Is my Desk Setup giving Dark Academia vibes?

I'm doing calligraphy. So there's some inkpots and Pilot Pens for Calligraphy. Some calligraphy I put beneath a plastic cover on my desk. It's some quotes from Tolkiens Silmarillion.

There's some books and my Tolkien Collection displayed.

I welcome any recommendations.

Paintings with "Dark Academia" atmosphere

Hello fellow lovers of Dark Academia,

I'm looking for recommendations for paintings with a strong Dark Academia atmosphere.

I'm especially interested in works from Romanticism, Symbolism, or similar movements that depict themes like death, tragedy, melancholy, doomed love, the supernatural, ruins, or other dramatic and contemplative subjects. One example I came across was a painting of Death playing the fiddle by Arnold Böcklin, which perfectly captured the mood I'm after.

I'm planning to hang three framed art prints (in different sizes) in my workspace at home, so I'm looking for pieces that work well together aesthetically and create a moody atmosphere.

PC W: Millicent's Prothesis, H: Ask

Hello fellow Tarnished,

I'm in NG+ and apparently they patched the part in which yiu could have obtained two Talismans by Millicent but now only get the Rotten Winged Sword.

So I'm looking for Millicent's Prothesis.

I'd be very grateful for the Talisman.

I'm willing to trade. Just ask what you want and I will look into my inventory if I have it.

Thanks for your attention.

[PC] W: White Mask, H: Ask

Hello fellow Tarnished,

I need the White Mask for my Bleed Playthrough and messed up in NG+ so that the invaders in Mohgywn Palace don't show up.

I have items to trade. Just ask what you need in return.

I'm playing on Steam Deck. I've never traded items and therefore not quiet sure how it works.

Appreciate any helpful information.

Who shoots with Central Asian inspired / Steppe Bows and Thumb Draw?

Hello fellow archers,

I´m about to start my journey in Archery and the title is my question to you all.

I just ordered my first Ottoman-style bow from Turkey and I’m honestly ridiculously excited for it to arrive. I’ll also be learning thumb draw and getting a zihgir (thumb ring) for it. I’ve been fascinated by Ottoman, Turkic, Mongol, and other steppe archery traditions for a long time as I am originally Turkic rooted.

Would love to hear from people who already shoot thumb draw:

What bow are you using?

Any beginner mistakes I should avoid?

Any other important tips?

I´m happy to hear about your experiences, photos, lessons learned, frustrations, anything else.

Hauntingly beautiful chant in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug OST - Girion, Lord of Dale

I just wanted to share this with you all.

The dwarf chanting about the House of Durin during scene in "The Desolation of Smaug" in which Bard discovers the Ancestry of the House of Durin on a tapestry is so eerily beautiful to me.

Chanting is at 2:24 in the clip.

I didn't know where else to post this. Hope you enjoy.

And it was Maliketh!

Sorry guys, I just wanted to share my joy!

I'm struggling so much with most Bosses even after 90 hours of gameplay. And then I managed to beat Maliketh on the first attempt!

Granted I'm on Level 165 and summoned my Mimic. He actually did a good job lol. I've used Malenia's Blade and Uchigatana with Ashes of War: Bloodblade. Both weapons are maxed.

As I said, just wanted to share.

Love this game!

Am I the Only One Who Feels Like Life Over 40 Is Just a Long Wait for... Nothing?

I'm 42. No partner, never married, no kids. I live alone. I lost my job a while ago, and while I did enroll in a six-month online course in Digital Marketing (which gives me some structure during the week), the weekends are brutal — quiet, empty, and increasingly unbearable.

This has been my life for years now. I used to be okay with solitude, even prided myself on being independent. But lately, I just feel like I'm slowly vanishing. The digital marketing course feels like a distraction rather than a purpose. I keep asking myself: What’s the point of all this?

And here's where it gets real: I feel like a failure. No career right now, no family, no children, no “big love” story to look back on. Just a collection of quiet days that look exactly the same. People say “It’s never too late” — but honestly, isn’t that just something we tell ourselves to cope?

I feel like society doesn't know what to do with women like me. If you’re over 40 and don’t have kids or a partner, you’re either pitied, ignored, or expected to be some “cool independent aunt” who travels and does yoga retreats. Newsflash: that’s not fulfilling either.

I'm tired of pretending I’m okay with this kind of life when, deep down, I feel like I missed the boat — all the boats. And now I’m stuck watching others live “normal” lives while I try to convince myself that personal growth and online certificates are enough.

Is anyone else out there feeling this way? Please don’t just sugarcoat it. I need real talk from women my age. How are you dealing with the loneliness, the aging, the regrets, and the sense that it might just be too late to change anything?
