Picked up some IPPs last night and they seem quite skiddish and havent wanted food yet. How do y'all socialize your pigs and help them settle in? Set the kennel in their house last night with the gate open so they could come out when their ready and their being a bit shy.
Just picked these out of my 5th flush, left them a few hours too long and a few spored, and now this is on them. Just mycelium or is it mold?
This girl is about 2 years old, and about 10 days ago I found her sitting in a dark covered corner of my yard not wanting to move. It was 100° so I assumed it was heat related and moved her inside. But after a day she still didnt want to move so I examined her and she has a limp but no visible injury and doesnt seem to be in pain when I move her legs. Ive just been letting her rest in the chicken hospital and noticed she also isnt laying eggs. Her abdomen doesnt seem swollen at all and if she was egg bound, wouldnt she be dead by now??? Shes started getting up the past 3 days and has a normal appetite and thirst. Any ideas?
5 days ago I noticed my Pioneer Meat Chicken had a small limp, I checked on it and he had a small cut on his toe pad so I cleaned him up and let him back out since it wasnt bleeding or anything. Over the last 5 days its slowly started to move less and less and looks visibly smaller than the other Pioneers so I took it inside since its been getting pooped on from not moving. It looks like its foot is all healed but hes just not moving much at all. I have him isolated from the rest and ive lost 2 chickens this week from the heat (been 95° all week) do you think this is heat related or could he be sick?
Now that im looking closer, he also has a hard lump right behind his ear on the right side of his head.
I got 750g wet when I pulled my first flush from my northspore bin. Is this a good amount or could I get more out of it? Picture of the perfect little mushie.
Im a new grower, and put this batch in fruiting a week ago, this corner hasnt really grew much and this morning seems to be turning blueish green in some areas. The rest of the bin seems to be developing fine. What would yall do?

This chicken, Goldie Locks, went broody so I gave her 8 eggs. 2 wernt fertilized at the 7 day mark, 3 died at the 14 day mark, and 2 failed to hatch fully at the 21 day mark. So she has her one and only chick, who my toddler has named Shadow. I guess weve gotta celebrate our wins.

I exclusively pumped up until my baby was 5 months old, then decided for my mental health, as I was exaused and short tempered with my husband and toddler, it was best to stop. I am a over producer (60oz a day) so I had enough milk stashed away to give them 3 bags a day till today, at 10 months old. He will now have formula until hes fully transitioned to food, of which he loves. His favorite foods so fair are wing tips, sweet potatoes, and broccoli. Im excited to see how he grows and changes! Time to dip from this group, until next time!
Hello all! So Ive been officially diagnosed since 2021 and was medicated until 2024. October of that year I moved to a different state with my partner, and almost immediately fell pregnant so I didnt seek a new psychiatrist until last month since im now dont breastfeeding and there wasnt a point to see one sooner since you know, cant have stimulants. Well I established a primary care doctor last month and had all my (extensive) psychiatrist records faxed to them. My primary said since its been 5 years since I was diagnosed that id have to be "reevaluated" according to their policy for stimulants. No biggie right? So I make a appointment and go to the new psychiatrist today and explain all my medical history and that I would like my Vyvanse back since I was on it for over a year and it worked great after trying maybe 8 diffrent meds before that.
Well..... she wouldnt give them to me. Said I had to completely restart nonstimulant protocol and get a full cardiologist work up before she would even consider giving me Vyvance since I have BDP on my paperwork, and according to her that must be whats truly wrong with me. I played her game and was as nice as I could muster, but I completely broke down when I got in my car. I dont have mania; my therapist, who specializes in women with ADHD, that ive seen for 7 consecutive years agrees while I do have some BDP symptoms, I dont have enough for an actual diagnosis but because a doctor put it on my chart when I was 16 they cant remove it.
I just want the medications that worked for me, I want to function at full capacity again. My children deserve a mother without soup for brains. I want to see about finding a different psychiatrist but I dont want to be labled as med seeking, so I feel like I have to take these nonstimulants, that ive already taken before that she can see clear as day on my chart, for who knows how long before I am given the privilege of a functioning brain again.
Eggs from my own chickens as picture tax!
I got my shipment of meat birds today, 2 of the 26 I ordered were weak and barely moving when they arrived. I held them under the heat lamp for 10 minutes and they started to perk up, so I gave them some electrolyte water and one started to chirp. I thankfully had one of my layers go broody a few days ago, so I slipped them under her, and she seemed to take on to them immediately! Started talking to them and cleaning their butts and now wont let me tough her. Ill check on them in a few hours to see if theyve perked up enough for me to put them back with the rest of my meat birds! Anything I should do further?
I innoculated this pre-made grower bag 10 days ago, and dont see any obvious signs of growth. Should I be concerned? Im keeping it is a 78° room out of direct sunlight (a closed closet). At what point do I assume the spores arnt taking?
