Service Closure Countdown??

Service Closure Countdown??

Hi all!

I'm really hoping someone can help me here, this banner has popped up and my daughter is absolutely devastated.

Does this mean the game is shutting down or is it just server downtime for maintenance?

Apologies, I don't play myself and ND 8yo is in floods of tears as it's her favourite game.

I tried googling it but didn't find anything concrete about the game closing but did find that one of their artists quit over use of AI (which is fair).

Thank you so much!!

RM Workers - are you guys ok? Has something gone on that us civies are unaware of?

Hi guys!

I'm just reaching out to make sure you're all ok as it seems something is going on behind the scenes.

This is in absolutely no way a dig at you, you're doing a brutal job and doing it fantastically!

All of the people I've spoken to who live near me (central Kent) have had issues last week and this week with their post getting stuck at mail centers or lost. My medication (tracked 24) has been at Medway Mail Centre for over 24h now, I've got plenty so I'm in no rush and not mad. It's normally only at the MC for a couple of hours before being sent to my local DO.

Has something happened? Have a bunch of you quit or are you just having an unexpectedly busy patch?

Sending love, and thank you again!

England - Landlord of Property Next Door Has Requested My Doorbell Camera Footage of His Tenants - All Advice Greatly Appreciated!

EDIT:

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful (and conflicting 🤣) advice! I've played it safe and told LL that I'm not comfortable sharing the footage with a 3rd party but I've saved it and am willing to share it with the police and I'm happy to provide a written statement.

For those questioning my camera picking up footage outside of my property boundary, with our front doors so close together and only a very low wall between the front gardens, there is literally no way to keep it to only my property. When I installed it I told them they were welcome to review/request any footage relating to their side of the wall and they were very happy with the situation as it gave them extra security.

***********************************
ORIGINAL POST:

Hi all, I'd be incredibly grateful if someone could please give me some advice, or point me in the right direction, regarding sharing doorbell camera footage.

The Background

I live in a terrace house (No. 7) and the house next door (No. 9) is rented. I live in a busy town centre so have a doorbell camera installed as security for my property and to allow me to remotely answer my front door. The camera is set up so recording is triggered as soon as someone steps onto the ~3m path, leading through my front garden, from the busy street to my front door. As No. 9's front door and path are immediately adjacent to mine, and there is only a very low wall separating the properties, it also triggers recording when anyone crosses their property boundary.

The Problem

I've been in regular contact recently with the owner/landlord (LL) of No. 9, due to a rear garden fence issue we're working on together, and he asked if I knew whether or not his tenants were on holiday as he needs to speak to them about the fence work and they haven't replied to his messages for a few weeks.

The tenants of No. 9 are very friendly in passing and are excellent neighbours but I don't know them and, having just got back from holiday myself, I had absolutely no idea if they were on holiday or not, which I explained to LL.

I had a look back through my doorbell footage to see if they had in fact gone on holiday, with the intention that if they had I would keep an eye out for anything suspicious at the property. I was expecting to see them leaving with a few suitcases to go on holiday, what I actually saw was them park 2 large vans in front of the house and pack all of their belongings, furniture and white goods included, into them before driving off and not returning. I told LL that it looks as though they've moved out and not told him and he has requested copies of my video footage.

The Question

Are there any legal implications for me if I were to share the footage with LL? I have no personal issue with supplying him with the footage but I don't want to end up in hot water over it.

I've had a read about re the laws surrounding private CCTV and my thoughts are that as the people in the footage are not on my property, have not consented to their data being shared, and are not conducting any activities which could be considered as falling within the intended purpose of the camera, I would be breaching GDPR and the DPA by sharing it with a 3rd party.

Is this correct? Does it change anything that the request has come from the owner of the property? He has requested the footage so he can use it as evidence of them abandoning the property and obtain a possession order.

Please help give me some perspective: husband went to bed & I wasn't tired so stayed up for a few hours and drank 2 beers whilst hobbying & watching TV - is this normal?

Hi all, I'm really hoping you can give me some perspective here.

My husband and I almost always go to bed at the same time, the only times we don't is when I'm tired and go to bed earlier than usual and he stays up for a while.

Last night (Saturday night) he went to bed at our usual Saturday bedtime of about 11:30. I didn't really feel like going to bed so I stayed up cross-stitching and watching TV and slowly drank 2 beers whilst doing so. I was engrossed in my sewing and show and not paying attention to the time so when I looked at the clock and realised it was 3:30 I grabbed some blankets and slept on the sofa, not wanting to disturb my husband.

Is this a normal thing that normal people do occasionally? Husband thinks it isn't, I think it is. This isn't an argument between us, we aren't fighting about it, I'm just curious as to other people's perspectives.

Background:-

We have 2 young children (7 & 4) and both work full time. I WFH in a very mentally demanding role, husband works fully on site in a very physically demanding role.

I have (diagnosed) ADHD, often have difficulty switching off and unwinding, and my work has been very stressful the last few weeks.

