Any recommendation for a good Clinical Psychologist in Colombo ?

Looking for recommendations for a good female clinical psychologist in Colombo for my sister. We’ve seen a few psychologists already, but she felt they were quite rushed and didn’t really take the time to listen or understand what she was trying to explain.

We’re looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, attentive, and genuinely takes the time to listen, rather than rushing through the session.

Someone who is intuitive and makes the patient feel comfortable would be ideal.

Why are so many Sri Lankan drivers bad at… actually driving?

Not talking about reckless drivers or people who speed. That’s a different issue. Someone can drive like an idiot but still have good car control.

I’m talking about basic driving skills. Judging space, maneuvering in tight places, taking turns properly, keeping distance, positioning the car, etc.

I feel like the average driving skill here is surprisingly low, and somehow it’s getting worse.

Also, I think this is one of those things only a good driver notices. If you’re bad at driving yourself, you probably won’t even realize these are problems.

Not trying to hate on anyone, just genuinely curious. Is it the driving schools? The license test? Or something else?

Sri Lanka has a productivity problem more than a corruption problem

Before everyone jumps on me, hear me out.
Corruption is obviously a major issue, but I feel like we use it to explain literally everything.

We rarely talk about how normalized lateness, poor customer service, resistance to change, and low workplace accountability have become across both the public and private sectors.

If corruption disappeared tomorrow, would we suddenly become Singapore? I don’t think so.

I think our biggest challenge is culture: rewarding connections over competence, avoiding criticism, and accepting mediocrity because “that’s just Sri Lanka.”

Why are so many people hating on EVs ? Mostly BYDs

Why do so many people who’ve never even driven one seem to hate them? Especially BYDs

There might be negative things or issues about them, but I don’t think any of these people hating on them are doing that for those reasons.

Is it just pure envy ? Or intellectual thinking 😊 ?

White spots near the eye just after CT Angiogram

Just after doing my CT angiogram, I noticed whitish spots around my eye. And it’s been two weeks and they are still there.

Is this something that happens after that ?

Would appreciate any insights :)

Why are so many unsafe cars common in Sri Lanka?

Has anyone noticed how many vehicles on Sri Lankan roads have poor crash safety ratings (1-star NCAP etc.)?

Examples like Toyota Raize, Suzuki Fronx, Wagon R, etc. are extremely common.

Why do we import and buy so many low safety-rated vehicles? Is it because of price, lack of awareness, or weak regulations?

Also, is it just me, or do some of these cars seem to be involved in a lot of reckless driving and accidents? Has so many bad experiences with Toyota Raize drivers. Is that just perception because they are common, or is there something behind it?

What do you guys think?
(No hate btw, just a thought)

Help…Where to buy last minute gifts (for him) in Colombo ?

I need a birthday gift for my boyfriend by tomorrow, but I left it until the last minute. 😅

I’m looking for gift ideas other than food or gift vouchers. It needs to be something I can either have delivered (even via Uber Courier) or pick up around Colombo.

I’m especially interested in tech-related gadgets, unique accessories, or any thoughtful gifts that you’ve personally bought or received and would recommend (not the generic stuff).

Budget: Up to LKR 15,000.

People in Galle & Matara, what are we lacking food-wise?

I’m curious to hear from people living in Galle and Matara, what do you think our towns are missing when it comes to food and dining options?

Are there any types of restaurants, cafés, cuisines, concepts, or experiences that you wish existed here but don’t? For example, better cafés, dessert spots, late-night food, affordable hangout spots, premium dining experiences, co-working spaces ?

What food-related places do you think would actually do well in Galle or Matara if someone opened one?

Why is Windsurf digging their own grave ?

It is quite clear that there are lots and lots of issues with Windsurf. It used to be a great tool at the start.

People are leaving Windsurf every day and trying to find alternatives, and actually lots of them don’t want to leave. But they are forced to do so by the decisions Windsurf makes.

I’m confused as to why the team behind Windsurf is turning a blind eye to all these issues, as if they are something minor, when they are literally sitting on a gold mine that’s disappearing, because if they made this good, then no competitor would ever come close.

Why are they digging their own grave and turning a blind eye to all their users’ feedback?

Buddhist Monasteries or retreats in Sri Lanka

Does anyone know good buddhist monasteries, meditation centers or Aranya Senasana that a lay person can go and stay for a while ? (Not for a retreat program) Anywhere is fine. The only one I was able to find so far was the “Nihada Arana Meditaion Centre” in Peradeniya.

Appreciate any details
Thanks
