At some point does it become your fault?
Got a friend who's a year younger than me (21). Don't talk to her much, but somehow always keeping up with her posts online.
Lately I've noticed a bit of a trend with the stuff she posts; hoping to land an interview, supposedly aces it, gets the job, then gets fired a week/month in.
First few times it happened I was thinking "sure, we live in a city where the job market is relentless and has been for some time" until I think I've counted maybe 5 jobs in the last 7-8 months? Is that not absurd? Then she'll go on an Instagram rampage about how the job is dumb for letting her go.. amongst other kind words.
I question if maybe I'm out of touch.. I've been working the same dead end office job since I was 17, but I did originally land it through connections.
But with experience in other jobs prior to, I do understand how hard it is to get a job nowadays. I guess I'm just curious if losing the job as fast as you land it is more normal than just being flat out rejected.
Maybe others have had the same experiences? Just a weird rant.
