"Cattle rancher's creek runs dry due to fracking operation nearby" We do not want this in Nova Scotia. The conservatives lifted the province's decade-long fracking moratorium, and this is what's coming next if we don't stop it.
Windsor, Amherst, and Pictou are potential areas where this could happen.
Anyone have friends or family there? What do they think?
"Drinking wells drop," Drew writes. "They say the rain isn't enough to make up for how much has been lost from the aquifers — the deep underground natural reservoirs that feed those wells."

theglobeandmail.comOne of Nova Scotia's largest rooftop solar installations ever was completed a few weeks ago at the Sackville Community Arena. It will reduce energy costs in the building by 85%
This is the kind of project I think we need more of in Nova Scotia.
1,060 solar panels.
Lower power bills, more money can go back into the facility. That's good for the community. And a practical way to make public buildings less expensive to operate over the long term.
A good example for other schools, community centres, businesses, and warehouses across Canada. If more buildings can generate some of their own power, it helps reduce demand on the grid and makes communities a little more resilient when energy prices rise.
Am I alone in being excited to see this?

We already know her answer
Albertans deserve leadership that works for the people, not for political friends and insiders.

Hey folks.
Some of you might remember I did an AMA in early April. It was super fun:

So much fun I've decided to do another one tmrw at 10AM, Tuesday May 5th. Thanks to the mods for clearing a second round.
Quick refresher for anyone new: I'm the proponent behind Water Not Coal - a Citizen Initiative Petition with Elections Alberta to stop coal mining in the Eastern Slopes of the Rockies where we get our water. Premier Smith once again said that if we hit our number, this goes on the October 19 referendum.
When I’m not fighting big foreign coal companies and stupid government decisions, I also play music. I'm back from my European Tour and hitting the road around the Province this week (and May Long) on the coal campaign trail. We're finalizing the details so please check back and come say hi and sign in person: https://waternotcoal.ca/corbevents
People keep asking how the campaign is going and the answer is it's going very well but we want it to go even better and finish this thing decisively. We're in the last quarter of the ball game with 5 weeks to go.
The main thing we’re still hearing on the ground is that some people still haven't heard of our petition - that's where you come in. If this matters to you, PLEASE find one of our canvassers and sign the petition in person and ask 5 or 10 friends to do the same. You can find where to sign at https://waternotcoal.ca/sign-the-petition but you MUST sign in person - online isn't an option as per Elections Alberta rules.
We don't have a big budget and there is a lot going on in the world but people like you talking to other people in your circles can really make a difference.
We're the only Petition in town as of yesterday.
Ask Me Anything, especially about coal.
