Am I crazy or is EDHREC's combo section a bit of a joke?

I was looking at one of my deck's bracket on Archidekt and wondering why it said B4. It said I had multiple 2-card combos. I go and check them more in detail and they all say there's one or more prerequisites.

Like putrid goblin and goblin bombardment as a B4 combo... but then it shows you need a way to add +1/+1 counters... so a 3 card combo.

I got curious and started digging and there's so many bad "combos" and so many decks are getting ranked B4 because they see two cards and class them as a 2 card combo despite the missing piece.

Is this an issue they're working on?

My pet peeve with UB

I've got a real pet peeve about UB and it's not the power, frequency or anything with a real impact on the game.

It's having 7+ versions of the same damn character with 7 different fucking color identities.

Freaking Gandalf the white, the blue, the izzet, the jeskai the red, the...

Ever heard of Bilbo the Abzan? Meet Bilbo the mono fucking blue.

Tifa? Mono green, oh wait Naya. Who the fuck cares about color identity and its meaning.

It seriously irks my 16 y/o custom magic creator self that I spent hours doing research and debating online what character's colors would be just for WOTC to say fuck you and give us all the skittles in the rainbow.

Spider-man is Azorius? Gee I wonder how people will react to him not being Izzet, oh wait nevermind here comes Izzet Spider-man anyway!

I can excuse dumb shit like Reed Richards being 4 colors because it's obviously meant to allow you to build with all these guys in the deck and at the helm, but then they see the Final Fantasy 9 crew and they say fuck it all different incoherent colors with no link between them! Just use fucking Jodah you peasant!

And why the fuck do we get a Boros Black Widow and then a mono black one.

I get it, it's at a different time in their career and blablabla but the card doesn't show any fucking differences!

Can't wait for the comments who think I'm genuinely angry about this and not doing a bit.

"T'challah not having black but he's the black panther durr hurr" EXCEPT ABZAN WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT ACTUALLY. Wakanda is prideful as fuck and they reverre their ancestors just as much come on Wizards stop being fucking Cowards and give us some good-aligned black pips ffs.

Interaction (or lack thereof) makes your games swingy and there's no real way to fix it other than talk to your pod.

Maldhound made a very good point in one of his shorts recently and many people in my pod have seemingly been taken by surprise by that point so I'm sharing it here. I don't always agree with the angrybowwow, but I will give him this point with great support. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/W394w67yelg

I see this all the time. One player sits down playing *insert aggro deck here* and then other players sit down to play with their *insert midrange decks here*

One thing these players don't know is that the first player's only piece of interaction is Chaos Warp and he called it a day. Everything else is a mix of Roaming Throne doubling effects and synergy hell.

Every game where the first player isn't beaten into the ground immediately he will win. The other players are annoyed because they feel like he's winning too fast and too easily, but since he knows that a single boardwipe will end his game he's always on edge and feels like his deck is proper for the bracket because it's so easy to stop.

This leads to games that are entirely decided by "did one player draw a boardwipe within the 5 first turns" in a social environment where boardwipes aren't well liked and therefore less commonly slotted into decks.

Again, most of you here probably understand this, but seeing my pod's reaction to this lead me to believe it was worth discussing here. A friend plays Myrel, Shield of Argive and often gets accused of pubstomping and it took this video to get him to understand the problem.

It's possible to play aggro without being unmade by a single boardwipe, but most players seem to have to feeling like they need to double down on synergies and doublers and more and more gas... instead of adding cards that protect their boards, or remove shit that stops them in their tracks. Instead of adding yet another +2/+2 anthem, maybe add a removal that will get rid of the Propaganda stopping you from attacking.

"You need to kill me/my board or else I'm winning next turn" is fine in theory, but when that's the feeling every game after 4 turns it's no surprises people get sick and tired.

Pro series Ii 850 keeps overheating after being cleaned.

So, long story short we got mice in the garage and they made a nest in the pit, fun.

Wife decided to clean the BBQ while I was at work. She didnt put water or soap in the bbq but she did on the deflector and grates.

