Ascend 10T reviews???

I'm picking one of these up used on marketplace for $500 CAD (350USD). Comes with a fish finder so it seemed like a good deal. Fish finder was originally $150 CAD. I see a lot of negative reviews on this kayak but they all seem to be about the inaccurate weight ratings. The label says 325lbs but supposedly it takes on water and becomes super unbalanced past 220lbs. Can anyone attest to this? I'm 6ft tall and 190lbs so I was thinking I'd probably still be okay. Other than that the reviews had no real negatives. Seems like a good budget option other than weight problems. Let me know your thoughts. Should I take the deal or wait for something else?

Does this classify as a jumbo?

I've started to really enjoy perch fishing. Caught a few this size recently is this kinda the typical perch or would you call it a jumbo?

Daiwa Presso Air AGS JDM

Thinking of picking up one of these rods alongside a Shimano Cardiff XR for trout & yellow perch fishing. Can anyone share insights about preferred length, action, and weight?

Or if you really think you have a better rod in mind for the same price, lmk.

Fenwick HMG Trout & Panfish

Anyone have experience with these rods? I'm considering picking up the 7'6" UL moderate fast or the 7'0" UL moderate. I saw a YouTube video claiming they were really good for the price. Can anyone attest? If so what length would you recommend?

Favorite action level for UL?

I have a medium action fenwick HMG trout panfish UL rod, and also a fast action TFO trout panfish rod. Personally I like the faster hooksets on the fast action - what's your preference for trout & panfish. Quicker hooksets? Or more rod bend for a more whippy fight?

Ultralight rod & reel suggestions?

Currently running a 7'3" Fenwick HMG trout medium action UL paired with Daiwa QR750. Looking for something probably faster action for quicker hooksets on those light bites. Ultimately whatever is fun to use though!

Best ultralight spinning rod for under $500?

Right now I'm rocking a Fenwick HMG trout series - 7ft ultralight medium fast action. Looking for something a bit more snappy and fun to use. Maybe a fast or extra fast action for quicker hookups?

Ultralight spinning rod & reel suggestions.

Anyone have any favorites? I currently have a little daiwa QR750 on a Fenwick HMG Trout - ultralight medium action. Maybe interested in a fast or extra fast action for my next rod. I like the medium for the rod bend but it's harder to set the hook quickly on light bites & line stretch.

Favorite ultralight spinning rod?

Looking for another ultralight spinning rod for maximum fun factor and sensitivity. I have a Fenwick HMG trout series ultralight - medium action at the moment but I want to see what others recommend. Maybe I get a faster action rod for my 2nd option? The medium is nice but it's harder to set the hook quickly on light bites. I don't really want to spend over $350 but feel free to suggest more expensive rods if you must - I'll consider it.

Are immigrants responsible for the prussian carp problem?

I noticed at hasse lake that most anglers there are typically groups of Asian people - at least most of the time when I've been out there recently. I then learned that prussian carp are super popular in Japan & China as a sport fish and to eat. Is it possible that eastern immigrants are trying to convert these stocks into carp stocks so that they can sport fish how they would in their home countries? I wonder if every time they get cleaned out these people just go and toss more in & so the cycle continues

Favorite technique for fishing w/ trout magnet?

I usually use a slip bobber setup to stay out of the weeds. Was curious if anyone casts them out on their own - hard to get much casting distance that way.

Gut hooking trout

Looking for tips not debate or non constructive criticism - Is it just me or is it incredibly difficult to not hook a trout too deep when using bait? I've noticed whenever I use worms or powerbait to catch trout I end up having to kill them because they often instantly inhale it. Even if I set the hook right away it's already in their belly. Any solution to this? I suppose just not using bait if you're not looking to fish to eat?

Goldeye vs. Fish lake

Which of these is your preferred spot for trout fishing? Going out to nordegg tomorrow will probably try both. I would be open to trying abraham as well under the Cline bridge but I've heard it's not worth it.

Cold lake shore fishing

Are there okay spots to shore fish at cold lake? I've never been there but I want to get out there soon and try catch lake trout. I don't have a boat.
