No A/C in 4 star hotel- Hotwire fights refund despite written commitment from Hotel

Just curious if someone else had similar experiences. I booked a hotel room in Berlin, Germany on rather short notice in June. 3 nights for about $1000 total, through hotwire. Was supposed to be a 4-star property and have air condition. Got there, the place is a dump and the A/C is broken. The hotel was surprisingly accommodating though and agreed to a partial refund for the first night and full refund for the remaining two. I have that in writing in a Whatsapp chat, as thats how the hotel support team communicated.

When we get home, 3 weeks go by and the refund doesn't show up. When I contact hotwire, they say they know of nothing and they wont refund anything.

So I do a chargeback through my credit card. Now another 2 months later, they keep fighting this. They have seen the printout from the hotel where they confirm this commitment and their stance is that it was a non-refundable booking, so they are not refunding.

We are now at the arbitration stage with VISA. It just seems ludicrous that even with all that documentation they are fighting this tooth and nail. Definitely the last time I will be using hotwire.

The MFA for the KIA app is totally messed up

This has happened before, but seems even worse now. Every few weeks I get prompted in the KIA app to re-authenticate, which includes an MFA code sent to my cell.

That is supposed to be good for 2 minutes (which is kinda short already) but it doesn't even arrived within those 2 minutes. I have to trigger the MFA code a few times before it sends at all, then I usually get a barrage of them, at which point it is hard to figure out which one is the correct one.

Totally annoying. Anybody else with that problem? I get similar MFA codes from other apps or sites no problem and no delays.

Insane boarding experience with LOT for WAW to EWR

I flew EWR to WAW two weeks ago and back WAW to EWR yesterday. It was a rather strange experience, especially for the return flight.

The incoming flight did not get a jet bridge in Warsaw, and we had to deplane into buses and were driven to the terminal. A little weird, but the flight was a bit late so I thought they might have missed their slot. Also, they did have a separate bus for business class so there was no wait or anything.

Fast forward to the return flight. Same thing. No jet bridge. Crammed into busses. No separate bus for business class this time. Took forever just to get to the plane, they had a stand just outside the freight terminal, which is about 2 miles away from the boarding gate. It was raining, and everybody had to queue on the steps outside and haul their luggage up the stairs. There were several elderly passengers who couldn't handle that and other passengers had to help them with their luggage, no assistance from the crew. All that in the streaming rain. Several passengers actually refused to get off the bus until the rain eased up. Totally crazy boarding experience. Then you arrive at your business class seat totally drenched and they hand you a glass of champagne to tell you how much they appreciate your business..... not quite the right set of priorities there ...

Has anyone experienced something similar with them? Given the fact that they are Polands flag carrier and this is a major route for them, it seems very weird that they handle it this way. The plane also seemed sub-standard (older 787 with ancient interior)

Can't find any information on that. Given how other EVs depreciate from new, and seeing how this is a new brand/ new type vehicle I would probably strongly consider leasing mine. Then again I can also see how that might be an issue with all the customization options you are supposed to be able to do on your own, which is not usually something that works with leased cars.

Does anybody know any info on leasing options for the Slate?
