Politic Check

I think one of the best things about Redbar is his political ambiguity/adaptability. He's obviously been right-adjacent, right-affiliated in the past but also knows when the right is fucking retarded. I deeply respect people that can call out their own party for bullshit.

I'd say I'm a "leftist" kind of guy but I don't care about most of the social/race/gender shit, I think giving people more money will solve those problems. There are valid reasons for that, giving everyone "enough" money resolves most social problems and can keep capitalism relevant.

Redbar tightropes on such a thin line of political orientation that he can be anything to anyone, that's part of the genius of his outlook. He isn't beholden to the usual tropes of other online personalities. It's a strength. He isn't bought. Whatever take he has, it's funny because it's well thought out and rings of truth.

Politically, who here identifies as what?

NOFX + Burnt Chrysler

I've loved NOFX since I was 15 (I'm 45). Imagine my surprise when I see this shit and hear Bert professing his love of punk lol.

Anyway Fat Mike's notoriously a Sex Guy. But he's like a known freaky deeky sex guy, not a "secret pervert" sex guy.

Why we feel so disconnected from each other.

Imagine your in a room with a lot of people, they’re all doing their own thing, some are talking to each other, etc. You approach someone, and talk to them. Nothing offensive, just starting a conversation about something neutral. They glance at you and remain silent, go back to whatever they were doing. You try other people same reaction.

That group would seem rude and kind of insane. It would feel like a nightmare or something, make you question your own sanity and fill you with self doubt.

Yet that’s what communication online makes extremely normal and is basically the standard. Without any physical proximity to other people we can just freely ignore them and I think that way of life has crept into our physical world a lot, will continue to moreso.

I think another factor in why we’re so disconnected IRL is because online we see so much that we don’t like about other people that IRL we’re kind of disgusted imagining what people are like when they’re online, what all their weird creepy online activities could be.

As a society, we need to get back to this.

This is how millennials had fun, do this. Be cringe.

So many lonely people. We must master solitude before we can appreciate companionship.

Being alone and being happy with that is a necessary phase of our personal evolution. Being in a relationship shouldn't be a result of FOMO but rather something that will actually compliment your happy solo existence.

I think this is why "dating" is so difficult, it's just a forced job interview that's now pre-screened online. The old adage about "it will happen when you least expect it" is true because that's when we're the most attractive and open to others. When we least need it.

Trends I Hate

Here’s some shit I hate lately, feel free to comment your own.

People saying “100 percent” when they agree. Seems like everyone is doing this for the last couple months. Stop it. Almost nothing in life is 100%, but whatever random bullshit cliche opinion someone shared is?

YouTube ads in-video. I pay for YT premium(“no ads”). So why the fuck am I hearing multiple ads on almost every video, these people are shameless. And stop telling me to like and subscribe, these are mini ads for yourself.

Mullet perms and/or mustaches. You’re trying too hard.

Saying “(Thing I don’t like) is being shoved down our throat”. With the majority of porn being made today featuring things being consensually shoved in throats, it’s time to stop saying this. Instead of garnering sympathy for your plight, you’re making everyone horny.

Young men, who convinced you to look like this?

The damp curly hair is the biggest problem, but also the round frames, the weak mustaches, the denim. What's going on? This might be why we go extinct.

Has Ben said that he’s emulating Redbar?

He’s obviously doing that but has he openly said that’s his goal or what?

He seems to be missing the point of what makes Redbar great.

Redbar is a professional broadcaster with a powerful voice and a gift for talking and improvisation. His show works purely on the strength of his presence and personality. He’s utterly uncensored and created his own platform for keeping it that way.

Ben seems to think it’s just a webcam, desk, greasy hair, sunglasses, mustache, bad lighting, bad framing, being a cunt to random other people.

If Ben’s goal is to be like a parody joke Temu Redbar than ok that’s kind of funny.

“Humanity”

This journalist very clearly lays out the evidence that the real end game for the ruling class is getting rid of the vast majority of us, leaving them as immortal(ish) gods of robots.

The hand gesture of shooting at the viewer in rap videos

FFS maybe it looked cool the first few times someone did it but it’s such a fucking tired cliche now. We know you have never and will never shoot anyone you fucking poser.

Marc Andreesen, fool.

This fucking guy is one of those nerds that makes a little smirk and sniff after all of his sentences as if what he’s said is so impressive that he just has to catch his breath and marvel at it.

He talks way too fucking fast in an attempt to sound smart and when other people are talking to him he fills every single pause with “yep”, “ya”, “mhmm” and other affirmative noises because he has to let you know how fucking locked in and totally understanding he is.

Fool!

I enjoyed some of the fools for a long time before finding Redbar. I still listen to Rogan and YMH, MSSP cause they are entertaining and have good guests. They are successful for a reason.

Redbar offers a beautiful counterbalance to them. He’s funny in a unique way that they could never be. His observations haven’t made me “hate” the podcast stars, but rather given me new ways to enjoy them because now I can pick out the most cringe moments that I know Mike would love and imagine what he’d say.

So I’m listening to these things now with a little imaginary Mike yelling, making an explosion sound, zooming in extremely far and pointing at them with a very, very thin metal pointer.

And the fun never stops.
