Dravidan languages (sanskritization and anglification)

Dravidan languages have an immense history of over sanskritization which has infact ruined it's words and the language's pure words (i mean the native words which it uses )

Yeah tamizh does keep many native words in retrospect to other dravids

But when I see any news or tv shows in Malayalam kannada I find it hard to understand cause it uses so much sanskrit in it like native words act like filler words( I am not shaming them)

But it must be kept in mind and be understanding to use our native words

Same is for anglification which is a part in every indian languages but it is destroying the native words for the language

Like example tamizh had word for rain as peyyal(the falling of rain) mazhai( the rain ) mari(the rain which may fall) thural(the rain drizzling ) kaar(the season of rain)there only two~three which is being used right now so I fear for the future of our languages

**Be conscious and try to learn y'alls native tongue too and use its word cause we need to take it to our succesors right like our ansectors**

Thank you

Giraavaru (phonology)

I am curious about it's phonological structure as it's a part of middle tamizh language right

So whether it's phonology resembles tamizh or malayalam or distinct from it

And they called themselves Tamila or Tamizha or tamiLa (the ഴ ழ or ള ள ಳor ല ல ಲ)

Plural markers in south dravidan languages

It's amusing to see that Dravidian languages have different roots for different classes of plural

Like rational and non rational

Example malyalam we say

Maram- marangaL(tree-trees)

Manushyan-manushyar(human-humans)

Tamizh we say

Maram -marangaL(tree-trees)

Manudan-manudargaL(human humans)

Kannada it's

Mara maragaLu

Manushya manushyar

But it's similar in malayalm where as in tamizh we add rgaL but for irrational only gaL

But others add only -r or mar for irrational gaLfascinating

Anglification of Indian languages?

I am asking this cause i am finding that many teens or tweens are conversing so much in tanglish(tamingalam) Idk about other languages but I am curious cause in many cities like chennai ig many kids don't even know the tamizh words and write with spelling mistake

I am asking this is other indian languages facing the same shit or just tamizh

Ig hindi also use hinglish but is it this much that the basic words are replaced by english ?

Curious in other language like malayalam, kannada

I am also curious of tamizhs in rural area too are y'all conversing with so much english or just cities

Kanyakumari--> Trivandrum

Covai dialect is also to closer to kl ig
