Bessent Promises Stablecoin Legislation On the Still Warm Grave of the Clarity Act

two actions occurred just days apart: world liberty financial got banking charter. Scott bessent announces that stable coin provision from clarity act will be carried forward. Who does that?

The administration killed Clarity and then saved the part that puts money in his own pocket.

\*\*before you get your panties in a bunch\*\* Dems are too pathetic to have past legal guardrails to do anything about it because theyre so preoccupied with wins that are more optics than helpful.

Amazon Should Leave NYC if It Dislikes Delivery Protection Act (Intro 518)

Was curious about the proposed Intro 518, so I pulled up Amazon's 10-Q. Turns out their retail side is swimming in cash — last year the retail division pulled in over $34 billion in operating profit, largely off the $69 billion it made in ad revenue. Kind of a bad look to be squeezing drivers while posting numbers like that.

Amazon's claiming the regulations will force them to pass costs onto consumers, making deliveries pricier for everyday New Yorkers. But their own revenue reporting says otherwise — they can easily afford to directly hire these drivers, pay a living wage, and operate safely in our neighborhoods without raising prices a cent. Kind of breaks my brain. Id bet that theyre bluffing.

Not paying DSPs properly isn't the invisible hand of the market. It's a middle finger of corporate greed.

Democrats Scorch Gillibrand Over Attempting Bipartisan Legislation and Having Common Sense

TL;DR: Warren is butt-hurt because her strategy of pressuring Gary Gensler to regulate crypto by enforcement failed and made her look ridiculous. Like a total Karen, when she got publicly embarrassed, she doubled down by attacking her own party through the Clarity Act. She is now aggressively waving her finger at Sen. Gillibrand (D-NY) for working on a bipartisan bill that a ton of other Democrats actually support. Even though Whitehouse divestment is achievable, apparently, having no rules or guidelines is better than just policing an industry by self appointed community watch groups.

Sen Warren is personally leading the charge to torch the bill. Because she couldn't get her own party to kill it, she is using outside activist groups as a weapon to circulate a nasty letter in the Senate hitting Gillibrand below the belt over her son’s crypto ties. Warren is screaming that Democrats will "lose their moral authority" if Gillibrand is allowed to broker the final compromise.

This has forced Warren into a bizarre, hypocritical alignment with traditional banking lobbies, when she has historically been a massive adversary to Dimon and the big banks. This is a case of a Karen who looked foolish, cost her party a significant constituency in the last election, and is now acting out by trying to over-determine her own party's legislative agenda just to save face.

Democraioc Karens Target Gillibrand for Legislating and Common Sense

TL;DR: Warren is completely butt-hurt because her strategy of pressuring Gary Gensler to regulate crypto by enforcement failed and made her look ridiculous. Gillibrand (D-NY) for working on a bipartisan bill that a ton of other Democrats actually support. Warren is screaming that Democrats will "lose their moral authority" against if Gillibrand is allowed to broker the final compromise.

This has forced Warren into a bizarre, hypocritical alignment with traditional banking lobbies. And yeah—counter to popular belief in the crypto industry, Warren has historically been a massive adversary to Dimon and the big banks. But this is a case of a Karen who looked foolish, cost her party a significant constituency in the last election, and is now acting out by trying to over-determine her own party's legislative agenda just to save face.

Vault: Thune prepares for crypto vote, bipartisan or not

Tl;dr: thune didn't let it go to cloture and is now waiting for tomorrow morning to give bipartisan negotiations a few more hours. This is a sign that he's negotiating in good faith to actually pass a law, rather than intentionally marching the bill into a ditch just to blame the Democrats. its a rare act of a u.s. senator exerting energy to get something done.

T-minus 9hrs: Senate Clown Show to Adjourn Tonight 6pm to 8pm

The time has come. Sen Thune is expected to delay recess to give the senate time to get something accomplished. In this window he might schedule clarity for a vote BUT KEEP IN MIND: this is a Republican poison pill.

Dems have very little incentive to send this to reconciliation before the midterms. If they win the house, they get to take a larger part in authoring clarity. If they dont, they just get what they had before (which would hurt their ego but not much else). This pushes back clarity until November to early 2027 when nobody gains from blocking it.

Potential backfire: if dems overplay their hand as they tend to do, by also blocking the continuing resolution, theres a good chance they manage to f*ck up taking the house. Unfortunately, this means the ideal scenario for Republicans in the midterms is to let dems block both clarity and CR, which is just enough rope for dems to hang themselves. Of course, as is common these days, the most strategic path for both sides is to achieve nothing. The only silver lining is that dems are so disliked that a few of them might decide that getting something done is better than the risk of losing the midterms. GOP? Theyre trapped. No hope for them.

Citing Trump, Schumer announces bill to create anti-corruption bureau

Dems got their time machine legislation. This bill allows people to sue for getting rug pulled by Trump and Melania Coin.

