Bury St Edmunds or Stowmarket?

Now we are looking at new built houses in these areas, we are still deciding wether to live in stowmarket or bury st edmunds. As I am still looking for a permanent role as a social worker (without UK experience yet). Where would you guys think is the best place to be to look for a social worker between these two?

We are looking at houses in Hopkins Home Mill Grove (BSE) and Hopkins Stowmarket/Crest Nicholson - Aspen Grange. Also if anyone has lived in these properties right now, is there anything we should look out for?

Thank you

Cheaper option for wedding cake

Hey guys, I am looking for a naked cake in Sofia. Planning to cut cost the budget for the cake because wedding cakes are around 400E and above.

Any recommendations that would not cost my arm and leg? I have 30 guests. I don't mind if it's the most basic taste. Not sure if it's possible but 100E would be maximum. If possible?

Thank you.

EU Visa with Misspelled Surname – Is a Consulate Correction Letter Sufficient?

Has anyone experienced receiving an EU visa with one misspelled letter in the surname and travelling with only a letter of correction from the Consulate?

Background: My mom received her visa by courier yesterday and noticed that one letter in her surname is incorrect — they wrote T instead of I.

We called the Consulate, and they said we do not need to send the passport back because they will issue a letter of correction confirming the mistake.

I’m just worried that this might cause problems for her when travelling, since the visa sticker itself will still have the incorrect letter. Would the letter from the Consulate be sufficient, or should we insist on getting the visa sticker corrected?

Has anyone experienced something similar? Am I overthinking this? 😅

Thank you!

Old house (renovated) or New Build house?

I'm considering buying an older house that's been very recently renovated (new electricals etc) Vs a new build.

They are both 3 beds but the older house has slightly higher area. 925sq feet Vs the 832 sq feet.

Anything we should be aware of or look out for?

A bit more information: new build is with floor heating and heat pumps. Older house is with a standard gas boiler.

New build doesn't have windows in the bathrooms. As in all of them.

Many thanks.

Update:

To answer some of the questions.

New build is in a village, 10 mins drive from a town.

Older house is in town, near centre.

Older house is a timber frame. Renovation is done well and all electrics changed also

Wrong CVV but went through

Nagbayad ako sa PAL but maling CVV nailagay ko. Nag go through sya sa app based on the screenshots but di tinanggap ni PAL. Sabi nila di daw nila natanggap kasi mali ang CVV. Anyone nakatry ng ganto? Marereverse ba sya? Do I have to call metrobank for this? Thank you.

I will be moving to Cambridge soon after I get my spouse visa. But I am already a Registered Social Worker in England and I have 9 years of experience in the Philippines as social worker specifically for abuse and exploited children. I also have a master’s degree under Erasmus Mundus program in social work.

I do not have a driving license yet, planning to learn and get it in the UK when I move there. I know most of the roles in the UK needed social workers who have driving license. But Im just wondering if it’s still possible to practice as a social worker in Cambridge even if I don’t have a driving license yet?

Or in general, what would you advice me to do while I am still working on my driving license when I move to Cambridge? Because I am thinking of maybe volunteering to other related fields just so I get the feels.
