one cycle where we had a potential pregnancy scare due to a misunderstanding with the method. After this, we switched to Natural Cycles (NC) utilizing an Oura ring. We successfully used that for 2.5 years for TTA and then later for TTC. I know NC is not a FAM/NPF method and gets hate on here, but it worked really well for us during that time in our lives. I appreciate the familiarity I have with NC, but would like to learn and use a method that is better for postpartum. I will likely continue NC while I learn whichever method for postpartum due to my familiarity/comfortability and as a backup until I am comfortable. I do plan to exclusively pump.

For Billings, has anyone taken the online Billings courses? Are they worth it?? If not, there is an instructor near me, so this would not be the end of the world.

For Marquette, I have seen postpartum pregnancies, which is what I am looking to avoid, so this method makes me a little nervous regarding that. Clear Blue vs Mira?? I frequently see the Mira strips being out of stock, which feels stressful if you're relying on that.

Is one of these methods truly better than the other for postpartum? Insights appreciated. Please no hate on NC, as it worked well for me, I acknowledge that it is not an approved method, and I am looking and trying to plan ahead for postpartum.

Donut Recs

I know there’s multiple posts about donut shops.. but I’m looking for something specific. I’m in DESPERATE search for a chocolate creme donut. Dunkin seems to have phased them out and I’ve been craving them for over a week. Please help a pregnant lady out 😭😭😭
