It was my 18th birthday yesterday. I wanted a quiet night and did not invite any of my frnds as I was feeling a bit disconnected lately. They surprised me around 7pm. I was genuinely glad to see them. We clicked photos and had a great time. My parents invited them to dinner at a restaurant. The bill went around 5000 rupees. A bit costly but my parents didn't mind. I went home and opened up the gifts they had brought.

One of them was a child bracelet with beads that you get for 20 rs in the market. A black evil eye bracelet worth 10rs. A cheap necklace that breaks the 1st time you wear. A bouquet that was of plastic flowers that you put in the vase.

This was what they had collectively gifted as a group of 5 people.

I might sound ungrateful but I am not. They are not poor and a little weak financially. They spend absurd amount of money on trinkets. That they dont even need.

I feel bad that I am feeling this way but I dont know how to react anymore. Pls help

Me and my childhood friend were watching XO kitty which basically deals with the girl having relevation about her likes and much more. We reached to the one part where the girl kisses another girl. My mom walked in at that point and we were watching on living room tv. The show is UA 16+ and we are well adults. My mom flipped off and asked what kind of thing are you watching...I said it comes in sometimes and stuff...I think my mom would have been less mad if it was a boy and a girl but she has absolutely lost it after knowing...I hang with my friend most of the time bcz we are best friends and have been for our entire life but now I feel my mom got some wrong idea and now she is restricting me to spend time with her much.

I dont know how to deal with this, pls help

My sister got married a few months back and we knew just a few days after her wedding that her husband is impotent. She was okay with sacrificing her own sexual needs to stay with him as he seemed like a good person. A couple of months after the wedding her in-laws started pressuring or indirectly wishing they have grandchildren. She deflected as long as possible. ​Now she find out that her husband's relatives have started speculating why she is not pregnant even if she got married just a few months back. She asked her husband to atleast tell his parents about the situation so that they do not blame her for not having children. But her husband finds it too embarrassing and refuses. Now my sister is stuck being treated as if she is infertile and getting very bad comments about her. She is also re thinking about the whole sacrificing her sexual needs thing for a man who does not care what she has to suffer and not even supporting her in deflecting such comments. Pls suggest what to do?

EDIT: when I posted earlier but It got removed a few comments that were there mentioned about seeking a doctor which according to my sister, my bil had taken many products but they were off the internet and when asked to go the doctor, he refused for probably the same reason he refuses to tell his parents..

I was recently boarding a train at eksar metro station. For a 40 rs ticket, I gave 50rs. They told they dont have change. I was shocked to hear that a public enterprises that deal with tickets all day dont have cash. She insisted we do tickets through WhatsApp upi. It was not about 10 rupees. It was about the fact that a public transportation so widely used shoulf have change because not everyone has upi and they cant assume that everyone has a phone, has whatsapp and has upi. Children, senior citizen, everyone use metro. It has happened over and over again and I finally cracked and called the complaint number. I dont know why they do this but I am seriously fed up. What are your thoughts about this.

I am a 18 year old girl currently starting college in September and I have always stayed submissive. My parents dont care about my freedom, my choices etc. Everything is according to them. This time when my relatives came to my house, they gave me money, instead of putting it in a pouch which contains all the money I have recieved since my childhood..I put it in a safe place so that I can use some of it to my will. Money is very much tied to my freedom. Whenever, once in a while I yearn to go meet my friends or something I have to be dependent on my parents. Face heavy lashing and in the end cry myself to sleep. Its not like I dont have money in my family. They just don't want to give to me. Today, when I tried to take some of my own money to go meet my friends in a mall. My parents immediately started backlashing and said why do you spend so much money. For context, I am meeting this friend after a month and the only money I needed was 40 rs for the metro ride. Constant supervision and no freedom makes me do something to myself. I wanted a uni away from my home as it was the only way to leave this place. Unfortunately I got a uni close to me and its the best so cant leave it. I dont know what question I am supposed to be asking but if anyone was ever in such a situation. Pls tell me what you did.

I know in ranking wise, glc comes first but here are the few things about glc that is disturbing me and I need your opinion.

Glc does not really have a campus so campus life is not that great. Also, I have heard that they do not really teach that much and you have to self study which is fine by me but in a new career like law, a little help would not be unwelcome. Ils have a proper campus which means holistic development and they have mandatory lectures and attendance...so helps with everything ig. I am 1st generation lawyer with no connections at all and a place to develop is necessary for me.

Still internships and placement matter and hence I am so confused of what to choose.

I would request you to give me your opinion.

I can get dsnlu in vacancy list and want to ask the ground reality of placements in dsnlu. I am a 1st generation lawyer with zero connections and badly want to go to corporate. I am getting glc as I got good marks in mhcet exam. Pls help a fellow law aspirant.

I got 99.23 percentile ms student. I can gain admission in dsnlu/nlu kochi. But now since I can gain admission in ils...I am confused what to do. I am a 1st generation lawyer with no connections. I badly want to go to corporate law. I want to ask the ground reality of this college and its placements. If you can state any pros and cons, would be forever grateful. Would you suggest glc over ils?

I had made up my mind to go to an nlu and had applied for various vacancies. In worst situation ever, I get dsnlu or nlu kochi. And in mhcet I can get glc or ils.

But I strictly want to go to corporate, pls help me what to do and what to choose as I will be getting vacancy result tomorrow and will have to take admission.

I dont know how to say this... This is an incident I wanted to go meet my friend somewhere...I wanted to go to this place since so many months... I asked my mom for permission and she replied in a very hanging way...Its like go if you want to....I asked her to say in a definite matter and she said why will I ask you to spend money on dinner outside....Now this is where it hurts...I have never spent a single penny on me...All my money coming from my relatives is stored away for future...They have never spent much money on my education as I always got scholarships and stuff...I have not met my friend for months...I dont have any pocket money, never get any...Its not like they have a financial issue they just dont wanna spend on me...I dont even use 100 rupees a month...Don't know how to react...Should I defy and rebel?

It was my childhood dream to become a corporate lawyer. I was trying to find colleges with a good placement for the same reason. But my parents are against it. The reason? They say that corporate lawyer has to work for long hours and after I get married, I won't be able to handle work and household both. I am not even 18 currently and yet the implication of marriage is clear.

Further, they want me to have a government job as its easy for you to get married and have enough time too. Honestly, I dont ever want to work government job as the red tape and corruption is not something I am comfortable with.

I keep thinking is my life goal, a marriage, not my childhood dream. I keep postponing saying that there is a lot of time for that. But in reality, I feel disgusted as this wouldn't be a big problem if this was their son.

Seniors, I am thinking of joining nluo, though I have heard some bad stuff about it but ig no college can be perfect. I wanna do corporate only so wanna know about the placement situation. Also how is the location and campus, is it safe for girls? How is the hostel situation?

I am currently entering a phase where I want more autonomy and freedom. My parents have controlled me a lot and whenever I try to make my own decisions...my mom guilt trips me by saying stuff like I have done so much for you and as a person who feels empathy, I get quiet and suffer yet again...When I try to have friendly conversation too, she steers the conversation, comparing with others...I dont know what to do, I feel trapped...
