I'm a 2026 Computer Science graduate from India, and I'm preparing to start my career in the IT industry. My long-term goal is to become a Software Engineer, but as a fresher I'm open to different entry-level IT roles that can help me gain experience and grow my career.

My current skills include:

* Java

* Spring & Spring Boot

* MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js)

* SQL

* Git & GitHub

* Data Structures & Algorithms

* HTML, CSS, JavaScript

* Personal projects and internships

I'm planning to move to Bengaluru because it seems to have the most opportunities for freshers. However, I'm confused about how people actually search for jobs there. There are so many platforms, companies, and suggestions online that I'm not sure where I should focus my time.

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have recently gone through this process or who are involved in hiring.

Some of the questions I have are:

1. What should be my overall job search strategy as a fresher?

2. Which websites or job portals are worth checking every day?

3. How do people find genuine startup openings?

4. Where can I find reliable walk-in interviews?

5. Which companies regularly hire freshers through off-campus drives?

6. Should I apply online first and move to Bengaluru only after getting interview calls, or is it better to relocate first and search from there?

7. How important are referrals, and what's the best way to ask for one without coming across as spammy?

8. Are there any Telegram channels, Discord servers, WhatsApp groups, Reddit communities, or LinkedIn groups that consistently share genuine IT job openings?

9. Approximately how many applications should a fresher submit each day to maximize their chances?

10. If you were starting from scratch again, what would your daily routine for job searching look like?

11. What are the biggest mistakes freshers make while searching for jobs?

12. Besides Software Engineer roles, which entry-level IT positions would you recommend applying for to get started in the industry?

I'm looking for practical advice rather than shortcuts. I'd like to build a structured daily plan for applying to jobs, improving my skills, networking, and preparing for interviews.

I’m currently preparing for placements and feeling a bit overwhelmed with what to focus on. I want to build a strong profile in:

- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

- Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA)

- Java (for coding interviews)

- DevOps basics

Part 1: What should I prioritize?

Out of these areas, which ones are most important for placements (especially for product-based or good service companies)?

Should I focus more on DSA first or balance everything together?

Part 2: Learning roadmap

Can someone suggest a proper roadmap to cover these step by step?

Like:

- What to start with first

- How to divide time between DSA, AI, Java, and DevOps

- When to start projects vs theory

Part 3: Resources (Playlists & Materials)

It would really help if you could share:

- Best YouTube playlists (for DSA, Java, AI, DevOps)

- Any structured courses or notes

- Practice platforms (LeetCode, Codeforces, etc.)

- Project ideas for AI or DevOps

Also, if anyone has gone through placement prep recently, I’d appreciate your experience and what worked best for you.

Now Infosys is conducting an off-campus drive for L1, L2, L3 roles.

Am I eligible to apply for these roles?

If I apply, will it affect my already secured SE offer?