IF GOP PASSES THIS, DEMS WILL SUPPORT CLARITY. So the question becomes: WILL TRUMP RUG YOU AGAIN?

Anti-Corruption Bureau Act Likely Horse Traded For Clarity Act.

Dem's criticism of Clarity is still confounding to anyone following but placed in the context of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Act, it actually shows a coherent political strategy. While World Liberty Financial is not in the purview of Clarity, it is directly the subject of the Anti-Corruption Act. The gridlock surrounding Clarity is a calculated, asymmetric leverage play by Senate Democrats.

So what does this mean... it means Clarity Act, Debt Ceiling, chair appointments, every single piece of inertia is directly used as leverage for passing the Anti-Corruption Act.

Dems have played their final hand. It's now up to Republicans to hold their nose and sign in Clarity even if it means that they are not allowed to steal, grift, or self deal for a few years. Turn and cough like everyone else.

Functionally Equivalent vs. Substantially Similar to Complete Bull Sh*t

American Bankers Association (ABA) holds up Clarity Act for two paragraphs regarding esoteric legalize.

They claim that language needs to change from functionally equivalent to substantially similar. "Tiny surgical changes" amount to just a delay tactic.

🚨 🚨 U.S. Senate on Verge of Possibly Achieving Something

The Verbal Breakthrough Is Real: Behind closed doors, Senators Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) have firmly shaken hands on a compromise framework. If GOP accepts, 7 to 10 dems are added to the list of supporters for Clarity Act.

"The U.S. Will be the Crypto Capital of the World!" ...Like Albany, Tallahassee, or Harrisburg

You thought Trump wanted to make the Paris of Crypto. Or even the DC. He actually meant something more like the state capitals that are outshined by most of the rest the state that theyre in.

- The European Union: Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA)

- Russia: The Cryptocurrency Law (2026)

- UAE: VARA & DMCC Frameworks

- Brazil: VASP Regulatory Regime

- Cayman Islands: Custodian & Exchange Licensing

- Japan: Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA)

- United States: just winging it

THE CAYMAN ISLANDS HAS MORE REGULATION THAN THE U.S. WITH REGARDS TO CRYPTO.

Sen. Thune Determines People Care More About Sanctions and Attornery General Confirmation Than Clarity

Sen. Thune announces he is delaying the floor vote to pass the Clarity aact. Even though most people cant name who is about to be confirmed for labor secretary, apparently this is a big priority for floor time before the senate takes vacation. Giving POTUS broad rights to issue additional tariffs is more important. 🤡

Washington loses focus because of GOP Dumpster Fire

While politicians are divided on most everything, polling reveals a rare consensus among everyday voters on the ground regarding Clarity Act. Killing it is retarded. 🤡

Clarity Act: 52% approval among registered voters

...for passing the crypto regulatory framework (HarrisX).

Venezuela: 33% approval for the military strikes that toppled Maduro

...though 72% approve of Maduro's actual arrest (Harvard CAPS/Harris). Overall approval for U.S. policy toward the country sits at 41% (Quinnipiac).

Iran: 34% approval

...for the administration's handling of the conflict (Quinnipiac); only about 33% back active military engagement.

Greenland: 37% approval

...for trying to purchase it from Denmark (Quinnipiac).

Cuba: 28% approval

...for the current foreign fuel blockade; 15% approval for direct military action or a takeover (YouGov).

SAVE Act: 54% approval overall

...for the voter registration proof-of-citizenship requirement. And before anyone starts trying to say SAVE Act is actually relevant, note that Pew Research shows intense polarization with 81% approval among Republicans and 32% approval among Democrats.

Democrats to Submit Alternative to "Pile of Sh*t" Ethics Provision

TL;DR: if tillis and Cornyn stay put and let the dems have their pound of flesh, there's a path to passing. 7 dems are added leaving only 2 needed (not including McConnell in this).

Dems are proposing their own language for the ethics provision. That would likely gain support of 7 democrats:

Senators Angela Alsobrooks

Cory Booker

Mark Warner

Catherine Cortez Masto

Ruben Gallego

John Hickenlooper

Raphael Warnock

Because Hawley is butt hurt and Rand Paul prefers completely anarchy, theyll need 2 more votes:

Mitch McConnell (they put him in a suit and feed him drugs)

Kirsten Gillibrand (getable. Entirely up to gop)

John Tester (maybe... theres alot of farm provisions in the bill so there might be aligned interest on this)

Amy Kloubachar (same as tester but never liked clarity. Still, ag committee leverage might help here)

Also, tillis has been signaling that theres no chance. This might suggest he knows what dems are requiring from ethics provision and hes trying to back out. So tillis or Cornyn might back out after seeing the updated ethics because they're children and are scared of coastal states.
