Good morning!

Borrower is currently 5 days late on repayment. Typically I would have offered an extension but user has decided to cease communication ever since being funded.

I reached out multiple times via DM / text / phone call, and was met with no response and am currently being sent straight to voicemail now

Agreement: $100 for $160 repayment 8/05

I tried to offer less interest but they insisted on $160. Looking back, that should have been a sign they probably weren't going to repay.

Its a shame to post this, as the borrower had a few prior repayments and had reputable lender approval for this loan. But its only fair to mark this as unpaid due to the immense lack of communication, which is what leads me to believe they have no intention of repayment.

I'm not sure how many of you use it or noticed it, but Ive been using it a lot lately and its extremely helpful when vetting a potential borrower.

What it can do

- Search a Reddit username and retrieve their historical posts and comments

- Show posts/comments that are deleted from Reddit, provided Arctic Shift archived them before they disappeared (99% of the time all the history is there)

- Find hidden content from private/hidden profiles

- Search by subreddit, author, date, IDs, key word, etc.

- Look up an individual Reddit post/comment by its Reddit ID or URL

- Download archived data

It can be useful to help find old loans people defaulted on and deleted their account for your records too.

Type in the user name without the u/ and click descending and then click search to get the most current archived posts at the top of the list to make it easier to scroll from newest to oldest.

I understand things get difficult which is why so many come to this sub, and that life gets busy and in the way.

With that in mind, a lot of borrowers come to lenders with a sense of urgency towards their funding which is understandable. There never seems to be an issue with communication when it comes to receiving funds, but it is unfortunately common (for me) to see a very slow and lazy return on communication when it comes time for repayment.

Failing to communicate with your lender is not an exchange in good faith if you decide to say nothing when asked for updates if you are late on repayment. Everyone is on their phone 24/7, so there is simply no excuse that can exist to justify silence.

Keeping a lender updated and staying in communication is important, and not doing so will inevitably get you banned or deemed too big of a risk to lend to, and then whats the plan next time you need help? Please think!

This a very rose-colored glasses post, with the idea that everyone should do the right thing while knowing that is just not the world we live in. But im hoping that some borrowers read this and keep in mind that if they cant make a payment on time, just say something. Avoiding it only makes it seems like youre running off with the money, and replying days or weeks later with excuses will not unring that bell and youll find it very hard to get another loan.

To MY borrowers: If you are running late and do not communicate with me at all or do not open a dialogue to discuss steps towards fulfilling repayment, i will be making posts marking individual borrowers who procrastinate on communication even if the loan was eventually paid.

(Officially stated unpaid loans will of course have their own separate posting)

Other lenders dont deserve the run-around either, so the right thing to do would be to make them aware of unresponsive borrowers. So please keep this in mind if we have an active loan right now.

I believe a little context is needed for this prearrangement as ive been mostly active as a lender on here lately:

Due to some mistakes on my end, mixed with a few too many loans defaulting/needing extentions right now, it landed me in a very tight situation with rent and bills for the moment.

Ill be working on better lending practices to circumvent a situation like this from happening in the future and a huge thanks for Soyel for coming through to help me out 🫡

update: he has reached out via text with intention to repay, lets see what happens!

Hello friends, another wonderful day! Its very unfortunate to post this, as ive had one loan with this user previously and everything went great.

This time around, same as last time. Great communication, updating me, had a few top-up requests and an extention all with valid reasons and proof provided. Today was repayment, and I had even gotten a message from the user letting me know they were ready to repay.

About an hour later, I come on to reddit to respond and his account is deleted.

I'm not quite sure what happened, but I can only work with what is obvious information which seems to be: he does not intend to repay.

This is a huge shame, and probably the most leniency ive ever given a borrower in regards to top ups and extending repayment, just to be met with a fistful of disrespect in the end by being dodged.

Im in the process of recovering funds from paypal g&s. I would say do not loan to this person, but the account no longer exists.

Borrower has been silent with no communication as repayment date approached (7/10) and no reply after repayment date has passed.

They have a decent repayment history, so i would like to keep communication open and consider they may be held up in some sort of way with intentions to repay, however the lack of communication is a concern so im marking this as unpaid for now.

- Borrowers with 3 or more on-time successful loan repayments > $100-$250 max loan

Hello guys! Been a long week and its only tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Been a lender on here for about 3 weeks or so, hasnt been a bad experience for the most part!

Im currently waiting for 5 of my loans to be repaid this week, as well as waiting for my paycheck to hit later tonight (usually around ungodly hours like 4am sometimes. Gotta love it!)

Anyway, i had some stuff planned today but fell a little short due to one of my borrowers being late with repayment today (understandable circumstances, they are still in good standing and will pay tomorrow 👍)

I have another $50 pre-arranged loan with u/SoyelSanto and he will confirm approval of stacking this loan in the comments.
