What is with all the crows?
I’ve been in Aptos and Santa Cruz since 1980. Don’t ever remember as many crows as I’m seeing these days. Anybody else notice this? What in our ecosystem has changed to support their population?

Now that some of us are taking delivery of new TCLs from the recent sales, I’d like to know what tests this group runs to check for baseline functionality and quality control of the panels. I know there are many clips on YouTube to look for dead pixels. What else do you guys look for? And of course, I know these tests are used broadly for any TV and aren’t specific to TCLs but if there is a test specific to TCLs please share. Thanks all!
The 65” is $1497 and 75” is $1697. These seem to be 3 month low prices based on camelcamelcamel and the Alexa price history. I’ve bought nearly everything else from Amazon, just not a TV. Would love to hear any first hand experiences on getting a tcl from them. US-based. Thanks guys.
Spotted just tooling around in morning commute traffic!
More data points for the Directv team if you’re monitoring this Reddit. I have had boosts of volume for every single game I’ve watched lasting 2-3 minutes. My setup is ethernet to Apple TV 4K (A2843) with TvOS 26.5. It feeds a Sony STR-AZ7000ES running in Dolby surround. It just happened while watching the 1080P version on Fox (channel 47 in the 95003 zip code). I was watching the Brazil-Haiti match and it occurred live at 12:20 into the game.
Currently using Xfinity in Seascape but wondering if we’ll ever have some choice for high speed ISPs. I see on broadbandmap.ca.gov that there are some addresses off Clubhouse Dr. that do have 5 gig fiber. Just wondering if ATT has plans to expand that footprint or if they’re stalled out. Thanks!
We’ve lost a jazz legend. Had recently spun up “Way Out West”, too.
I got annoyed with my mixing bowl lifting off the counter during coil folds so I got these cheap table suction cup pads that do a great job anchoring down the bowl. Not a life changing hack by any means but I could see it helping during some of the initial mixing too.
Recipe for the bots:
500 bread flour, 350 g water, 100g starter, 10g kosher salt
Radiohead released OK Computer on May 21, 1997. Such a seminal album. Who bought a copy when it first came out?
Finally had to find some blunt tweezers to fish it out.
Been debating this with some friends. To me, it sounds like the edge of a pick run down a wound guitar string. But also could be a very distorted pedal sound. I don’t play guitar so a bit of a blind spot there. You hear it again at 14:00. Thanks guys.