Staying up after my husband has gone to bed happens so infrequently I can't remember the last time, probably a few years ago at a guess.

I spent all of yesterday rearranging the kitchen - scrubbing cupboards, clearing out junk and swapping stuff about to make better use of the limited space. By the time the kids were finally in bed and we'd had dinner it was 9:30, we had a couple of beers together on the sofa whilst he played video games and I listened to a podcast and did some sewing.

I'm a light sleeper and my husband snores and fidgets a lot in his sleep. When it's particularly bad or disturbing my sleep too much I move to the sofa and sleep there. We don't have a spare bed/bedroom and our sofa is very comfortable to sleep on for me, my husband is taller than me and the sofa is less comfortable to sleep on for him so I take the sofa rather than kicking him out of bed, this happens maybe once every couple of months. Our dog loves it, he's not allowed in our bedroom but when I'm on the sofa he gets to spend the night cuddled up with me.

Where to go from here? Trying to get an assessment for my 7yo

I just received the below email and have no idea what to do now. Anyone got any suggestions?

Background - child is 7, has been on NHS waiting list for ADHD assessment for 2 years and right to choose with Psicon - the only private provider covered for child diagnosis in my ICB - for 12 months. We were expecting her assessment to be within the next month and then I get this...

🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Good afternoon,

We are writing to provide an important update regarding your NHS Right to Choose referral.

As we have shared previously, NHS England has introduced Indicative Activity Plans (IAPs) across Integrated Care Boards (ICBs). These IAPs help manage current demand and ensure ICBs meet their statutory duty to operate within their allocated budget. Kent and Medway NHS Integrated Care Board is therefore working with all providers offering assessments under NHS Right to Choose, including Psicon, to agree;

- The number of assessments/appointments we can offer during 2026/27

- The budget within which we must deliver the assessments/appointments

- The waiting times for the service

- Priority criteria to ensure those on the waiting list with the greatest need are seen soonest.

IAPs apply to all adult and children’s autism and ADHD services. The ICB wishes to ensure that those with the greatest clinical need are seen first and that the funding available is spent on supporting those who need it most.

Unfortunately, this means we are not currently able to progress all routine NHS Right to Choose Autism or ADHD assessments for patients on our waiting list in Kent and Medway. Your referral will therefore remain on hold, with your place in the queue protected, under the current commissioning arrangements. Based on the information currently available to us, routine assessment activity is not expected to resume before April 2027.

We recognise how disappointing and frustrating this news will be, particularly for those who have already been waiting for an assessment. We are very sorry that we are unable to progress your referral at this time.

Psicon remains committed to working collaboratively with Kent and Medway NHS Integrated Care Board and NHS England. We will continue to review opportunities to maximise assessment capacity within the agreed commissioning arrangements and will keep patients informed of any future changes. As soon as we are able to carry out your assessment, we will be in touch to arrange your appointment.

If your circumstances change, or you have concerns about your/your child’s wellbeing while waiting, we would encourage you to contact your GP or local NHS services, who are best placed to assess any changes in clinical need and provide appropriate support.

Further information and ongoing updates are available on our website here.

Kind regards,

Dr Daniel Simmonds

I designed a t-shirt for my husband based on something he mentioned 5 years ago...

About 5 years ago my husband mentioned how much he'd love to have a t-shirt with the Games Workshop logo that said Gardeners' World instead - for those not in the UK, it's a very popular and long-running gardening TV show aired on BBC 2. I designed the logo myself and printed it onto iron-on transfer paper.

I had to learn how to use GIMP (shout out to r/GIMP for having the answers to all of my questions!) and it took foooookin hours to get the design right but I'm super pleased with how it turned out 🥰. My husband has no idea I've been working on it and I hope he'll be just as pleased as I am when I give it to him for fathers' day on Sunday.

If he really likes it I'll send the file to a professional printing company to make another one as I can't see the iron-on transfer lasting very long, I would be incredibly grateful if anyone has any advice for extending longevity tho!

Edit: HE LOVED IT!!!! Pic in the comments

Called 111 and got straight through!

My 7yo has woken up with a rash and I'm concerned it might be scarlet fever and she needs antibiotics.

I just called 111, got straight through and a clinician is going to call me back within 2 hours!

Having 2 small children, who always seem to develop new and interesting ways to be ill at the weekend, I've called many times before so was fully prepared to spend the next hour listening to terrible, crackly hold music but NOT TODAY!

I know it's popular to slate the NHS but this is top notch service.

Thank you to everyone who works for the NHS - if you're a cleaner, admin, nurse, consultant, accountant, call handler or any other job! - you're so important and I'm truly grateful for everything you're doing to keep this ship sailing ❤️

Found in garden in UK - ball bearing next to a weird red and white broken plastic thing

Any idea what they are, or even if they're part of the same thing?

I found them next to each other on the lawn of my town centre back garden in southern England