We tried a rust removal trick with vinegar after it rusted. Worked well. Brushed, then oiled.

I removed all the pellets, because they stayed in the pit the whole winter and obviously had some humidity.

I tried a burnoff friday and it went to 350 while I set it at 225. I then tried the 0-400 wings I saw and the pit got to 450 while I was taking care of kiddos. Burnt wings but the ones off-center were fine. (Essential info right there)

So now I'm wondering if it's just bad luck, pellets, pit, or maybe the motherboard?

Would love to hear you guys' experience or thoughts.

Currently on break at work so I can't get pics.

Trying to find nibs for my wife's pen.

My wife has been trying to figure out what kind of pen this is since she received it as a gift. It works on her Galaxy Tab s9. We want to find more nibs

The original nib had a silicone(?) Tip and now it's rubbed off and is scratchy on the tablet.

She says she liked the silicone tip because it would stabiloze the line.

She doesn't use reddit but after looking so much and for so long she asked me so here I am.

Favorite Character that's done very differently from their usual stories, but is executed very well so you don't mind.

My current favorite is Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) from My Adventures with Superman.

The way she talks, her energy, trauma, and overall interactions with the cast is just really fun to watch. It might not be the supergirl I grew up with but it's so well executed that I really don't mind.

Why is the price of so many "lower staples" increasing so much recently?

Let's preface this by saying that I have nothing against proxies, I use them all the time, this isn't the convo for that.

I've noticed recently that a lot of cards that are considered staples, but not the crazy expensive ones, have started increasing massively in price.

Cards like Prismatic Vista, Ashnod's altar, Three Visits, and the likes. Even stuff like Guardian Project, Growing Rites of Itlimoc. I'm not naming these so you open a market history, I'm mentionning them to give you an idea of the "power level" of the cards I'm talking about.

Stuff like Deflecting Swat, Jeska's Will, The Great Henge, sure... we expect them to be stupidly expensive.

But I was looking at buying a few cards to complete a deck, and holy crap. One friend says he's been utterly priced out of upgrading decks, but from what I'm seeing it's strictly the Bracket 3 "good cards everyone kinda needs/wants"

But is it JUST supply and demand, or did I miss something that happened?

(Hated trope) Super strong character gets introduced just in time to be defeated by the antagonist to make it clear the antagonist is strong (and sometimes to give a power up)

1st - My Hero Academia - Stars and Stripes was many people's jump the shark moment. A character so unfatomably powerful that the story needs to come up with bs just for her to lose. The story goes from punching real hard to the antagonist surviving multiple nukes. The moment she was introduced it was clear she would lose.

2nd - Jungle Juice - Propolis 1st Seat finally corners the Breeder but it's obvious despite him outmatching the minions that he'll die when the antagonist's backstory starts being shown. After being hyped so much he turns into food to conveniently strenghten the antagonists.

Your kid's inability to behave because of your stupid ass "gentle parenting" doesn't mean I need to deprive my own kid.

Coming back from the park, felt pretty annoyed by an interaction I had and needed to rant.

I've seen way too much people talk about Gentle Parenting. It's everywhere. At my workplace people constantly talk about it. When I discipline my kid I get told to look up Gentle Parenting.

It's equivalent to a buzzword now to me, and what that buzzword means is "you teaching you kid correctly makes us feel bad about our own lack of efforts". And before the cheap seats start freaking out, my kids get all the things you get from Gentle Parenting. Hugs, validation, affirmations of love, positive reinforcements, etc. Except when they intentionally disobey we don't pretend like they're fully functionning adults just trying to be good, we treat them as the little boundary-pushing shits that they are. They WILL test us to and try to find us wanting, but we will not let it happen.

When I go to the groceries, the mall, the doctor's, etc I'm frequently told how well behaved my kids are, how nice, smiling, quiet, etc they are. How polite they are when they want to play. They can be absolutely menaces on a bad day, but that's normal, they're kids. But then I have absoltuely morons come up to me and tell me that it's okay if they misbehave. My oldest went to a old lady and asked for a candy, I caught up to her, told her no that's not a thing you can just do, and the lady's saying "it's okay, I don't mind" as if encouraging that kind of behavior is ok.

