I don't know what's happening, but I couldn't install Steam on my laptop. It downloads from Chrome just fine, but when the “Updating Steam” window pops up, the download becomes insanely slow — even a snail is faster than that. For some reason, during the update, the download speed drops to literally KB/s.

Before you judge me for my poor internet, I want to tell you that I’m getting 30–40 MB/s on Xbox and while downloading stuff from Chrome. And even after enduring the slow download, as soon as it finishes updating, it says, “Steam needs to be online to complete the update.”

I've just ordered the ASUS Gaming V16 RTX 5060 from Flipkart. It's my first laptop, so I have almost zero knowledge about laptops. Can someone please help me with what I should do after receiving it, and how I can check whether it has the same specifications as the one I ordered? I just want to make sure the seller didn’t scam me by sending a lower model.

Use Case: Mainly coding/programming and casual gaming. I’ll also use it for general college/work stuff and multitasking.

Preferred Specs: RTX 4060 or RTX 5050, AMD processor preferred, good thermals and reliability, 16GB RAM or upgradeable RAM.

Notes: This will be my first laptop, so I don’t have much experience with laptops. Whenever I research a laptop, I keep finding people talking about different issues with it, which has made me really confused about what to buy. I’m leaning toward AMD because after reading a lot of reviews, I’ve started having trust issues with Intel. I am planning to give the Graphic Era GECET exam for scholarship in BTech CSE, and I had a few doubts regarding the exam pattern and preparation.

In the sample paper I saw:

• General Aptitude + Verbal Ability + Reasoning = 50 marks
• PCM = 50 marks
• Out of PCM, Maths alone had around 30 marks

So I wanted to ask from people who have already given GECET:

1. From where should I prepare for Reasoning and Quantitative Ability/Aptitude? Any YouTube channel, book, app, or website recommendation?

2. Is the actual exam pattern same as the sample paper? How are the marks distributed exactly?

3. How difficult is the exam overall? Is it easier than JEE level or more like basic aptitude + board level PCM?

4. How is the exam conducted?

   • Do they make you join on camera with AI supervision/proctoring?
   • Or do teachers/invigilators monitor live?

Would really appreciate help from someone who has already appeared for it. Thanks!
