LAS - What would you do?
Is it worth arriving early to try to make the spa and lounges at LAS? Are they overcrowded?
I saw a few XpresSpa and 3 lounges.

Anyone here from the gaysian choir at the Vancouver Unison festival? I spotted a gaggle of gaysians here and wanted to meet up with y’all.
Debating removing this from my line up. What's the best bang for buck way to use the points?
I’m looking to start a small, casual group of guys for weekly weekday calls - starting 1:1 or maybe 2–3 people, and possibly growing if it clicks. Thinking to do it over Zoom.
I usually take these calls while I’m out walking, so the vibe is relaxed but active. I’m not looking for penpals or passive check-ins—I’m looking for real conversation with people who actually like to talk and engage.
Life updates, what’s going on in your week, interesting ideas, new tech or inventions, travel, fitness, outdoor stuff, random cool things you’ve come across—just good back-and-forth conversation.
You’re someone who actually enjoys talking, not just listening quietly or dropping one-word replies. A bit of energy and curiosity goes a long way.
Especially welcome if you’re into things like:
Just looking for a few solid conversations that can become a regular thing if there’s good chemistry.
Anyone have a workaround for the sync lag for iCloud Photos?
4GB should not take an hour between desktop and iPad OS on gigabit line.
Heading to South Korea later this year and trying to understand the current payment situation there from people who are actually there now or visited recently.
I know historically Samsung Pay worked really well in Korea because older Samsung phones supported MST + NFC, while Apple Pay (NFC only) wasn't needed to be adopted until later. But it’s been like 6–7 years since those older Galaxy S20-era phones.
So I’m curious what the reality is in 2026 now:
* Is Apple Pay widely accepted these days?
* Does it work reliably at convenience stores, cafes, restaurants, subway stations, etc.?
* How about at traditional markets/night markets/street food stalls?
* Are there still lots of places that only want physical cards or cash?
Also trying to understand the broader payment culture:
* Is Korea now similar to China where almost everyone pays by phone and cash is basically disappearing?
* Or is it more mixed / still card-heavy?
And if Apple Pay/NFC tap isn’t accepted:
* Do most places still accept foreign Visa/Mastercard physical cards?
* Has anyone used WOWPASS/Wow Money successfully as a fallback?
Would especially appreciate hearing:
* what didn’t work
* situations where you unexpectedly needed cash
* whether tourists actually run into payment problems anymore
Thanks!
What do you consider to be a one meal eating window?
I eat a large lunch and about an hour after I stop I get hungry. Do I just water through it or should I be eating more?
Also another issue is I tried eating more but my stomach can’t handle the volume so I’m feeling like I’m actually eating twice, not once.
Lots of posts about going to Mutianyu for a day trip. Does it make any sense to overnight it there? Anything to do in that area, other than great wall?
Ran into another surprise. No shrimp this time. They must have heard your feedback. Instead a very safe bacon topped nacho dish with lots of mysterious liquid cheese.
This came with a watermelon margarita.
Me:
Health-focused without being obsessive. I travel often and build my routine around nutrition, recovery, and now consistent training. Still optimizing my go to one-pot protein meal.
Café person > club person (unless it’s an airport club). Conversations > Endless texting. Stargazing > Celebrity gazing
Big fan of movement - planes, trains, road trips -anything that leads to new places and perspectives. Into investing and tax efficiency - I’m that guy 😂
Anyone here in Asia Q3/Q4?
You:
Enjoys traveling and discovering new places, maybe even shares a bit of an avgeek side. You care about your well-being, staying active, eating well, and taking time to recharge.
You like genuine connection: hanging out, talking, and getting to know each other beyond just texting. More into relaxed, low-key time than big party scenes.