Fucken hell people. Anyway, back on topic. We were playing at the park. There's a kind of slide where it's a cart and a slope, and it's one person at a time. The kid sits in the cart, then slides down, and then we pull it back up and let the next kid go. It's super fun for them and many get addicted.

Kiddo (My oldest, 5 y/o), two other kids we don't know, and Entitled Little Shit (ELS) are playing. ELS came in a bit late and he starts pushing another kid that I later learn was his sister. ELS's dad is there and he does nothing.

Kiddo's turn, she slides down and then ELS pushes his sister out of the way and claims it's his turn. ELS's dad says it's not. ELS still gets on the cart and goes while the dad does nothing. Dad tells him "this is your last warning" (hint: It wasn't).

They each go about 7 different times, but ELS keeps pushing the other kids out of the way to go while the dad keeps telling him that it's his final warning. The sister ends up giving up and leaving. Kiddo seems disappointed because they were playing well together before.

ELS decides to push Kiddo out and claims it's his turn. I stabilize Kiddo then hold the cart in place. I ask my daughter "It's your turn, right?" and she confirms. I keep holding the cart. "Get out, you know it's not your turn." the dad looks at me like he's begging me to just let it go. I don't.

I don't want to touch the kid because that would escalate stuff really fast, so I look at the dad while telling Kiddo "It's important to follow the rules, right Kiddo?". She's a trooper so she just says yes and holds her ground.

Eventually, the dad mans up and grabs his kid, lifting him saying "this was your final warning" and ELS starts biting the dad in the shoulder while wacking him with his fists and kicks. I almost feel pity for the dad, but honestly can't muster anything genuine. I don't know, nor do I care, if the kid's on the spectrum or something, but those parents are absolutely failing that kid.

"But where the fuck does Gentle Parenting come in?" you might be wondering. Well I'm telling my wife what happened, and she was on the other side of the park with our youngests talking to other moms and she heard the kid's mom talking about ELS and how they're teaching him to be kind with Gentle Parenting.

Those parents were proudly telling everyone that would listen that they're doing Gentle Parenting, breaking generational trauma, etc... while letting their ELS bully his sister, and misbehave without consequences.

When he was leaving, the dad was glaring at me like I'd shit in his cereals. Kiddo went down the cart a few more times, then other kids came in and she offered her spot and went to play elsewhere. Love that kid.

Scanners, antimalwares, etc feel like they're just trying to get me to subscribe to more stuff. Dunno what to do.

Woke up to multiple alerts that I'd "gifted" 4 Rust packs to random steam accounts despite never getting any log in alerts or anything, so I looked around, did the usual verifications and security checks. Updated passwords, ran Window Defenders , removed all devices' access, and made sure I'm being proactive.

I saw in a thread by Steam Support to run Malwarebytes, so I do. Free version tells me I have 64 breaches... ok that's an issue. Standard year long protection isn't too pricey, let's check that.

Run scan again, now it's an even bigger number and they want me to upgrade to get a VPN, and to buy another subscription that will somehow protect my identity online... and now I feel like I'm watching a youtuber reading an add.

Malwarebytes hasn't done anything as of now, but it wants me to buy two more things... I know it's generally well trusted but holy crap this feels like a blatant ripoff.

Hi guys, fairly new to this and I've already googled to my heart's content and found a lot of answers to my questions except this one that I can't seem to fix.

I've installed Joiplay and it works fine, but there's a fangame called Pokemon Z that works great, except that I can't seem to figure out how to remap the keybinds.

When I hold the icon and get the options in Joiplay, it gives me the option to, and I select the buttons I want to remap, but unlike with other emulators and games, this one doesn't allow me to choose the buttons from the controller, only keyboard.

It'll show "Button X" and instead of "hold to remap" it gives me choices between 1-10, A-Z, and F1-F12.

Any suggestions? I might be using the wrong terms, but I couldn't find this specific issue being discussed.
