After 250 years Americans are still obsessed with hating the British, when will Americans move on?
We all now how much Americans hate the British, it's as old as ever. After 250 years of independence do you think it's now time for Americans to move on?
From hating their people, their accents, their culture, their food or just about anything about them.
Social media has taught me a lot about how much Americans hate the British and find some of it bizarre and very obsessive but don't you think it's time to.....idk move on?
Do you think Americans will ever move on?
Why do Americans hate British people and accents so much?
Social media is rampant with Anti British sentiment coming from Americans.
The things that Americans hate most about the British are
The accents (this seems to get them really angry)
the people (who they seem to really really hate)
and of course the food but why the other two?
"British? Scotland, Wales, or N. Ireland, you're tolerable. English? Nah, GTFOH with that redcoat bullshit"
"Quentin understands what I'm trying to argue, American films have been on the decline ever since British actors and other foreigners have been brought in as the leads in those films, and that it also corresponds to a dropping of the box office that was for some"
"Not bad for a third world country" & "Actually its much less safe for English children than American. We have the strongest military in the world and the best geography. No great power can reach us across vast oceans. But England barely has a military"
The ignorance is astonishing
"why do you care though your an american your supposed to hate the british thats like our whole thing"
"Well, because Americans hate British people. Ever heard of the Continental War of Independence—where French, Indigenous and American forces fought British regulars and German special forces for America’s God Given right to human rights?"
"Americans get to vote in American elections. Europeans get to vote in elections that don't matter to anyone. If you don't like what we decide you're welcome to apply for American citizenship or yell at the sky."
Should British people change their accents in America?
For safety reasons do you think it's a good idea?
"Talking like a Brit gets you beat up in America. Don’t do that shit in public it’s gross."
"like bro I'm American and I HATE THE BRITISH does that mean I'm gonna bitch about being called white just because I'm the kind of white who hates another kind of white? Stupid idiots"
Publication claims Reform UK 'plans to jail candidates' for using Cornish, Irish or Gaelic on election material
nation.cymru"I seriously despise the English on so many fronts. Screwed over my Irish ancestors. Screwed over my American ancestors. Fuck the English."
"My family didn't even immigrate to the United States until after the civil War from Italy. We still hate the British and zero respect for them after learning about the American revolution and watching them my entire adult life. Butter spitting limey rat bastards."
"Take a plane. Europoors come over here and tell us how to run things look at their continent so broke the can’t even afford AC"
"Love Flo Balogun, but let's get this guy a dialect coach USA's best player can't have a British accent"
"What's amazing is how British woman love our accent and fetishize it, at the same time American woman absolutely despise British accents on men. It shows you that they love our accents but American absolutely hate British accents 😅😅"
In one of those (almost certainly propaganda) videos around the world cup showing how great America is (this video is of a British woman going on about how great Americans are and how great their accents are). The comment section was full of the usual America is the greatest etc.. but this one comment caught my eye lol.
