Lvl 30 Sun cleric tank here. I started running some LFR dungeons around lvl 20 to level up faster, but lately I've been getting absolutely flamed in chat because I don't know the routes and sometimes get lost / overpull... classic stuff. Eventually we finish the dungeon just fine.

It doesn't really bother me, but I'm wondering if I'm actually doing something terrible or if people are just being toxic out of boredom (if it's the latter, then I'm fine with that).

I've tanked on paladin in retail for 2 seasons in TWW, so I'm not entirely new to the role. It's just that I have no idea how I'm supposed to learn the routes and packs other than going in blind and learning by doing.

How do all of you other tank players approach dungeons? Or are just players on CoA generally veteran classic players that know the routes already?

I initially made a post asking how people felt about CoA, and the responses seemed to be very positive overall. So I gave CoA a try, and I must say I'm not having a great time after leveling my Templar tank to level 13. I feel like I must be missing something, but there's just nothing that pulls me in.

It's probably because I've never played Classic WoW and I'm not a WoW veteran, but I feel like a lot of the QoL features from retail are missing here.

Questing is a mess because of group loot. Killing basic mobs is impossible unless you get invited by the 10 other people around you doing the same quest (wtf?).

Addon compatibility is a joke. I learned tanking in TWW using Cell, Clique, and Bartender. Cell is incompatible, and the other two are actually bugged despite being part of the official launcher. I just can't be bothered to relearn another, less customizable addon through an outdated interface (I've already spent so much time doing this in TWW). I tried setting up Grid as a Cell replacement, but I can't even adjust the size of the party frames, seriously?

WeakAuras is kind of pointless unless you're able to make your own custom auras with the important abilities to track and more graphical options. I've only managed to make a resource bar, and that's about as far as I can go. Added to that, it's hard to even know what to track because there just aren't enough guides or information regarding the classes right now (obviously, it's a private server project and all the classes are new), but that's still something that bums me out.

There are so many questions I have regarding leveling, mounts, transmogs, professions, and I can't get answers unless I'm lucky and someone replies to me on Discord through the sea of messages. World chat is no better.

"Just play and discover things by yourself." I tried, but WoW isn't really a game you can fully enjoy without knowing what you're doing. In TWW, I had to spend hours researching basic mechanics just to understand what I was doing and where I was heading in order to grasp the game's potential. Here, I feel like I have to relearn everything from scratch: what are Ascension Points, how do I collect mounts and transmog sets outside of the shop, what does the Vanity menu do, how do I change my character's appearance, how do I build my character optimally...

I'm sure many of you here will actually have the answers I'm looking for, but that's only because I made this post in the first place.

Props to Dutch and his team for pulling this off. The classes seem really interesting, and it's a breath of fresh air compared to the staleness of retail's design philosophy. But it seems like I'm just not the target audience for this game.

I'll give other classes a try before giving up, but my issues weren't class-related to begin with, so I'm not sure that'll help.

Rant over. Maybe someone here can guide me a bit, or maybe I just have the wrong mindset and expectations going into CoA.

I'm trying to decide whether I should give Conquest of Azeroth a try or resub for Midnight on retail.

I started playing WoW again in TWW as a tank, but I stopped before Midnight launched because of the addon situation and the class pruning.

So, is CoA actually a good alternative to modern WoW? Does it have that little spark of old WoW magic, or is it just an overhyped private server project?

I know it might be too early to ask, but if Blizzard decides to shut it down, I'd rather get into it sooner than later.

I’m really struggling to understand how some Pokémon are stronger or weaker than others based on the information given in the game and in Pokémon in general.

It makes team building pretty difficult because I don’t really know where to find information on things like move priority, base stats, and how Pokémon compare to each other. Maybe it’s explained somewhere in the game and I just missed it, but so far I’ve mostly come across Smogon and Pokédex websites.

My question is: how can you tell whether Entei is stronger or weaker than Charizard if you’re looking for a Fire-type attacker and they can use some of the same moves? Can the same move perform better on one Pokémon than another, or is there usually very little difference?

Any help, guides, or tutorials would be appreciated.

In every build I’ve checked for Dragonit, people advised to take Extreme Speed as a go-to move. I have a lvl 65 Dragonite, max ATK and SPE EVs + dragon dance, and all it does is like 40% HP on the normal Pokémon’s that are 10lvls behind (Dresco town trainers)

What am I missing ? Should I just switch to Outrage / Dragon Claw?
