What Does Everyone Think About the Twins in the Trailer? Would You Prefer Denis Changing the Timeline or Leto’s Invisibility?

I know that everything is just speculation until the movie comes out, but this is truly one of the plot points that I’m kind of nervous for. I’ve really loved Denis’ adaptation thus far, and I actually saw his movies first before I got into the books, so I will always be grateful to him for that. I have my reservations and dislikes (such as with Chani, but that’s a discussion for another day), but overall I’ve really enjoyed them.

However, one thing that kills me is the uncertainty of how he will show the twins. Since the trailer pretty much confirmed we will have scenes of them, the two paths seem to be that 1) Leto and Ghanima are born far earlier or, 2) their scenes are simply visions. The latter, though, would mean that Leto is no longer invisible to Paul’s visions—a plot change which would undo everything Leto II does in the future with the breeding program in Siona and her descendants.

Since it’s pretty much guaranteed that some things will be changed, which route would you prefer? What are your theories, if any?

For Those Who Prefer the Old Combat: How Would You Like to See It Revamped?

With the release of Black Flag Resynced, I have seen a lot of people say that they prefer the old combat, and also an equal amount of people saying that, even though this new combat is not the greatest, the older system is far too outdated and that it would need to be heavily revamped to actually be fun.

So, as someone who myself prefers the old combat but agrees with this take, I ask—how would you revamp the combat if you had the chance?

One way I imagine the old combat style being used for future games in a fun way is the free-flow of the Arkham series and LOTR Shadow of Mordor/War. I absolutely do not see Ubisoft ever doing this or being able to pull it off, but think if this was ever possible it would be a really fun way to do it—especially if animators were given adequate time for all of the animations and different techniques.

FromSoft Does Such a Good Job at Getting You Good and Retaining Those Skills They Taught You

I just replayed Genichiro and Isshin’s fights for the first time since my first ever playthrough of Sekiro over half a year ago—and can I just say…wow. Upon reflection, I can’t help but admire how good the FromSoft team are as developers when it comes to not just organically teaching you how to get good, but making sure you retain those skills as well.

When I first played through this game, I was raging at one of the ninja mini bosses in the first or second level. I had played through Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne at this point, so I was no stranger to some challenging bosses (for BB it was really just Orphan). Sekiro, however, was a different obstacle altogether.

Yet, by the time I got to Genichiro, everything clicked, and then Isshin only took me about 40 minutes to beat. Then, today, I got the itch to play some boss fights and ended up beating Isshin on the second replay attempt, which I hadn’t expected since I hadn’t touched the game in 6+ months and I’ve only done one full playthrough. I don’t think I’m even close to being amazing at this game, but I can’t help but glaze FromSoft for how well designed their games are when it comes to teaching the player. It’s crazy how every single lesson I learned on my playthrough is still somehow fresh in my mind even when much time has passed.

Give Me Some Motivation to Play the DLCs

So, let me start off by saying I DO NOT hate Dark Souls 2. Was it frustrating? Absolutely. Do I think it has a lot of cheap deaths and difficulty with the absurd enemy placement? Yes. Nonetheless, it was still a really fun experience.

However, I find myself kinda hesitant to play the DLCs and just want to move onto DS1 already (I’m playing in reverse order. I know that’s weird but Elden Ring was my first Soulsborne game and now all I have left is DS1 and DeS [original]). DS2 was fun but some areas like Iron Keep probably took me the longest out of any of the Soulsborne games I’ve played, so by the end I found myself pretty worn out. But I always do the base game and DLCs before moving onto the next.

How are the DLCs overall? And what are your favorite parts about them? Are there any improvements from the base game?

Note: please don’t take this post too seriously. I love all the souls games and I will eventually get to them. Feel free to put humorous responses too :)

Edit: I will be starting them shortly! Thank you for all the recommendations. I’m convinced now.

I can’t believe I never discovered Ninja Gaiden sooner.

I’m an 04 baby, so needless to say I wasn’t really old enough to experience the Ninja Gaiden games when I was growing up, but…wow. I cannot believe it took me until 20/21 years old to actually try them out.

Some of the hardcore fans might get upset at me (😅) but I started with Ninja Gaiden 4 on release since it looked insanely cool and I wanted to get into the series. Since then, I’ve played through Sigma and Sigma 2 on the PS3 that I bought almost a year ago. Quite frankly, it’s been an amazing experience. All I have left is 3RE, so I’m really excited for that.

I will say though, starting on 4 makes the older games pure rage bait due to how jank the controls and camera could be back then lol

I’m really late to the party, but I’m glad I showed up regardless.

Why did the AC6 gen never get another game?

Do we know why Armored Core 6 never got another game shortly afterward to go alongside it like IV did with For Answer and V with Verdict Day?

AC6 was my introduction to the series and I’ve been dying for more of it, so I was pretty disappointed when I found out that most previous AC games had a main game and then another game to go with that generation, except for VI. Has FromSoft ever said anything about it?

