We are engaged!!! And Scrabble brought us together 🧡

I posted the board earlier this week, but took the post down because I wanted to wait to get some photos of my ring!

We got engaged and Scrabble is the reason for it!

It’s a lifesaver!
We play so many games a week — sometimes four a day — and my fiancé Ben is scoring near expert level some games, with a notable 650 score just a few weeks ago.

I love Scrabble — it has brought us so close together.

My fiancé Ben would also like to shout-out Will Anderson. We used to play Scrabble as a hobby but our strategy has vastly improved since watching his YouTube Channel. He is truly a gift to the scrabble community.

This is gonna sound cheesy, but there’s nothing better than spending a Saturday playing scrabble then capping it off by watching Will Anderson game breakdowns on YouTube.

Should I restrict my tweens from watching Lizzy Savetsky? (TW: anorexia, eating disorder insinuation)

I’m a 45yo mother to two tweeens — and one of them just discovered Lizzy on Instagram.

I am a diehard Zionist, but I have been increasingly uncomfortable with the way Lizzy Savetsky’s videos and selfies present her life, particularly the combination of Botox and an extremely thin aesthetic.

She looks GAUNT.

I’m not here to body shame, but I used to have anorexia and even I wasn’t as skinny as Lizzy. You can see her collar bones and sternum just like Ariana Grande, but nobody wants to talk about it.

So my kids are already predisposed to eating issues.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with Botox or with being thin, but my kiddo is looking up to her as the epitome of a successful Jewish woman activist. She is arguably one of the most visible women in Jewish activism — millions of views every day. I just don’t know if I’m overreacting.

Anyone else thought about it this?

What do you think of this? (Feedback requested)

Idk I just feel like my ring isn’t the best. It wasn’t too expensive and now I’m paranoid that everyone can tell we (boyfriend and I) cheaped out. What’s your first thought when you see my ring?

I’m thinking of getting asking him for a new ring.

Was diagnosed with with EF of 32 after anorexia.

Does that mean my heart is in failure? I can’t afford to see a cardiologist to interpret the echocardiogram notes.

After starving for 3 years, I learned my heart rate (EF) put it in failure.

This was 2 years ago. Should I still need to see a cardiologist?

Thoughts on this ring?

I want a cheap engagement ring and this seems to look nice. Thoughts?

Yes I know it’s not diamond, I don’t want diamond. I would rather my partner put money for an expensive ring into our house fund.

Advice: I love this ring style, the price is right. But will I hate it in 10 years?

Asking because of the unique shape. It’s supposed to look like a lotus.

Is it possible to have purely delusional schizophrenia? (Absurd negative thoughts)

Hi, I’m 29F with a diagnosed history of CPTSD and anxiety.

I recently tried an antipsychotic for sleep, and it completely turned off my “anxiety voices” that are completely delusional.

I have been tormented for years by LOUD and PAINFUL thoughts I cannot control related to absurd situations: for example, there’s a voice in my head that tells me constantly that I have dementia, heart disease and am going to die homeless even though that makes absolutely no sense given my good health, good finances and strong memory. The thoughts are so loud and uncontrollable they often make me hurt myself and scare me to my core. But I do not have any hallucinations. Just what I hear in my head.

That said, I took Abilify and now the anxiety thoughts are gone. No more irrational thoughts, no painful delusional thoughts.

Am I crazy or is it possible I might be schizo spectrum or something?

My dr doesn’t diagnose bipolar or schizophrenia and doesn’t think I have it — but I haven’t been honest about how truly crippling my “anxiety thoughts” (which are like 90% delusional) are.

Would love to know people’s thoughts. Thanks.

He knows I want to get married and always says he’ll do it “after” some sort of milestone: such as “making enough money” “after I graduate grad school” “after I finish rehab” (he had a brief drug issue last year).

I have been waiting for a proposal since last Spring, but he’s flaked.

He just keeps flaking.

We’ve lived together for 6 years… I love him. He gets all the benefits of marriage except no commitment. I almost feel like I don’t want to get married to him anymore because of how many times I’ve seen him promise to marry me on X date and then flake.

Please help.

I feel like a fool because I am so hopelessly in love with this man who just keeps kicking the can down the road
