Why did the Mountain Bike world go away from 200MM+ travel suspension?
I've been watching some videos of people building bikes with the Marzocchi 300mm fork with modern geometry. It seems to me that a fork with more travel means you can run it softer, which would be able to suck up trail features, (I.E) rocks, roots, drops. Stuff like that, which in my head might make you faster on a trail. So why don't world cup downhill racers race with longer travel forks? And why is the average mountain bike suspension travel around 130-170mm
