If Google turned into Freemium would you still use them?

If Google turned their free products, like Google Search, Google Maps, Google Chrome etc, into a freemium model, locking features that were previously free behind a paywall, would you still use them or switch to competitors?

I missed the 18-day onboarding window, am I stuck to 500 MB?

I used to use Proton Drive and VPN only, however, I did not use Proton Mail. Now, I want to get away from Gmail but I missed the tasks window where we can earn 1 GB. I can't really stay with 500 MB, am I stuck to 500 MB unless I pay up?

Problem with IronFox Android

I have a few problems with IronFox on Android, I'm trying to switch to Gecko and both of these problems matter.

  1. Why does Brave Search have no icon when I added it to IronFox? All other search engines have but BS just doesn't?

  2. Why's the Plus Tab icon next to the address bar instead of next to the tab? Like in Chromium. This is destroying my muscle memory of homepages as tabs and Plus tab next to tabs.

  3. Why is there a permanent Mozilla Account tab right at the top of IronFox settings? Which privacy-focused Chromium browser has ever had accounts? I absolutely do not want this shit there.

These three problems are barriers of me switching to Firefox. Thanks in advance!

Which type of browser?

If you had to truly choose an engine, which would you choose? Ignore monopolies, ignore political stuff, not to use a specific engine. Just tell why you want to use an engine, actual customization, speed, extensions, or whatever. No, because Google will make a monopoly stuff.

Created an r/YouTubeMusicClients subreddit

People keep complaining on this sub about other clients annoying Metrolist users and devs since this sub is for Metrolist. I have created a new sub to discuss this. Users of ArchiveTune, Vivi Music, SimpMusic, Metrolist and other music clients all welcome in that sub

Which is actually better

Eclipse or QOLMod?

Eclipse has an overall larger team, but has extremely less features and still not very customizable or friendly especially on Android.

QOLMod has only one dev, Thesillydoggo, who also used to say QOLMod won't be maintained but he updated it for 2.2081. It overall, has way more features, proper search, favorites, good UI, and much better. But one problem that it takes a long time to open for the first time, though after opening it for the first time it's normally opening.

So idk which to use, I overall prefer more features but is Eclipse worth it?

Confused between Chromium and Gecko

I literally don't understand what to use. Brave has been my primary driver and Cromite my secondary driver for extensions for a long time (after leaving Kiwi and Edge for Cromite). But many users keep saying Firefox, Firefox, Firefox.

Those who switched from Chromium to Firefox how was the experience? How did you adjust yourself from chrome://settings to about:preferences and chrome://flags to about:config? How did you handle the sometimes broken sites? How did you handle the new "YouTube not working on Firefox"? And how's its performance especially on a poor device like a 4 GB RAM Android tablet? Long time Firefox users I want advice too.

Also I value security a lot. I would rather give up my security than have an entire privacy situation. Meaning I balance security with privacy. I currently disable JIT in Brave easily, is there something like that for Firefox too?

Also I don't use Google services a lot, very rarely so, fixing Google Search or others isn't required. I only use YouTube in the web occasionally.
