NX611 'Just Jane' Avro Lancaster
Went to the Props and Pistons event yesterday to see Just Jane. Been a few times before but it's always good to see. Hoping to have it airworthy by late 2028, which if successful would make it only the 3rd flying Lancaster Bomber in the world.

Is the VAG 1.2 TSI engine one of the best ever produced?
For context, I absolutely brimmed the tank on Friday last week. I managed to get 220miles before I lost a bar on the fuel gauge. Currently sitting on 450miles driven, with range showing 215 miles left at half a tank indicated. So in theory 665miles to a tank of supermarket unleaded in a wanky 12yr old Seat Leon that costs £35 to tax! Who needs diesel?
Edit : Maybe should have been worded better... How about one of the most economical petrol engines ever produced? Yes it's not particularly fast or entertaining but around town is easily 52+mpg and on a run I've had over 61+mpg

Went to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon today, not been for a couple of years..
Largely the same as last time I went but nice to see a few new exhibits. The Forza Horizon 6 exhibition was new as was a 80's hot hatch exhibition. Saw the first production Mini and Land Rover. A pre production test mule for the Jaguar XK8 complete with Ford Escort rear lights and a quick look in the workshop

The National Motor Museum is leaving Beaulieu..
It's been announced that the National Motor will be moving from Beaulieu to an as yet unknown location when it's 60yr lease has ran out in 2032. I've been several times and it's a great day out. The location and setting just seems to work. It'll be a shame when it happens but I'm excited to see what they are going to do with the new location.

Got my wheels a few weeks ago. Bought some spanking new Pirelli P Zero Race TLR tyres. Taped the wheels to run them tubeless. Could not for the life of me get the sodding things onto the rim. Tried every trick in the book, broke 2 tyre levers and gave up in the end. Took them to 2 different shops and neither of them managed to get them on either.
Admitted defeat and bought the same tyres but the non TLR version and a couple of TPU tubes. Went on straight away by hand without even needing a tyre lever. Pumping them up they seated, but without the usual 'pop' of the bead seating. They are definitely on and seated correctly, but not 'hearing' the reassuring 'pop' has made me weary that they were a little baggy so to speak. From one extreme to the other. Anyone else experienced the same?