Note: I’ve been DYING to play For Answer on the PS3 I bought last year, but sadly it’s impossible to find and ~$150 online😔 AC V and Verdict Day are the only ones available on the PS3 store. Are they worth it? I’ve heard negative things about them.

Edit: my one reply about Elden Ring being my introduction to FromSoft games being in the negatives is really funny…why are people getting offended that I discovered FromSoft from their biggest game? I’ve always known about Dark Souls I just never knew I would enjoy difficult games until I got older lmao.

Respect the 1v1s, bro.

Currently on my first ever playthrough of DS2 (started with Elden Ring 2 years ago and have been playing in reverse order), and I just got through the Dragon Shrine and received the Ashen Mist Heart. I thought it was really cool that these guys respect the 1v1 with the bigger dudes and let you pass if you honor the fight.

I just got through the infamous staircase where people always have clips of getting ganked, just to find out that if you simply beat the ONE dude waiting for you in the middle they will all let you pass. Definitely overblown on reels, and definitely a very cool “enemy” behavior.

Why don’t the operators just throw their phones out the room?

Personally bro, if I am in a life or death counter-terrorism situation and Dokkaebi calls me I’m just chucking my phone out of the room instead of risking being swung during the hang-up. It’s not like I’m gonna be checking cams anymore after that.

Ranked 3.0 is Destroying Egos and I Love It

Has anyone else been running into opponents who are comically salty about the lobbies that Ranked 3.0 is putting them into? I’m peak gold (not embarrassed to say it since I pretty much play 1-2 ranked seasons and then take a year or two years off because of university) and last night I ran into peak Platinums and Emeralds from Ranked 2.0 who were being extremely toxic to me and calling me trash despite being themselves placed in Silver. For some reason they decided that I would be the main target of the match and just kept arguing with me in game chat, saying how I was peak gold and that maybe one day I’ll get better. Well, this match ended in a 5-4 victory and I ended the second to last round by dropping a 3k (8 kills total so nothing crazy in the grand scheme of things, but satisfying) on the very guys who were bothered by me the entire match. They were absolutely silent in game chat afterward. I even had a peak emerald teammate insulting me for choking a 1v1 earlier in the game, yet I pointed out to both this teammate and the two dudes on the other team that they can talk about their rank all they want, but ranked 3.0 placed them silver for a reason. Ubisoft said that our visible rank would be our skill level, so I find it absolutely hilarious that these dudes were flexing their ranked 2.0 inflation while simultaneously calling me trash being placed in my lobbies. Needless to say embarrassing them and winning was the highlight of my night.

Note: The peak emerald began being toxic to me because he jumped out of the window and I killed him as Deimos lol.

Lego Flash Game LOTDK Format — What We Thinking?

Am I the only one who really wants to see a Lego Flash game after enjoying Legacy of the Dark Knight and seeing how well the combat and city traversal work in it? I know people have really been wanting a Superman or Wonder Woman Lego game and would rather have those first, but as someone who’s always had the Flash as his second favorite DC superhero under Batman, I really want to see what they could do with him, Central City, and his rogues. I know that he doesn’t have as much legacy content as Bats or Kal-El, but I can’t help but feel that the difficulties of making a Flash game (aka power-scaling around super-speed in a way that doesn’t get repetitive) could be solved in a Lego game, especially with the free-flow combat. I’ve personally never played Lego Marvel Superheroes, but I have heard from others that they did Quicksilver really well. If anyone has played it and has opinions on how they did him, please let me know your thoughts!

I think an original storyline with maybe some aspects from Flashpoint Paradox and other stories could work really well, even if they don’t have much to go off of. I know this is cope and will probably never happen, but what do you guys think of this idea? We NEED some kind of Flash game.

My Girlfriend Surprised Me by Decorating My University Graduation Cap Elden Ring-Themed

Hey everyone, this is my first ever Reddit post, and I’m using it to show off (humbly😁) how my girlfriend of 4 years surprised me by decorating my cap with an Elden Ring theme for our upcoming undergraduate ceremony on Monday. She’s always been an artist and has gifted me wonderful paintings of Star Wars, Dune, and other pieces of fiction that I love, I am so proud of her creativity all the time and how she has always appreciated me being so nerdy.

We are also Orthodox Christians (hence the cross in the middle), so “Grace” not only signifies the grace that guides the Tarnished, but also our sincere belief that we have only made it this far in both our university careers and relationship by God’s divine grace. I love how she took both my favorite game and our beloved faith, and merged them into one theme. Elden Ring was my first souls game and brought back my love for video games and fantasy, and since then I’ve been playing through all the souls games for the first time whenever school and my lifting routine allow for it. I have been going in reverse order, so I only have Dark Souls 1 and Demon Souls left! There is not a day that goes by where i do not think about how much joy overcoming the game’s challenges for the first time brought me.

Also, a cool little detail: the Age of Stars was the first ending I ever got on the game, so she decorated it with moons and stars :)

Edit: no, her name is NOT Grace 😅 but the comments about it are hilarious
