Basically the title, there are a lot of books for a lot of editions (both D6 and D20 having "revised" editions threw me off for a bit) and im kinda lost. What do i need to run the game, what are the differences between the base edition and the revised edition (especially asking from newbie perspective, ive only run dnd oneshots and the players are new aswell), and which books would you recommend i read or get stuff from?

Ive read that the system also has books to get "the feel" of the galaxy. Which ones are that?

Is it a psychic implant? It seems the most unbelievable marine implant to me.

English is my third language, bear with me if the wording is odd, writing about feelings is hard enough in native language as is.

As a preface, although i wouldnt really say im lonely, i attained my friends fairly late, and right now they are all in different universities and such so we dont meet nearly half as much as i would want to. So ive barely accomplished a friendship step on a relationship ladder, which might explain the next part?

The next part being, whenever i imagine a romantic partner, its just being really good friends, meeting often, maybe even physical, but thought of things like: going on actual dates, buying elaborate gifts, meeting family members, living together, all fill me with dread.

Ive never had a crush on anyone, though it might be beacuse i have low self esteem and i mightve subconciously supressed the feeling ("to love another one must love oneself" and such). It might explain the previous part also? Like i might think on some level im unfit for relationships hence thought of being in one makes me anxious?

At the same time, im not sure it really works that way. People around me fell in love obviously hopeless and i never really understood that. Cant you just not fall in love with that person if theyre terrible/have a partner/you admitted yourself you wouldnt fit together?

The closest ive been to anything was finding a person of opposite sex very interesting, it turns out i just longed to be a friend with that person.

I want to feel loved but im not sure if its for romantic reasons or beacuse being capable of feeling loved would validate me as a person in some way. At the same time anytime i suspected someone might like me it was scary to say the least, which is apparently one of the signs of being aro but 1. I didnt feel anything for those people so i feel its understandable and 2. Isnt being anxious in romantic situations normal?

I have 4 Saturine termies to proxy as Centurions in my Sallies army, i cant play 4 centurions, what to do with the odd model? I dont want to use it as a dreadnaught/hellbrute beacuse it doesnt fit for me.

Is there a specific way to paint knights and men at arms other than "use these two colors from the dukedom crest"?

And i guess its entirely within the lore to make your own heraldly?

Otherworldy deserts of ash coming in many colours, isolated fields of volcanic grass, lakes of sulfury water as blue as a lagoon on a paradise world. Silvery seas of liquid metals (we already got that at least), volcanic ash creating fake snow, and lets not forget the polar regions which we have. I wonder if the sky looks as weird there too. Imagine snow reflecting reds and oranges.

And the sky would be really beautifull too, looking on fire, clouds of exotic elements and volcanic residue carried by strong winds, mixing together ash grey and orange.

Sunsets of weak sun that is Caldaster might sometimes turn said clouds more pinkish, and more spectacular moonsets of Prometheus, passing ever closer to the planet each year. And on the rare occasion the clouds clear people of Nocturne can see the red nebulae that surrounds the system.

Since the system is strong in radiation, there should be many strong polar lights aswell.

Basically am i wrong in imagining Nocturne as much more barren iceland? I think a un-unique volcanic world would be a bit boring, especially for Vulkan, one of the few primarchs who can really appreciate natural beauty.
