Which oil to use in Generac whole house generator installed around 2008?

We've had storms and power outtage so our Generac has been running non-stop for 5 days snd likely will need to run another week. We had it maintained less than a year ago but I'm afraid because of the constant use we may need to add oil. I don't have the brochure anymore; what type of oil can I add to keep it working?

Lost my temper with a fellow Christian and feel awful ...

We got word from an organization that our names, and possibly our SS #'s and other info had been breached so we called to find out more. The customer service rep at the organization had an attitude (IMO) that seemed dismissive and un-empathetic. I felt they were impatient, talking over me, talking down to me, and as I tried to explain my concerns and felt unheard, I in turn lost my patience and told them they were a terrible representative of that organization. I really meant it! It was true! But it was wrong. So I apologized, but I'm not sure they heard it because I realized they had hung up on me. I called back and got a different rep. I told them I'd spoken to "X" (the name of the 1st rep) and regretted my temper/attitude and wondered if they might pass my apology on to that person, and they said they would. I've come back to the Lord recently and am so sorry I slipped in this way. I feel partially justified in speaking out but I also know that I was filled with pride and self, and mostly sorry that I may have hurt that rep's spirit. What else might I do in this situation?

Lost my temper with a fellow Christian and feel awful ...

We got word from an organization that our names, SS #'s and some other possible info had been breached so we called to find out more. The customer service rep maybe told us all they could or had access to -- but their attitude was, well, IMO, dismissive and un-empathetic. They were impatient, talking over me, talking down to me, and as I tried to explain my concerns and felt unheard, I in turn lost my patience and told them they were a terrible representative of that organization. I really meant it! It was true! But it was wrong. So I apologized, but I'm not sure they heard it because I realized they had hung up on me. I called back and got a different rep. Hospital employee's loved one is a patient - HIPAA concern or A-OK?

A hospital employee has a family member who becomes a patient in the hospital where the employee works. The employee is not part of the patient's care team and doesn't access the patient's hospital records (though they have permission from the patient to look at their online patient portal and probably do this). The employee is the patient's caregiver and medical POA and remains with the patient throughout their hospitalization, communicating with providers and advocating for the patient. The patient welcomes the prayers and encouragement of friends and family, so with the patient's permission, the employee lets friends and family know of patient's condition, treatment, and updates, via phone calls, texts, and FB messenger. Any HIPAA issues with any of this?

Was the garage door fix-it guy right about this issue?

We had the gentleman from the garage door company put on a new rubber trim (astragal) on our garage door. All was well but I still saw a gap on one end of the door, where light (and presumably pests, and water) could get in. When I asked if he could adjust the closure of the door, the guy said: nope, can't do that, doesn't work that way, wouldn't make a difference, it's your garage floor (there's a crack down the middle). He was nice and all, but that issue gnawed at me so I got on the web and found the way to adjust it. I did it myself (an easy fix) and now the door closes all the way with no gap at all. My question is: I got the job done, but was it the right thing to do, mechanics/operation-wise?

Not-so-great service from maintenance guy -- to report or not to report?

Years ago, we bought a garage door opener from a business we liked, and when the guy came to put a new rubber trim on the door, I asked if he could adjust the height of the door, since the door doesn't closed uniformly and there's a slight gap at one end, letting light, water, and possibly pests in. He said, nope, can't do that, won't work, it's your garage floor that's the problem. I thought about it, did a quick internet search, and easily adjusted the garage door myself (and trust me, I'm NOT a skilled DIY-er). I thought, MAN! We paid that guy and he either dodged the fix or didn't know how to do it. My question is: should I let the business know? The guy was really nice with a good-ish attitude. He wasn't young (not old, maybe 40s?), but I don't want him to be docked, so to speak. Still, though, customers should get the right service, right? I could easily let it go, but would speaking up be the right thing so that the company is well served (and future customers, too)?

Is this raccoon, possum, or other poop? [NW Indiana]

We have a possum who seems to walk along the foundation of the house, and we have those black mouse-bait houses that get occasionally turned upside down by some animal. By one of these, I found this pile of scat. Please tell me it isn't raccoon. I'm so scared of the roundworm ... and I apologize for the bad quality of photo.

Wierd question from coworker about the month my parents moved into their home

I work with a guy from another culture. He's been a nice coworker and we've shared about our growing up years and have a nice rapport. Some wrinkles, though: he once asked me if I wanted to invest in some scheme he's got going and I declined (what a wierd workplace question, by the way).

Many months later, he said, "The home that your parents moved into in _____ (and here he named the year!), what month did they move in?" I wondered how he knew the year they built/moved into the home (had I told him? maybe, but I couldn't remember being so specific). I was irritated and told him I didn't know. And then I wondered: why this random, weird question? Years before when something scammy was afoot with someone else, I'd signed my parents up with the big 3 credit reporting agencies, freezing their information, and that's still intact. I also signed their home up with our county's fraud alert, so that if any fraudsters try to get their home, we'll be alerted. I'm thinking of signing up with Innovis, ChexSystems, and the utility place.

I'm just wierded our by it. I want to confront him and say, "what the heck, why did you ask about that? Have you any idea how inappropriate (and possibly scammy) that question is?" What should I do?

What company does soil grading to divert water away from foundation?

We get water in the basement. I read on a 4-year-old post that adding gutter extensions and arranging the soil in the right grading can divert water away from the foundation. But who do we call to do this job?

Best place for mold testing in a basement/home?

We've had water in the basement off and on through the years, and want to see if any of it is the toxic sort. Any suggestions for a reputable testing (and possible remediation) company?

Our basement is a toxic mess -- where to start to renovate it?

Our home is 60+ years old. Our basement has long had water issues but we had a pipe system laid under the tile that usually keeps the basement from flooding. Still, we've had our share of flooding and I'm pretty sure we have mold issues. I'm not sure the old pipe system is still working since, after a really heavy rain, we had some seepage. We also have old floor tile with likely asbestos that we'd like to cover with a poured floor. And, we have old mouse poop in the dropped ceiling tiles! Where to start with all of this? We'd like to reclaim the basement but the toxic stuff seems overwhelming. Also, would one contractor be able to handle all of these issues?

Community FB post with no medical/patient/work-related info and HIPAA

I work in a hospital and had a question about our municipal community, so I posted the question (which relates to living in our town - nothing at all related to work) on a private FB page created for residents of the town. It had nothing to do with the hospital, medical stuff, patients, etc. As folks replied to my question, I "liked" their comment, as a way of acknowledging and thanking them. What if some of the responders were either loved ones of former patients (who knew where I work and what I do and the fact that I saw their loved one), or folks whose names sound vaguely familiar as possibly having been patients? Of course, nothing was shared about anything like that -- this was a home/town related question. I've read that even "liking" FB comments from former patients is a HIPAA no-no. Would that related to this and should I delete my post?

How at risk am I (racoon poop exposure)

While cleaning the back yard, I found about 4 pieces/piles of what I think must be racoon poop -- several were old and dry, and one was fresh and smelly. I sprayed them all with bleach water and bagged them. As I did that, I could smell the newer poop. I should have worn a mask. I made the mistake of looking up the roundworm dangers and am so afraid. How at risk am I?

Insect or crawdad? About the size of a mouse ...

Found in parking lot in the midwest, seems it was run over. Thought it was a really big beetle but then I saw the claw. It's about the size of a mouse, maybe 3 - 4 inches long.
