Should LOSSAN build a temporary station/platform at Trestles Beach for LA 2028?

Not sure if I already asked this or not.. While there is access to the beach via trails from a nearby parking lot next to Carl's Jr on Cristianitos Rd and San Onofre State Beach, no doubt it would become crowded as people would flock to see the surfing event for LA 2028, not to mention having to hike on the trails to and from. With LA28's push for transit first access to the games, could and should LOSSAN explore adding a temporary platform along a section of track close to the beach, much akin to the quick build asphalt platforms created for the Antelope Valley Line, for the duration of the games, or should another option be explored such as improvements to the dirt paths and what not?

Predictions for the Atheltics & Para Atheltics Marathon routes?

Before year's end, we're supposed to receive the routes for Atheltics Marathon (finish location too), Race Walk (rumored to be Grand Park), and Para Athletics Marathon, so in the meantime lets have fun by predicting/guessing!

For any fellow Angelinos here, where do you guys want/predict the Atheltics Marathon finish to be at, and what route would it take? Para Atheltics now has a confirmed finish at Memorial Coliseum so only question is what route should it take?

Personally, I would love for Atheltics Marathon, if the finish location were to be the same as Para Atheltics at the Memorial Coliseum, to have a "Hollywood" route that passes through SaMo, Westside, Beverly Hills, Sunset Strip, Hollywood, Echo Park and DTLA, while Para Atheltics Marathon either uses an "Inglewood" route that passes thru Marina Del Ray, Culver City, Playa, Westchester, Inglewood, Crenshaw, and MLK or follows a similar route that the 1984 marathon took. Vise versa works for me as well.

So, what did you guys get from the Visa Pre-Sale?

Did you get what you wanted overall? Struggled and decided to get anything that was at the price you wanted? Managed to get tickets you couldn't in Drop 1? Any buyers remorse so far?

I didn't get anything because I didnt have the money for even the cheaper options and when I did, none that I wanted were available. Hoping Drop 2, if I even qualify for it, would be a more better experience, and that tickets are hopefully in much more stock but thats just wishful thinking.

Made some fictional Olympics/Paralympics logos for the fun of it. Thoughts?

Few days ago, I was inspired by someone in the Olympics subreddit who made a fictional logo, and made some myself based on this one dream I had about the games taking place in El Salvador in the 2040s.

They're based on various aspects of Salvadoran life/culture which I detailed in one image. I don't have any access to the more advanced logo making programs, I made these all on FireAlpaca and just eyeballed the best I can to make them look pleasing composition wise, using some tools to make things even and balanced. I created various versions such as lineless and B&W and included concept stuff.

What do you guys think of these?

Designed a fictional Olympics logo for a El Salvador. Thoughts?

Inspired by u/Jeremy_KhaenYT24 's fictional logo post, where I decided to make one based on that El Salvador Olympics dream I shared with you guys months ago. Yes it's unrealistic for them to ever host one with current infrastructure and such as you guys said, but I figured to give it a shot anyways. Included some extras and a reference guide to see my thought process. Thoughts?

Out with the old, in with the new

1st image: Compu Park (2018-2026)

2nd image: 2026 Stadium (under const.)

Compu Park was a stadium I made as a tribute to a friend of mine who helped build some stuff in New Sochi City. It was supposed to be part of a grand entertainment district that never materialized. It had both subway and commuter rail stations. For a while, it was called Compu Entertainment Center (which is still seen on rail signs).

The new stadium is being built more as a challenge for me to build something more 1:1, but as well as a immense new stadium thats multi purpose with the capacity to hold any sport event with the new sulphur cubes. This new stadium has the temporary name of 2026 Stadium, and will be built with a new plaza via land reclamation, along with the subway station being moved to directly connect with the commuter rail station.

I'll post more pics of the old Compu Park soonish.

What would an offline Mario Kart Tour version act like?

Before talking about what an offline version could have, lemme say how devastating it was for me to hear yesterday's news. I've been playing Mario Kart Tour since Day 1 back in September 2019, and I've seen this game go from a terrible gacha-slop to something that has decently earned the title of being a Mario Kart game. While it was never close to being on par with other Mario Kart titles, to hear that no plans for an offline version are on the table really makes me sad because I and others genuinely do enjoy playing this game even in the early days, and I hope the complaints being raised continue to grow to the point Nintendo would reconsider their plan of a full unplayable shutdown.

