I accepted waking up completely drenched in sweat as just a normal part of getting older

man I spent years thinking my body was just broken or my metabolism was ruined because I would wake up exhausted and sticky every single morning like clockwork until I started tracking my deep rest. then a buddy told me to just lower the thermostat to 65 degrees to find my ideal zone and maybe try throwing away my thick heavy comforter which sounded too ridiculously simple but it completely blew my mind last night. the whole connection between your bedroom temperature and actually getting decent sleep is honestly not a joke you guys. I actually dreamt for the first time in months and woke up feeling like a functional human being instead of a walking zombie.

kinda mad no doctor ever bothered to ask me how hot my bedroom was before prescribing me strong melatonin pills tbh so if you feel like garbage all day maybe just check your AC settings first before assuming you have some incurable fatigue issue. next up, I’m definitely trying out some cooling sheets to see if I can take this to the next level.

Robot mop left this haze. Am I wrong for changing the routine instead of blaming the floor?

Guy at the store told me my floors were probably “just like that,” which felt like a suspiciously convenient answer. The surface looked clean, but every morning I’d get this dull film in the kitchen path, especially where bare feet and cooking splatter meet and form whatever tiny swamp science happens there. I stopped using more cleaner and tried the opposite: less solution, warmer water, vacuum first, slower mop pass, wash the pad halfway, and no wet pad sitting on the floor after the run. Weirdly that fixed most of the everyday residue.

So now I’m thinking a good robot mop is less about scrubbing hard and more about not reusing a gross pad for the entire downstairs. Flooring people, is that basically the right idea, or am I hiding a finish problem under better cleaning habits?

What’s the best bamboo sheet set for hot sleepers who need breathability?

I’m a hot sleeper and honestly kind of tired of waking up uncomfortable in the middle of the night. I’ve tried cotton sheets and linen sheets, and while they were okay, neither one really solved the problem for me.

Lately I’ve been looking into bamboo sheets because I keep seeing people say they’re cooler, softer, and better for night sweats. They sound promising, but I’m not sure how much of that is real and how much is just marketing.

What I’m hoping to find is a sheet set that feels soft and breathable, doesn’t trap heat, and can actually hold up after regular washing. I don’t want something that feels amazing for the first month and then starts pilling, thinning out, or losing that smooth feel.

Has anyone here switched to bamboo sheets as a hot sleeper? Did they actually help you stay cooler at night? And are there any brands or types you’d recommend that are both breathable and durable?

What’s the best soft throw blanket for a cozy sofa setup?

I’m trying to make my bedroom room feel a little cozier, and I’ve realized the throw blanket on the couch makes a bigger difference than I expected.

I’m looking for a soft throw blanket that feels nice when I’m curled up watching TV or reading in the evening, but I don’t want anything too bulky or heavy. I’ve bought a couple before that looked cute at first, but one got rough after a few washes, and another one started pilling pretty quickly, which was disappointing.

I’d love something that works year-round ,warm enough for chilly nights, but still light and breathable enough that it doesn’t feel too hot. It also needs to be easy to wash because it’ll probably get used a lot on the couch.

Does anyone have a favorite soft throw blanket that actually stays soft over time and still looks nice in the living room? I’m hoping to find something cozy, practical, and not too high-maintenance.

Do AI products need to package intelligence into productivity, not just provide access to models?

Most AI products today seem to give users access to model capability: chat, generate, summarize, search, code, analyze, automate.
But I wonder if the real product challenge is different:
How do you package AI intelligence into a reliable productivity unit?

A raw model can be very smart, but users don’t necessarily want intelligence in the abstract. They want outcomes: more sales calls booked, fewer support tickets, faster hiring, better code shipped, cleaner data, better reports, lower operational cost.
That means the AI product may need to handle the whole productivity loop: context, workflow, tools, memory, quality control, escalation, metrics, and ownership.
So maybe the biggest opportunity is not just “better models,” but better systems that convert model capability into business output.

Do you agree? What do you think is missing from current AI products before they can truly deliver productivity instead of just assistance?

" i will not promote" anyone here successfully used AI as a real productivity unit, not just an assistant?

