Town or Settlement survival stories? Or fort stories? Looking for recommendations.

I enjoyed the Walking Dead books - the parts I enjoyed most are when the characters were rebuilding a town, or figuring out society again. I like that there was a present threat to be defended against. The prison, Terminous, Alexandrea. That stuff.

Likewise, forts on the frontier stories (like old westerns) fit what I'm looking for. I have a soft spot for the very bad Van Damme movie "the Legionnaire", when they're defending the fort against "the natives", or the old movie Zulu, with defense of the farm. Bonus points if the recommendation avoids the unfortunate racial tropes of these two examples....

Deep Space 9 and Babylon 5 hit this mark *sometimes.* A looming threat and they need to prepare.

The setting doesn't matter too much. Sci-fi, post apocalypse, western. Fantasy would be a dream come true if such a story exists. What I enjoy is the narrative of figuring out how a group of people is going to survive in a hostile land. I like when the settlement/fort/space station's functioning becomes a big part of the narrative.

Any suggestions?

Vegetarian Recipes?

I got a blackstone for my birthday last month and I'm loving it! I'm a little smash burgered out, and we are "part time vegetarians", we try to limit our meat intake for health reasons.

So now that I've binged red meat for a full month - what are some of the best vegetarian recipes? Meat light recipes, where meat isn't the main attraction?

Bosch 500 Dishwasher is aborting the cycle! How do I fix this?

I cant figure this out. We've had the Bosch 500 series dishwasher for about a year and half now and lately the dishwasher has been aborting the program after the first rinse cycle. The app doesn't tell us why its aborting the program. I've checked the drains an filters, the door is firmly closed, I've cleaned the seals. Resetting the dishwasher doesn't help. I just cant figure this out.

How do I find out why my dishwasher is canceling the clean cycle?

I posted this over on r/appliance but thought this might be a better sub for the question.

EDIT: Model number is SHP65CM5N

Hose spigot is spraying from the nob?

I live in N. Illinois, so it's a anti-freeze spigot if that makes any difference. It's spraying from the nob when on. No leak when off.

What can I do to fix this?

Buy Back question - Sorry, StudentAid.gov is currently unavailable.

We're trying to apply for buyback. My wife is very close to forgiveness, but we're stuck in the SAVE limbo. We're ready to pay the buyback and get her PSLF.

Every time we start the reconsideration process we confirm her contact information and then on the second screen we get:

>Sorry, StudentAid.gov is currently unavailable.

It's been three weeks now of getting the same message. What do we do?

RESOLVED: I attempted to apply first in Chrome. It didnt' work. So I opened it in Edge, and same - no success. I then opened a live chat, by going here: https://studentaid.gov/help-center/contact , explained the problem. I'm still waiting for a reply in the chat, but the page works now!

Simply opening a live chat (without actually chatting) appears to resolve the issue.
