Visiting the Caribbean Section of the local Library 🇯🇲 is a must for me. I came across a few books. "Barrel Child" is a fun quick read. "Brown Girl in the Ring" is a bit more layered. "Krik!Krak?" Brilliant Writing. So sharing these with you. I hope to start a book club one day.

Do we have a culture of Gatekeeping and Not Sharing Great News? I see more comments about Jamaica being a hard place to survive and be successful but come on....

It might just be me but I believe there are a lot of success stories of thriving as a Jamaican in Jamaica. But we seem to share the negatives more. Where are the people who did it before us and made a better way and can share tips on how they did so? People are so quick to tell you when something negative happen but not enough on the great. & I am not just telling general info like work hard and the rewards will come. Share practical, useful, can be replicated or used as guidance tips on how to thrive, own assets, earn more, live healthier fuller lives and stop make it seem like it's all obstacles. Foreigners come here with little and nothing and gladly share their stories on how they did it. We need our people to be more gracious with wisdom, supportive of locals, wanting a better present not just for ourselves but each other. Tell us about investing, turning over money, tapping into resources, connections, innovation, science,, turning issues into solutions, owning assets, etc
