My thoughts on the movie and what actually happened with the light/eye...

I only managed to see the movie for the first time a couple days ago; have watched it twice now and checked the main theories; just wanted to write my own thoughts here.

>!Something that stood out to me was how the eye says 'agreed' as a deal has been struck. Of course this makes me think of the 'deal' Simon made with Elli. I'm thinking... BOTH Simon and Elli (Simon unwittingly) made a deal in that scene with the God. Elli gets to be 'free' and Simon 'lives'. At the end Elli is set free by her death, and Simon lives by turning into the blood tree.!<

>!I think even Elli was confused at what had truly happened inside the light (this second time, it's obvious this is the case for the first time the SM-8 crew found it), and that's why she acts conflicted (that and as she is an amalgamation of different people, they most likely have varying opinions).!<

>!Wondering if perhaps a time paradox is also in play; this was always going to happen. Simon was meant to go down there (and find the pendent), and that's why it's himself that leads him to finding it and the 'cross the wires' message via the 'shadowman'... who is himself from different moments.!<

All in all I really like this movie; I love cosmic horror anyways and I think the fact I had played the game prior to seeing this really added to my experience with it. Also... pretty sure in one of the photos I saw the outline of the original big fish monster from the game, which was neat.