But what would an offline version of Mario Kart be like? Would it be similar to Pocket Camp where much of the core current gameplay is intact minus online play and microtransactions? Would it be revamped in ways to make it more like Mario Kart titles we're familiar to? What would you guys prefer for such a version to be like? Let me know as i'm curious to see what Tour players would want to see in an offline version!

I have an idea that would revamp alot of features and stuff, but it's too ambitious for Nintendo who seems to just want to get things over with this game. Maybe I'll make a post on that too.

Is this allowed?

While driving and waiting for traffic to go, I spotted this along Central. The stop was, besides a small very narrow passage way along the sign, completely blocked by vendors. I have no idea how long this has been and if this type of thing is allowed, I presume people would go on the road there between the 2 pallets to wave down a bus, but i wouldn't trust doing that.

Alright, place your bets

What kind of Mario content are you guys hoping or expecting to see in tomorrow's direct?

I want a new 3D Mario game or DLC course expansions for Mario Kart World myself but that might be asking too much.

What would a I-405 "Sepulveda" Transitway look like?

If a large chunk of the 405 were to get ExpressLanes that could double as a busway for multiple bus lines as well as a BRT Line similar to the J Line, what would you guys like for it to be like? Which places should have stations and how should they be designed (median or freeway ramp/shoulder), where should carpool exits/entries be at, should it have elevated sections? Etc, etc.

This is my own take on that concept, based on the I-405 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan. It features a hypothetical BRT line I call the T Line just for fun, but because it runs from CSULB all the way to Van Nuys, I image it being split into 2 services like with the J Line with one between UCLA and CSULB, and another between Van Nuys and LAX.

Back to the transitway, it was sorta easy imagining where stations would be on it, but I included optional ones too at some locations for various reasons, such as one at Arbor Vitae for buses who want to bypass going on street to LAX/MTC, but still want a stop in the LAX area, and at Figueroa to have a connection with the J Line without going to Harbor Gateway, and so on. Like the other ExpressLanes, I can definitely see other buses using it to reach destinations faster, like LBT's 405 Line, Culver City's Rapid 6 or some form of new "LAXpress", LAX Flyaway from Van Nuys with possible returns of Long Beach and OC routes, and potentially more.

What do you guys think? What would your takes on such a concept and any possible BRT line on it be like?

What line's station architecture style is your personal favorite?

Mostly this applies to a single line, but thanks to combinations and extensions, you can also choose segments of a line.

The way I see it, there are 9 distinct segments of lines with their own style, which are:

-(A) Blue Line: 7th/Metro - DTLB

-(A) Gold Line: Union - Pomona

-(B & D) Red Line: Union - N. Hollywood + Wilshire/Normandie and Wilshire/Western

-(E) Expo Line: LATTC/Ortho - DTSM

-(E) Edward Eastside Extension: Pico/Aliso - Atlantic

-(C & K) Green Line: Norwalk - Redondo

-G Line

-J Line

And finally we have the new modern unifying style that Metro is sticking to which im bunching together into one and includes:

-(K & C) K Line: Expo - Aviation Century

-D Line Extension: Wilshire/La Brea - Wilshire/La Cienega

-Regional Connector: Grand Av Arts - Little Tokyo

Which is your favorite?

How feasible is the idea of the Olympics in El Salvador? Asking bc of a dream

Weirdly specific question I know, but I can't shake off this dream I had last night about El Salvador hosting the games sometime in the future like in the 2040s, and it being a success. But how feasible is it for that to become a reality? El Salvador has made good improvements in various areas over the years, and they have hosted several multi sporting events before such as the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, but I ain't sure if it is infrastructure ready for such a large event as the Olympics/Paralympics, even with future projects ahead.

They definitely have the venues though, as seen with CACG 2023, they have the venues to support various summer sports, but some would need to be renovated for increased capacity either permanent or temporary I'd imagine.

Perhaps they could instead host the Youth Olympics if they ever go back to rewarding new bids? What do you guys think?

A huge explosion-like sound rattled our house sometime around 1am in the morning, woke me up tho I immediately went to sleep so I couldn't investigate. Anyone else heard that?

Should Metro add/revive Rapid lines to proposed BRT corridors to test them out for BRT implementation?

The thought crossed my mind the other day. Rapid services have often been cited to be "BRT-lite" as they dont feature all the things that makes a service fully BRT, and with some BRT corridors being proposed like those pictured above, could Metro test out some as Rapid lines to see how a BRT line along it would work and see how successful it could be? Or would it be unnecessary?