I’m looking for examples from people who have gone beyond using AI as a chatbot or helper.
Has anyone here successfully used AI as a real productivity unit?
By that I mean: AI is not just generating drafts or answering questions, but actually owning a repeatable workflow and producing measurable outcomes with limited human supervision.
Examples could be:
- AI handling sales outreach
- AI managing customer support tickets
- AI doing research and producing reports
- AI writing and shipping code
- AI running marketing operations
- AI processing internal documents
- AI coordinating repetitive business processes
I’m curious about both successful and failed attempts.
What worked?
What broke?
Where did humans still need to step in?
Was the bottleneck model quality, workflow design, tool integration, trust, or something else?

I’m trying to understand whether AI is already becoming a true production unit, or whether we are still mostly using it as a powerful assistant.

NGD at 38: bought the guitar I’d actually leave out

Spent most of high school in a loud little band, then work/life did the usual thing and I somehow didn't play for like 10 years.
I kept telling myself I'd get back into it “properly”, which apparently meant watching too many videos and talking myself out of every guitar. Stupid, but very on-brand.
Broke down and got a carbon fiber acoustic because it looks clean, feels solid and I don’t have to baby it in my basement office. That's it. Not a deep dive into gear from me, just trying to play after meetings without it being a chore.

Kinda funny how adult-money guitar shopping is less “what’s best” and more “what makes me want to pick it up again? Anyway NGD. My 17 year old self would probably be down with this.

Is Enya actually a solid guitar brand, or more of an Amazon-style marketing thing?

Some people seem to say they’re totally fine for the price, others dismiss them pretty quickly compared to more traditional brands.

Just wondering what the general take is here, are they actually considered a decent budget ukulele?

lifted a loose ceiling tile in my new condo and i think i just found a massive hvac upgrade the seller forgot to mention?

so i’ve been in this place for like two weeks and kept wondering why the utility closet felt so cold. noticed a drop ceiling tile was sagging a bit so i poked my head up there and found a whole hidden ceiling-mounted AHU tucked away. i’m still learning how this stuff works but i found a receipt in a kitchen drawer for a multifamily contractor install from last year and it looks like a full inverter system. i’m assuming it’s a supplemental heat pump for the back bedroom because that room stays perfect while the rest of the building's hvac is struggling lol. it’s super clean and looks way more advanced than the baseboard heaters i thought i was stuck with.

i’m honestly stoked if this is what i think it is but since it’s hidden in the ceiling is there anything i should check for? like drainage or filters i’m gonna miss? i feel like i just won the condo lottery but i don't want to accidentally break it by being clueless. anyone else ever find "bonus" equipment after closing?

Replacing hotel HVAC with PTHP units: Best choice or just a cheap fix

Alright, so I’m in the middle of a hotel renovation, and we’re looking at switching to PTHP systems for all the heating and cooling. On paper, it seems like a smart move — compact, efficient, and perfect for commercial spaces. But as we’re getting into the details, I’m starting to wonder if we’re making the best choice.

Sure, these systems save space, but are they really the best for a hotel? I’ve heard mixed reviews from contractors — some love them, others are pushing for something more advanced. We’re trying to keep costs down while still delivering solid performance, but I can’t help but wonder if we’re just going for a "quick fix" instead of the long-term solution. Anyone else used these systems for hotel renovations? What’s the real deal with performance, especially as things start to age?

Best thin comforter for hot sleepers in summer? I need something lightweight but effective!

so I’ve been searching high and low for a thin comforter that’s perfect for the summer heat. I’m a hot sleeper and just can’t stand heavy bedding during the warmer months. But here’s the thing: I still need something to keep me covered, especially for those cooler nights when the AC is on full blast. I don’t want to be freezing, but I also can’t stand feeling like I’m being suffocated by too much weight.

I’ve tried a few “lightweight” comforters in the past, but most of them either don’t breathe enough or still feel way too warm for summer. I want something that’s comfortable, but also breathable. After a few trial-and-error comforters that just didn’t make the cut, I’m wondering if anyone here has a recommendation for a comforter that actually works for hot sleepers in the summer months.

