Gamers have once more been targeted as a Zamboanga Mayor wants to ban violent video games following the shooting incident in Tacloban

Gamers have been targeted once more by Politicians who have been spouting early 2000's soccer mom logic, as a Zamboanga Politician does the easiest jab at the country's gamers, by wanting to ban violent video games this comes despite there being no co-relation to the incident and violent video games, as investigations show that it was some online terror group see here
many gamers and normies found this very ironic given this is coming from a mayor of the country's known pvp and pk zone, Mindanao.

Many have also expressed online that instead of taking accountability or fixing their region, the politicians opted to take another jab at gamers, despite mounting evidence that there is no co-relation, the biggest reason being stated is that the most popular games world wide are violent video games, whether it be valorant, csgo 2 and the most famous game franchise in the genre, Grand theft auto, with 6 being the most anticipated game by many globally.

Others have found this funny given that this video has gone viral just a few months ago showcasing the state of the region

Others have also pointed out that their point makes no sense given the state of Mindanao always being a pvp, pk zone long before violent video games were even a thing

PBBM catches the ire of gamers worldwide for wanting to ban "Violent Video Games"

The Stop Killing Games Initiative an international initiative focused on preserving games for the sake of gamers internationally

The Initiative is composed of gamers that want to preserve games.
It has recently picked up on the statements our president has made and gamers internationally and locally all agree that statements by PBBM are likely based on poorly researched data and debunked info where violent video games have unilaterally been used as a scapegoat instead of looking at the parents who have neglected their children enough for them to commit crime, said data comes from reputable sources

PBBM's statements come in the wake of the Tacloban shooting done by 2 criminals
who have been bullied for being a nerd and for having a terrible haircut, which resulted in the passing of 3 students and injuries inflicted upon multiple students.

Local gamers have pointed out the hypocrisy of these statements when our local telenovelas have constantly shown more violent themes in said telenovelas that have plagued our local television, along with the rise of online casinos, which are more harmful for the general public than "violent video games". This is not to be mistaken with anime styled gacha games which have substance, stories, production and music to it, such as Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Love and Deepspace, Fate Grand Order to list a few

Others have pointed out that the president is specifically talking about Violent Online Video Games and related platforms such as Roblox that, while not violent in nature has had victims due to their poor moderation known globally along with a plethora of other things the platform is infamously known for.

Why is instagram asking for people's phone numbers now?

I've recently got a phone verification thing for my instagram account at first i thought it was just because of a comment i made on a reel, turns out it wasn't and they had a mistake,

but it turns out my other account had the same thing too, mind you these are on completely separate browsers, the other was for some gaming thing i do and i have never logged in that one on a phone

why does it need my phone number?

bellow is the one for my personal account when they asked for my phone number

why are they suspending accounts when the accounts haven't done anything?

recently had to give out my number to remove a suspension on the account

how long do i need to wait before i can safely remove the phone number on my account for a suspension that wasn't warranted to begin with? they never specified why, just asked for my number

for context, I really do not like giving out my number to platforms
