What's the worst place you've ever painted in?
This was the spot today. Supposedly there was no fire.

Always loved music since I was little so having a system like this is super cool! Speakers are the KEF Q1 Metas in walnut and and amp (Cambridge CXA81 Mki) is second hand from a friend. Working on trying to dedicate the back wall to be music/audio releated. Really happy with my purchase, the speakers sound amazing.
So far I've been really liking the painting gig I got and my boss says I'm doing a great job! Though I have some things I really want to refine right now.
One of those things is getting paint too far up the brush. Early in the day, paint is closer to where I like it (and should be) at the very edge of the brush. However later I notice it starts creeping up further and further up the bristles.
Something else I'm looking to hone in on is improving my brushskills in less than ideal places like the tight clearances invetween a vanity or baseboards. He said I can already cut a clean line which is reassuring to hear, but there's always something to improve on.
Sometime in the near future I'm hoping to get a good grip on rolling. I sorta have it down with the small ones, but the 18 in ones feel a little cumbersome.
For the past couple weeks or so I have been having constant issues with songs just simply buffering in the middle of play. It's really frustrating me. This happens both over wifi and data. I do not have any issues like this with other platforms.
The other day I asked about the Sony XAV-AX4000, after some consideration I want to go with the 6000 instead.
Looking into the future, I wanted to start looking into door speakers that sound and work the best. I would love to know what the specs of all the speakers, tweeters and sub to make the most informed upgrade that best matches my setup. I browsed thr forums and information is hit or miss. I only intend to upgrade my front door speakers, leaving the center dash and rear doors alone. I am unsure if I want to upgrade to a higher quality 8in sub or not.
I was thinking about getting coaxial speakers from Infinity, specifically the Infinity Reference REF607FSL, but a friend said my tweeters are in a good spot already and that I could just simply upgrade those. The OEM location is right next to the door handle. I'm a newbie to AV and didn't know if I could mix different brand audio equipment. Plus most component speakers combine tweeters and the woofers together meaning I'm spending money on a tweeter I won't be using. Per Crutchfield one Tweeter fits the OEM spot, but requires some modifications. Not a huge problem, they're the Hertz C 26 OE. From what I read Hertz is highly regarded. If I do go the component route and use the bundled tweeters I was thinking about custom fabricating a custom place to put them in the triangular area near my A pillar and give them a slight angle towards me in the cabin.
Lastly, I wondered if an amp upgrade would be required to do any of what I had planned. My factory amp is 450w .
I would appreciate all the help I can get! Thank You!
I am in the process of planning out upgrading the system in my 2015 Veloster Turbo. I've settled on the Sony XAV-AX6000 for my head unit. The only thing I am unsure of is how to handle my speaker upgrades. I wanted to know about the specs of the woofers in the lower door but more so with tweeters in the upper door to make the most informed decision possible. I was not sure if it was worth keeping the tweeters in their stock location (choose component speakers) or go coaxial and combine the woofer and tweeter in the lower door.
I was looking into this last night and I really like it. It looks super slick and still retains physical controls for volume and track seeking. I was wondering if anyone had it and would like to share their experience with it. Especially if you drive a FS Veloster. I think the only questions I have are that I have a factory backup cam. How seamless is your factory backup camera with the above head unit? Two, I have SXM, what would be the process of reactivating it and how difficult is that?
This isn't something I would be doing tomorrow, so I wanna get a good idea of what I would be in for.
On Today's Episode of Customer States, I have black smoke coming out my exhaust intermittently on shifts. I noticed it when I was looking in my rear view mirror (this was a downshift). According to my friend behind me it happened that time and another down the road. What could be the cause of this? It's been on my mind all day long. I drive a 15' VT in an Auto. I was in sport using the paddles.
Relevant Mods are a HKS BOV, AFE Takeda SRI and a Catback from ARK. I am stock tuned
Lately, I've been hearing ramblings about a looming oil shortage. Not entirely sure how truthful that is, but I was wondering what the chances are that it would affect us if at all? I do alot of driving and not being able to change my oil in a timely manner concerns me.
Gabes tends to be my go to especially their clearance rack whenever I need to replace my work gear. Though because of limited stock, I sometimes have issues finding bottoms that fit me since I'm very thin. I would perfer in person shopping but I am open to online stores as well so long as they are reputable.
I took an offer to go paint for a day tomorrow, I'm hoping it can be my ticket out of dishwashing for a while until I finish school. What are some pro tips to make it through the day? I'm coming in with an open mind and ready to learn as well as apply my skills I've learned in the dishpit. I'm confident this could be for me.
Lately I have been hearing some rumblings that companies like GM and Toyota are divising plans to lessen the blow of a potentially looming shortage of motor oil. I'm not sure how legitimate it is, but I saw a leaked document from Toyota that said to use heavier weight oils temporarily.... (by mixing a small amount of the heavier weight oils in) I know that some people in my family would be affected by this change. In my car, I use 5w30, but with the way things have been trending, I was wondering if buying oil in bulk would be worth it or not. Panic buying isn't exactly something I want to foster because that'll hurt thr market even more. But if it comes down to it I'd like to have a little buffer at least
What the title said.... when I go to bed at night I have dreams of me at work in the kitchen doing dishes almost nightly. This is one of the biggest aspects of my job that have taken a toll on me. Even when I'm home I can't escape the claws of my job. Any pro tips to stop this?
The position is a revolving door, some worse than others but never "good" obviously. Recently, after a few weeks our last GM called a quits and he was replaced with this middle age woman. I met her and from day one I could immediately tell she was going to make my life hell. Not even a week into her having the position she is making sweeping changes for the restaurant and none are actually improving the work environment. Today in my work message app I get greeted with a beautiful list of her demands. One of which is on call offs. I expected it to be coming because people abused it hard. She's peddling the "you need to find coverage for any shift you need to work" which is ridiculous and unreasonable for me, the hourly employee. Finding coverage always has been and will be the managers job. I pointed out the holes in her logic and she was not happy about it. I told her I will just message my manager which is the Kitchen Manager and she told me while thats fine, though I still need to call the restaurant anyway. The KM's whole job is to schedule everyone that works back of house. The redundancy is not only pointless but logistically a nightmare. I tend to work 12 hour shifts open to close, so me calling a restaurant at 10am telling them I'm on the floor dying means they only have 2 hours minimum to find someone to take my place as opposed to messaging the exact person responsible for my department.
Everyday I see people get taken advantage of and it pisses me off. Last week, the GM had her kid working under the table essentially doing a bunch of cleaning and stuff. I am almost certain she was a minor because she looked so young. I asked her if she was being paid for her work (cleaning various things with a powerwasher) and she said yeah, but she added that sometimes her mom doesn't pay her. That immediately stood out to me and I reminded her that was illegal. So far nothing has come out of that discussion, but it remains to be seen. In summary I am fed up with working not only my current job but working in general. How do I get out of this hell? I applied to like 100 jobs last summer, some even while I was on the clock and they all went nowhere.
This is something that really interests me. I saw a set of wheels off a Mazda 3 that could fit but the backspacing is shorter by about .41. They are an 18x7 +45, OEM for the VT1 as we know is 18x7.5 +49. I use my OEM wheels for winter and they are beat to hell. Looking for something unique to swap them with because why not.
