Hi guys,

so i have been working on the cases of my conlang among other things because i like flexible word order, and i saw Schleicher’s fable on wikipedia and decided to translate it into my (latin-germanic inslired) conlang. My question is, how english-y is the translation from the vocab and glossing, and how to avoid being too much like english? What do you think of the glossing/grammar from this? the vocab is subject to constant change, and some forming of words are yet to be made into a rule, but so far i have this:

English:

The Sheep and the Horses

A sheep that had no wool saw horses, one of them pulling a heavy wagon, one

carrying a big load, and one carrying a man quickly. The sheep said to the horses:

‘My heart pains me, seeing a man driving horses’. The horses said: ‘Listen, sheep,

our hearts pain us when we see this: a man, the master, makes the wool of the

sheep into a warm garment for himself. And the sheep has no wool’. Having heard

this, the sheep ed into the plain.

My conlang:

Le Savus et līe equisī

Une savus, qun habea-ne vollis, vidiea equissī: un sisēnē drehea un grava vāgemis, un trāgea un zvita lādemnis, et un traēgea une mannis velocāriv.

Le savus equisin lemea: "Moj jerte es trau, oble une mann equissī lanfāhre."

Līe equisī lemēa: "Audit, savus, sivimā jerteī estē trau quwe vidiē: une mann, les maister, lage un wœrme klēmeis esāin volleq savuses. Et le savus hab-ne vollis."

Le savus auditea āllis et surrea in le feldut.

so thats basically tldr. It is a school-trip and i heard that many other schools here in hungary had similar opportunities. It is a university and factory visiting trip of some sorts. My gf isnt really into tech but went anyway with her girl friends. It was around 2000 usd which was too expensive for me.

I am a bit scared for her. Not because i dont trust the organisers or the teachers, but... its far from me. We dowloaded wechat that in theory works from there but still it is unconfortable. I did not want her to miss the opportunity as the trip is cheap compared to normal vacations. she will be around her friends who i trust, i can message them too if needed
