I HATE THIS

Sorry I hope I can vent.

My best friend on the planet. Just told me he finalized his will today.

He had to have his brother and partner speak for him and he used his Samsung phone to write.

He can barely walk and he has lost most talking.

I don't wish ALS on anyone.

I'm sorry it's been an emotional day. This is happening so fast.

7 months ago we were skiing. Now he can't walk or talk.

We had hoped we could have one last run together.

The. It was I don't care I'll hang out in the lodge just to be there.

To I'm not going to be able to travel.

He is a retired airline pilot.

When we say it's amazing how time flies.

ALS brings that into reality.

Again I'm sorry. Just have to vent.

Con Crud got me just as I got back to work.

I travel for work.

Dang it if I didn't get to my hotel and lay down tired as hell after a long awesome weekend of Dragon Con and a long day of work related travel for a what I had hoped was going to be a good night's rest and low and behold. The Con Crud set in.

I woke up.... Well y'all know

Hotel Key Card Panorama.

I went on my annual side quest to aquire all 5 Host Hotel Dragon Con themed key cards. I succeeded again this year and completed the Mission and gained more valuable Dragon Con XP.

I posted earlier but had the key cards in the wrong order to form the panorama as one kind poster informed me of. I thought I'd share the correct panorama.

Already planning on next year.

My Marriot Carpet Cosplay is going to step up a notch. And I'm getting bigger and better Bubble Blasters to spread more happiness and joy in the form of Bubbles wherever I can.

No available at the Hilton Downtown Atlanta the entire weekend.

In case you were wondering why.

Complete take over of the Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Westin, and Courtland Grand hotels from Thursday until Monday.

Dragon Con is a pop culture Convention that happens every Labor Day weekend in Atlanta. Basically one gigantic party that lasts 5 full days 24 hours a day.

Funny how life works and the curve balls it throws you.

Just 6 months ago we were skiing at Whistler.

Day 3 of a 10 day trip. My best friend and I were having the time of our lives. I skied some great runs that first day.

I spent the second day with my daughter practicing fundimentals and basic skills. Having a blast watching her progression, improvement, and exciment.

The next day, Day 3 another great day of skiing.

I fall on the last run of the day. A green run just below the Emerald chair lift.

Not going very fast or doing anything crazy just cruising and enjoying life on the mountain. I caught an edge, bindings didn't release. I have them set pretty high.

I've been skiing nearly my entire life. 50 years and instructing for over 30. I am an expert skiier.

I catastrophically broke my leg. Open tibia fibia fracture that required over 10 days in a Canadian hospital and fix and flap surgery. It wasn't pretty and Yea my right leg isn't all that pretty to look at.

Hey crap happens right, ski long enough and well it can happen to anyone.

We get home. My best friend with whom I was skiing with we ski 50-60 days a year it is a thing we absolutely love and live for. He was reporting some strange symptoms.

Y'all know them.

Slurred speech

Muscle twitching

Difficulty swallowing

Walking got a little more difficult.

Here I am layed up on my couch. We are discussing these symptoms. Every time we research them it comes up ALS.

We keep up hope. He goes to doctor after doctor. 2 months or more. Finally we get the confirmation the Internet has been telling us.

His doctors are worthless with getting referrals sent to specialists. He is doing his best to live and enjoy his life while he can with his family.

I am finally back at work getting better every day while he steadily declines.

We just want 1 more ski season and to make that last run not our last.

It's tough but we are keeping a positive attitude as best we can. We are accepting the reality we are in now.

I wouldn't wish this on anyone. My heart goes out to everyone dealing with ALS.

Thank you for this community.

It just helps to know that we aren't alone.

His progression is pretty fast. I pray every day for his comfort and that of his family.

If this expierience has taught me anything it is that we only have 1 life to live. You have to live it to the fullest.

Thank you all just wanted to get it off my chest.

I mean Real Lager (Yuingling) and the bartenders aren't upchargeing for it. Coney Dogs... Talk about a great dinner.

I'll hit 3 out of the 5 on this stop through DTW.

Yea I've done the complete SkyClub Crawl at DTW before.

PRO tip. Get a German or UK charger. Throw it in your backpack.

If you are flying and need to charge you need to get a German / European or a UK charger.

They stay in the outlet at your seat. Get one with multiple USB outlets help your seatmates. Be the hero.

That USB port is worn out... So I'd the power outlet for US chargers.

When the Captain said it's going to be rough. It might truly a rough flight.

First flight I've been on in a very long time that was turbulent the entire time.

ATL was an IROP mess tonight.

Feels like the entire southeast is socked in with storms even at altitude. A lot of unstable air up here

Dang it I was looking forward to my Bourbon in a Glass.

Bottom line... The crew is there for your Safety... Not to serve you a drink. Even if you are in First Class...

24+ print hours in and I'm.loving it.

First prints in my new printer have all been flawless and I've been learning a lot.

This thing just runs.

I am using inland / microcenter basic PLA on cardboard spools forr my prints at the moment. Haven't been able to find a spool adapter that actually fits.

I did a couple of 8 hour prints (dragons) in rainbow Inland / microcenter glitter PLA with zero issues they all came out perfect. Printed an Egg with Dragon again perfect results. All just basic slicer settings.

I am finishing up an 8 hour print of several articulated foxes for kids to paint themselves with acrylic markers.

It stopped halfway through I woke up this morning and thought I lost the print.

I shut down the printer and ACE Pro 2 and restarted it and was asked if I wanted to resume the print. The machine just started back up and resumed the print. Awesome.

I have not seen any bed warping issues and everything just sticks to the sheet.

Anyhow. I'm happy so far. Just got to keep learning and seeing what I can do with this thing. Maybe even earn a little extra scratch with it somehow.

After 2 days of waiting.

I ordered my Anycubic Kobra S1 Ace 2 Pro combo via anycubic website. Was told 7-10 days shipping. With the extended warranty.

I was on vacation thinking no problem it will come a few days after I get home.

Next thing I know my Ring Dorrbell goes off and I see the FedEx guy drop this off on my porch 2 days after ordering.

Waiting for the 2nd Ace 2 Pro unit my filliment order, hardened steel nozzle and hot end with an extra build plate.

Got her up and running with the little sample 10 meters of filliment they sent with it.

I printed the dinosaur from the console on the printer and the cardboard spool reel because why not. Had just enough filiment for both.

Now I need more... Filliment won't be here till next week. I guess I'll have to take a trip to Microcenter.

Came out pretty dang good.

Let the learning begin.

Most recent Road Trip fuel economy results

What kind of fuel economy results are y'all getting on road trips?

This was a weekend road trip to Walt Disney World Highway driving at 75 MPH with Blue Cruise engaged mostly center lane driving with light traffic.

Last portion was about 50 miles or so of the highway speeds between 55 and 65 mph with Active Cruise engaged most of the way.

Eco Drive mode. Everything is stock with the exception of my Backflip tonneau cover.