I don’t need it to be anything fancy...just something that gets the job done without making me sweat through the night. I’m looking for something breathable but cozy, something that doesn’t feel like it’s trapping the heat, but also doesn’t leave me shivering in the morning. is that even possible?

This Was the Moment I Realized How Important My Dash Cam Really Is

Alright, so I’ve always been one of those people who thought dash cams were a bit unnecessary. Like, yeah, it’s nice to have one in case of an emergency, but I didn’t really see the point. I’m a careful driver, I’ve never been in an accident, and everything’s always fine... until last week.

I was driving through a busy intersection when some guy in a red sedan decided to run a red light and nearly T-boned me. Luckily, I slammed on the brakes just in time. But the crazy part? The other driver didn’t stop and tried to pull the "I didn’t see you" excuse. Fortunately, my dash cam caught everything—clear footage of his car, the license plate, and the exact time.

Now, I’m thinking about upgrading my setup to a dual-camera system (front + rear) to get more complete coverage. I’m also considering using it for insurance claims, so I wanted to know if anyone here has experience with a dash cam that performs well in heavy rain or fog. It’s that time of the year when bad weather makes everything worse.

▲ 6 r/Asthma

I feel like I need to talk about this because I’ve been struggling with it for a while, and I’m genuinely confused about whether I made a huge mistake. A few weeks ago, I decided to get a robot vacuum, thinking it would help with keeping the house clean and dust-free. With my asthma, I’m constantly battling dust and pet dander, and I figured this would be an easy way to get a cleaner home without the hassle.

At first, I was kind of impressed. The thing zipped around, and I thought, "Hey, this is pretty cool!" But then, after a few days, I started noticing something odd. Every time the robot vacuum runs, my asthma symptoms seem to get worse. I’m talking about coughing fits, sneezing, and even wheezing at times. I never used to have these issues unless I was deep cleaning, and now it feels like the air is just... worse.

So here’s what I think might be happening: the vacuum picks up dust and pet hair, sure, but it’s also kicking it back into the air. I’ve read that some vacuums might not trap the allergens well enough, and it just sends them flying. I have to keep opening the windows to air out the place after each run, which kind of defeats the purpose, right?

Has anyone here experienced something similar? Is there something I’m doing wrong, like maybe I need to adjust the vacuum’s settings or change its filters more often? Or is it just that robot vacuums, in general, aren’t the best for asthma sufferers? I really wanted to believe in the convenience, but right now, I feel like I’m causing more harm than good. I’m desperate for advice from anyone who’s had success using these devices with asthma!

I'm sure some of you can relate… I’ve got a puppy, and while I absolutely love him, there’s one thing that’s driving me nuts: paw prints. All over the floors. All the time. No matter how much I try to keep it clean, every time he comes back inside after a walk or a play session, I’m left with muddy paw prints all over my tile and hardwood floors. It’s like a constant battle just to stay on top of it. I’ve tried manual mopping and cleaning, but it’s exhausting and honestly, I can’t keep up with it anymore.

So, I’ve started looking into robot vacuums with mopping functions, but I’m not sure if they’re actually worth it. Do these vacuums really work for removing muddy paw prints? Or do they leave streaks everywhere, making the floor look worse than when I started?

Has anyone here used one of these vacuums that also mop? I’m really curious if they can make a noticeable difference in how clean the floors are, especially when it comes to dealing with wet paw prints. My puppy’s a little over 4 months now, so it’s only going to get worse before it gets better, haha. Is it better to invest in one of these robot vacuums that do both, or am I just throwing money at a problem that’s never going to go away? Any advice would be appreciated!

On April 14, 2026, Nitish Kumar resigned as Bihar's Chief Minister after chairing his final cabinet meeting and submitting his resignation to Governor Syed Ata Hasnain. Bihar's longest-serving CM who took oath a record 10 times has now moved to the Rajya Sabha, fulfilling his stated goal of serving in all four legislative bodies (Bihar Assembly, Bihar Council, Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha).

Samrat Choudhary (BJP, OBC-Kushwaha leader) has been elected as the NDA legislative party leader and is set to become Bihar's first-ever BJP Chief Minister.

what do you think of the Nitish Era and the new cm ?
